By the time this song became a radio hit, the band Brick had changed their name to the Dazz Band, so the original poster did not make mistake, Brick and Dazz Band are the same guys. I was in high school at the time (wow I'm old) and I remember the song and the band. Great song!
Who remembers the after school dances where you got your groove on the dance floor and at the house parties.
I do security sometimes for afterschool dances and the music is crap.... the girls dress like junior sluts in training and the guys think they are all bad ass and try to get thier groove on off the floor. This is music for the Bump and Grind crowd and solo flyers too. The sad thing these kids are all like in their early teens and have to suffer listening to crap..
It's 1976 and I'm working 4pm - 12am at the phone company ($300/week when my lakefront studio apartment from the 1930s rented for $90/month!) and I can remember rocking out to this song on my Panasonic boom box. Still have the boom box and it works fine but the battery compartment cover is gone, it's spackled with paint from dozens of outside and inside home paint jobs and it's got a circa 1976 bumper sticker on it that says: "I Dig 'Brick' Performing Dazz on KYAC Seattle's Super Soul #1" .
So, "Dazz" by Brick... so, why is "Cotton Club" on the album cover. (I know what The Cotton Club was-20’sHarlem jazz nightclub-, I just want to know why its name is written there)

This is one of the best songs I've ever heard!!!! My mama would tell me about the way her and her girlfriends shut the club down to this, Earth Wind and Fire and some Bar Kays.

@ChopstickBrando - naw man, just the music,,, We're all so much better off now - and we still got All that music to get funky with, we can bring it w/us everywhere - y e a h, everywhere!
