  • specheando. Come with Stark.

  • this speach inspire us in tahrir square in egypt we wer runing it over speaker >>>>over and over during the 25th of january

  • I like both versions, even thogh nostalgia pushes me toward the black and white version.

  • Wow Sean, how does the scenery taste?

  • 4:55 "IF YOU DON'T VOTE YOU DON'T MATTER!!!"

    Go philosophy

    1) woman before 1920, you dont matter!

2)afrcian americans before you could vote, you don't matter!

3)children under 18 who cant vote, you dont matter!

4)people in places where democracy isn't an option, you dont matter!!

True words movie with 11% on rotten tomatoes

  • @RobtheBig Are you having fun taking words out of context?

  • @BandAids4u but if you dont vote you dont matter right?

  • Sean Penn was a great hero in this movie. Fighting for the people. Could you imagine that there are people in real life like those greedy rich family members of Jude Law? Who are too fucking greedy and selfish to give a little to the people?

  • The 1949 movie was better!

  • @NewjackPreacher we dont care!

  • We need a Willie Stark to NAIL UP the Tea Party.

  • Penn's just brilliant. Nothing like the actual Huey Long, but he is the idea of Long's theatrical populism embodied. If only politics was this insane.

  • Best Wilkie Stark EVER. And EVER WILL BE. I love this movie and I will always love this movie.

  • We need a Huey Long.

  • @pfraley12 amen.

  • a great underated movie

  • The First half of the film, the part about his rise to power, was fascinating. But then the plot got muddled with endless subplots about the judge, Burden's past, etc. It ultimately got confusing and I struggled to understand the ending.

  • If you didn't understand it you must really be a stupid fuck.

  • I said I struggled, not that I didn't understand. I did ultimately get it. I'm saying that from the way the film was made, it took a while for me to process it.

  • @cetrix1 they kill willie stark cuz he is a hick and support the hicks...

  • a very good speech...

  • That movie sucked. The book ws based in the 30's, not the 50's. They altered it so much, it was like they murdered that book. However despite the horrible altering of the quotes and scenes, I do have to admit, Sean Penn was good in it.

  • i never got to read the book, but the movie was ok, but certain actors made it better. sean penn's speech is always motivating.

  • "Nail 'em up!"

Amazing film. We need more films like this, something with a real story. My jaw droped at the ending even though I saw it coming! O_o

  • the discription sais the 50's! DEFINATELY EARLY 30's

  • the remake is actually set in the 50's. the book and the first movie were set in the 30's

  • does anyone know where i can see this speech in script form?

  • полнейший отстой. crap

  • Let that hog lie in his own filth but listen to me you hicks!

  • This is very much not like the book, and for anybody who wanted an orator like Willy Stark should read the book, and as for the obama comment, if you were expecting something in the first place in terms of change its just the label i doubt much will happen

  • I agree with you on that. Like the scene where Willie Stark is assinated. In the book it was just 2 shots, and it was not a revolover. Or what about the scene where Jack tries to bribe the judge before the judge kills himself. I remember the judge saying how it was a wonder he could'nt remember the name of the woman. They should'nt have altered it so much.

  • Awesome speech, we need more great orators that actually stand for something.

  • This film was a real disappointment. With Steve Zallian, Sean Penn and other top-notch talent involved, I was very surprised at the outcome.

  • I just got the movie, and that speech really impressed me... What powerful words... Sean Penn is great on this one.

  • i know! i thought it was disgraceful that he didn't get an oscar nomination or any award for that matter

  • NAIL EM' UP!

  • All the King's Men took place in the thirties not the fifties.

  • then it came down with the powerful force of God's own hand

    -heart pounding

  • Sean was brilliant in this film. Great job!!

  • If only we had a politician who would make those sorts of promises and DELIVER. Heres hopeing Obama can get the ball rolling!

  • You know whats the funny thing? It seems that Obama is just like Willie Stark, except he let the money masters use him as a puppet. A nice guy, nice speaker that got corrupted, or used or brainwashed. It doesnt really matter how they did it, but they did it. Obama is just like, Bill Clinton, just like George Bush. Watch the Obama Deception to learn more, a great movie really.

  • @stonecast Obama might be like Stark,...havent read the book, or seen the first movie. But obama is more of a hick, who cant speak like Stark.

  • sean pean :) he did a good job with that movie

  • Mr Hand would be very proud of you Spicoli.

  • His best and most patriotic movie ever!

  • Sean Penn is goddamn genius !

    Great acting

  • powerful performance! i love it.

  • Nice Speech, But I Still Like the Original More.

  • NAIL EM UP

    NAIL EM UP

    Nail them parasites up!

  • @ChungryNomad Amen!

  • I know there's alot of hate going on with this movie, but I have to say, I really like this version of the speech better than the b&w version. Penn's performance is powerful and magnetic and so captivating that you forget what the character is really all about. He IS Huey Long in this film. LOL.. I haven't read the book yet but am really wanting to right now.

  • the speech is a LOT different in the book. the movie gets the jist of it...but willie doesnt say hes running for governor, he said hes not going to and marks the state for MacMurfee and will run for governor later.

  • @PipaPipa195 Theres no hate, there's love 4 the people. u might want 2 see the movie again

  • Thank you.

I think I will get the book.

  • If you think this speech is amazing, read the book. The movie was well acted, well written, and well produced, but it doesn't come CLOSE to the book.

  • Absolutely nothing like the white and black version.

  • This is an extraordinary speech. Given with resolute ebullience and religious fervor, hell, I am swayed to vote in his favor. Aint that right: If you don't vote you dont matta.

  • the best speech i ever hear...better than "i have a dream"

  • perhaps if you're a hick, it is :)

i'm a hick at times, though, so i can hear what u hear.

other times i'm just a black whose speech is "the dream"

but then i become an american whose speech begins with "four scores..."

then i'm a football player whose speech is given by Pacino on some any given sunday afternoon

But, yes, when I am a hick, this speech is all I hear

Deo Volente we can all hear the words of inspiration within every great speech

  • Tight speach

  • good speach

  • great
