one of these flew in front of me while driving through a small wooded area near my home, it landed in a tree so i stoped to view it ,it just sat there watching me haha. the cheeky thing. Anoying thing was though that i didnt have my camera :)...typical!!
I had a brief but close encounter with a Buzzard (Buteo buteo) the other day, sitting on a short pole along the freeway a couple of clicks south of 'T Zand (Northern Holland), as I passed it on my mopedscooter. Short tail, wide wings, lot of glide in it's flight, call sounds a bit like a cat's meow. Yup, that's a Buzzard alright. They're the most common bird of prey in the Netherlands, and they love roadkill.
Nice bird. I like common Buzzard. Observed one here too now in western Norway where its considered rare. Hopefully I am going to get it on camera :-)

My sister nick named me Buzzard years ago because she found out, of all the predator birds the buzzard has the smallest brain, is this true?

Very very common in Scotland, the Buzzards home :) you see them perched by motorways etc waiting on prey patiently.

Fantastic video!
I like this bird very much.
In the past I used to take care of some birds (specially of this kind),found injured.
It took me years to heal the bird but sometimes it was not successful.

Thanks, yes the buzzard is a great bird and I see and film them some times. Great that you are healing birds too.Good job.

IntoGloryRide3 3 years ago
Hi IntiGloryRide3, no, I found the pigeon on the road, it was hit by a car and used it for filming this Buzzard.
