  • FUCKING MAKOTO GOT MAD LAST ROUND LMFAO

    but Kokujin is a beast.

  • nice match for the both :D

  • I wonder why K.O. picked makoto against dudley instead of yun.

  • 0:53 is what Kokujin can do to you from anywhere on the screen if you make any kind of mistake at all at any time.

  • damn K.O became a fuckin monster from 1:05 and on but Kokujin pulled the win

    lol i love this fight

  • yes but ko did it accidentally

  • Lmao what's with the taunt? This match is hilarious.

  • Simply great playing by Kokujin, even if K.O. obviously made huge mistakes. By that, I don't mean anything negative against K.O. at all - mistakes can be done by anybody, even him. :)

  • Yeah not K.O.'s smartest move picking a character with no corner defense compared to a mixup master whos goal is to keep you in the corner.

  • Makoto has a slight advantage over Dudley because of her high priority, fast recovery, low attacks, and command throw. Kokujin just did too good a job at the mixup game and caught K.O. off guard.

  • Dudley has more priority than Makoto.

Dudley's SA3 has the most priority in the game.

Makoto's only low attacks are Cr. HP and Cr. LK.

Makoto has no defense in the corner.

The only advantage i would see her having is the ability to hit a St. MK after an ex hayate in the corner rather than a simple f. LK on other characters. As if if the isn't enough, dudley has a big stun bar, and the 100% stun combo is harder to do on dudley, and wont garauntee a complete stun because of the large bar.

  • "Dudley has more priority than Makoto"?

You haven't been playing 3rd Strike very long, have you?

Many of Dudley's patented high punches sail over Makoto's head, and Dudley has a hell of a time getting around Makoto's standing forward, low strong, and crouching roundhouse. Makoto also has farther throw range and priority than Dudley, and against Dudley, she rules the air.

Dudley's advantages against Makoto are his attack speed, fast jabs, Corkscrew Blow and her slow walking speed.

  • U don't necessarily see a dudley who plays footsies with people. Their usually in your face beating you down. If u noticed in the match dudley was constantly stuffing mak. But its hardly about the characters, i guess its more the player. J vs Kokujin lol...

  • dudley has the advantage. makoto doesnt have very many options when cornered, if any at all. and cornering is the way dudley does things

  • crap i replied to the wrong person sry

  • Hell yeah I have a shitty time playin makoto's in Tournaments.

  • ROFL!! Holy Shit dude, Kokujin just totally tore K.O.'s Makoto up in the 1st round. I'll bet K.O. regretted deciding to face Kokujin with Makoto afterwards. I think K.O. should of just stuck with using Yun because it's more degrading for K.O. to play against Kokujin's best character (Dudley) with K.O. picking a character that he's not the best with (Makoto instead of Yun). Still, I thought K.O. played a good Makoto despite the fact that he lost to Kokujin.

  • 0:29 KO must have been shitting bricks. When Dudley faked that jump-in.Q

  • racist.Q

  • Yes probably an accidental taunt.

By the way I thought KO was a Yun's player

  • ko is crazy good with yun, yang and makoto. and decent with everyone, thats why he is considered by many as the best overall player in the game.

  • I heard that KO plays makoto b/c he believes she is actually the BEST character in the game, and wants to get her higher on the point scale.

  • if thats true (which it may very well be) one could say that no one in the world is good enough to use makoto to her full potential then? haha

  • KO, Boss and J all play Makoto about as well as anybody can. She does have holes in her defense (not to mention low stamina -- look at the whopper damage Kokujin's first combo does here) that can be exploited. But all three above players are so unpredictable that they mask her weaknesses very well. That same unpredictability sometimes works against their favour, depending on the opponent.

  • very true, and well said, but going back to the first topic can anyone pull out makoto's full potential? and whos to say when it is reached? to much of 3rd strike is rock, paper, scissors (chance) but that is what makes it fun for me

  • Makoto has normal stamina. Tested it in training mode. She takes the same amount of damage as Ryu,Ken,Dudley,Alex and Q with no taunts. She took that amount of damage because she was in the crouching position. Crouching makes you take an extra 25% damage.

  • Oh yeah, that taunt cost the match. That Hai after Makoto's ex punch was too funny.

  • i wonder, did K.O start playing more w/ other characters because no one could take his Yun? lol, gotta be pretty boring if you win all the time.

  • when did K.O. START useing other chars

  • last time she started using here because he was teaming up with boss at sbo , and boss uses yun and you cant use the same player more than once in a team . so i would assume he was trying to get practice with other characters as well . He plays a pretty mean yang so i hear as well

  • Accidental Taunt?

  • LOL sure looked like it.
