  • "Rollerland Skate Ring Indianapolis Indiana"!!!!! HOLLER, HOLLER

  • Damn! This is now one of my jams!

  • 16, driving a 67 Galaxy 500, and this song blaring on the radio. Life was good.

  • Brick and the Dazz band are two different groups. Brick is from Atlanta and the DB is from Cleveland and never shared members.

  • WHOOO AMAZING

  • By the time this song became a radio hit, the band Brick had changed their name to the Dazz Band, so the original poster did not make mistake, Brick and Dazz Band are the same guys. I was in high school at the time (wow I'm old) and I remember the song and the band. Great song!

  • I was looking for this under the Dazz band too! hahaha Thanks for your post. Did they change their name rom brick to Dazz band?

  • Starsky and Hutch lol

  • This song is awesome!! I love it

  • Yeah, that's my jam ;}

  • Gotta love 70's stripper music!!!

  • Rest In Peace Donal Nevins, the band and the world will miss you

  • The funkiest song you will ever hear. Period.

  • Who remembers the after school dances where you got your groove on the dance floor and at the house parties.

I do security sometimes for afterschool dances and the music is crap.... the girls dress like junior sluts in training and the guys think they are all bad ass and try to get thier groove on off the floor. This is music for the Bump and Grind crowd and solo flyers too. The sad thing these kids are all like in their early teens and have to suffer listening to crap..

  • this is how babies are made

  • Remember SLAVE ? "SLIDE" These guys are in the same division

FUNK as it's meant to be !!!!!!

Tony T ...former DJ in Amsterdam-Netherlands It's funky funky funky!!!!!!

  • Wow I looked forever for this song. . . Its on Diary of a mad black woman soundtrack. . . . KOLL SONG !!!!

  • This jam is endless. In Cleveland Ohio when this song comes on even the young folks get up and do the dance called the Earl Flinn.lol What a sung.

  • It's 1976 and I'm working 4pm - 12am at the phone company ($300/week when my lakefront studio apartment from the 1930s rented for $90/month!) and I can remember rocking out to this song on my Panasonic boom box. Still have the boom box and it works fine but the battery compartment cover is gone, it's spackled with paint from dozens of outside and inside home paint jobs and it's got a circa 1976 bumper sticker on it that says: "I Dig 'Brick' Performing Dazz on KYAC Seattle's Super Soul #1" .

  • So, "Dazz" by Brick... so, why is "Cotton Club" on the album cover. (I know what The Cotton Club was-20’sHarlem jazz nightclub-, I just want to know why its name is written there)

  • ice cube took this beat and made it more famous

  • Love the bass line, still good after all these years

  • @biggieshorty24 That bass is knocking

  • KACE ( defunct -- no pun intended -- L.A. radio station ) used to play this quite a bit . Such a classic ; one of my faves from when I was a kid .

  • hi my name is Brion. I was 6 when this song came out.My parents taught me to dance to this song(clap your hands to the beat, boy!). In 2011,the only time I dance now is when I'm listening to this genre on you tube!

  • CLASSIC!!!!

    Almost brought me to tears.

  • You have a picture of the wrong group. The picture you are showing is a picture of The Dazz Band, not Brick.

  • @noinwe skool em!

  • well alright

  • This is one of those 'Evergreen' songs that never get old. It still sounds like it could get released today and be a huge hit. It's really unbelievable how old this song is, but sounds as fresh now as it did when it first came out.

  • @daddybug101 No problem! True they don't.

  • @PimpJSC

Well, no problemo as we have old school radio and outlets like THIS!

  • yeah, this was mainstream on the radio back in the day.

  • @daddybug101

This was a great song back in the day. Chick Filet is using it for their commercial now.

  • @StevenC32 LOL, they sure did use this song! When I first heard it I was like, damn those cows were getting down and turn it back on!!!!

  • @kissmyass9195 HELL YEAH!!!

  • Remember this like it was 5 seconds ago. Bands, bands, bands... All this talent replaced by enhanced studios and machines. I guess The Original Terminator movie was right!

  • Good times.

  • Guys, listen to this, once for all: THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER TO PLAY IN A PARTY! IT REMEMBERS THE 70'S FOR THOSE WHO KNEW IT AND THE YOUNGSTERS WILL FOLLOW IT, ANYWAY!!! I was born in '61 and I grew up with this, i put it in a party, and it was crasy. 70's at its best. DAZZ BAND, u were the best. LOVA YA, and keep on dazzing!!!!! forever!!!! Agree with sagitaricorn & kissmyass9195: Flute and riffs are out of this world! CHEERS TO ALL!

  • Talk about a tune that can get you into a groove. When I drive and put the top down, I crank it. Priceless!!!

  • "Jazz ... Disco ... Jazz ... Disco ..." , but more funk than either. One of my favorite funk records of all time, along with "Express Yourself", the theme from Shaft, Superstition, "Skin Tight", (the real version of) "Love Roller Coaster" and, ironically, "Boogie Child" .

  • The smooth flute and bass riffs bust this tune over the top! This has been one of my all time favs!

  • this fucking shit is GRAND first time im hearing this!

    ONE GRAND FUNKDAFIED MUTHA FUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG!!! I miss the 70's music!! Great song!

  • If this song doesn't get you moving your body, or at least bobbing your head, nothing will.

  • Man, I miss the Seventies!

  • @ChopstickBrando - naw man, just the music,,, We're all so much better off now - and we still got All that music to get funky with, we can bring it w/us everywhere - y e a h, everywhere!

  • @Belit01

Belit01, sounds like I gotta get me one o'them iPod thingies -- my cassette Walkman went out on me in 1989, and I've been portable-musicless ever since!

  • @ChopstickBrando >I used my Walkman cassette till I loaded it one time too many the wrong way and it wouldn't work anymore - I loved It! I still got boxes of mix tapes I made and use them in my car - w/ 12 cd player AND a cassette - what do you think I use the most? Hahaa! I'm up for an iPod too to get music off the computer - DO IT! It's worth every penny and get yur dance party ON!!!

  • @ChopstickBrando Tuff times then but great sounds

  • @salinagrrrl69

They WERE tuff times...People forget, and only remember the fun stuff. America was in a bad way back then.

  • @ChopstickBrando Funny thing that I am reminded of the hard times when ever I catch an eppisode of "Good Times".

OBTW Gangsta rap would have had no place on 'SoulTrain'. That show was about Peace L0vE JOY n Dancing!

  • @ChopstickBrando Hey, I know what you mean! They sure knew how to make excellent feel-good music. I guess that's what the 70's was all about!

  • MRvincent77 I love Slave!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If I remember correctly, one of the horn players had mastered a technique where he could breathe in through his nose and exhale through his mouth, thus allowing him to hold a note indefinitely. I seem to remember hearing that on Casey Kasem's American Top 40 countdown.

  • Circular breathing I think. Didgerido players use it.

  • Wish we had the vid, eh One of the Greatest tunes ever!
