NOt bad but your parts were over played into the next guitar players parts. Also he only does the slight distorted part once at 0:37 and not that distorted, its much cleaner. But your doing it again at 1:40 and 2:10. Then the part at 3:10 is guitar 2 part, guitar stays doing the same part you started doing

I've seen some comments regarding Phil versus Steve, and it's all wrong. Phil had more technique, but Steve played a little sloppy but with a lot of heart. Perfect match, and Don does a great job on Phil's version!

Not so much sloppy, as much as he didn't rely on as much technique as Phil did. I base that on watching him play and some documentaries I've seen. However, he made up for technique by playing by ear and by heart! Yes, he's missed, and I love to hear him play, along with others who play his versions to song, such as this video.

Oh man get a clue. Don played this song note for note and played all the different layers really well. Steve on the other hand plays by ear. Steve is not a bad player, but his cover does not reflect the true tonation of the song, although it does sound good with that Jackson and sustainer lol. When I listen to see if a person is good, I listen for timing and the music being played the same as the original artist note for note and Don has my vote as being as original as it gets.

I play an Ibanez and use the neck pickup and have a Digitech modeler with a Marshall amp. I still can't get that Lep tone. I know the Leps use Randall amps but I need the effects. What are you using and how can I recreate the tone?
