  • wish she would sing GOspel 24/7 but many unbelievers hear the GOspel message because of her talent and fame, and those are seeds that are planted deep. I've heard her live she and the band are beyond belief live! U can't imagine. When she came back onstage and did A living prayer completely acapella, you could of heard a pin drop, I felt like I was in heaven, I had chill bumps all over and tears started streaming down, she is THE ONLY violinist I can listen to without getting a migraine.

  • Does this not sound like its coming straight out of Heaven, God Bless Allison Krauss, & Stuart Duncan

  • You can't stop the overwhelming love of God that was spread through that crowd.. How about that response.. God's Love Rules!

  • Thanks for this. Unbelievable voice well displayed in this clip. Wow wow wow.

  • she was discovered by no lesser man than BILL MONROE himself and THAT man sure did know what he was doing , as always .....

  • wow ! this must be the most beautiful performance I have hitherto heard of allison krauss .... try the version by STACY GRUBB of the same song, very good, too !

  • All this talk of Robert Plant in these responses, but the man on stage with Alison is Stuart Duncan, who is ten times the musician that Plant is. Stuart is likely the best fiddle player alive.

  • @U2BRTOO Jimmy Page (guitarist for those who don't know) was the driving talent in Led Zeppelin.

  • no one will ever compare...purrrrrfection!

  • I think she is the best singer that has ever lived and I doubt a better one will ever come along.

  • Timeless Beauty!!!!!!!!!

  • Big, big fan of Alison here. LOVE her work with RP; it's the best stuff she's ever done, and that's saying a lot. The Grammy sweep ought to be confirmation enough. Alison surely realizes what the majority of the public prefers. Bluegrass has always had a limited appeal, just like classical, Celtic, and so many other genres. What they did on RS was ambrosia to the masses thirsting for some good old fashioned great songs delivered with style and substance. I'm waiting eagerly for RS, Part 2.

  • Check out Ritchie Nevada - "Someday"

  • '73? wow! that was a prime time to catch them!

  • what thapperned in manschester with robert plant and alison in concert

  • I'm glad they played this song in front of all of those people who went to the concert expecting Led Zeppelin songs all night.

  • @rhart123 Allison and Union Station always do Gospel songs at every concert!! If you ever get a chance to hear them live, whoooooo!!!

  • Alison, I Love You dear sister...I have tears in my eyes because after listening

to you I've been to CHURCH...

    God Bless YOU

    Carry ON !!!

  • W T F does this have to do with 'ALISON KRAUSS? B T W ...APPROX 92% OF TEENS OR A LOT LESS WILL HOPEFULLY DISCOVER SOME REAL MUSIC AFTER GROWING UP A BIT MORE, YOU THINK? Do you have ANY thoughts?

  • YAY!

I just so hope Alison returns to the UK with Union Station to clear away the dreadful memory i have of the terrible Robert Plant fiasco performance i saw in Manchester..

so glad people are stating what was so obvious that night; The Plant man was either drunk or on drugs, don't know which, but Alison and the Nashville musicians inc Mr Burnett, rescued the night, with their professionalism...

Mr Plant so spoiled a very, very long awaited for Alison Return consert, for me.

  • That's too bad. I thought he was over that kind of behavior, at least before a performance. He did very well in L.A. when I saw them.

  • I have that taping and I have no idea whether Plant was under the influence of anything but it sounds pretty good to me. Hardly sounds like a "fiasco"!

  • Her mediocrity has won her 26 grammys and single handedly brought bluegrass into the mainstream. As a whole, Alison fans want her to go back to Union Station just as much as fans of Robert want him to return to Zeppelin. And Alison will return to Union Station to record new music and tour. I'm not so sure the same can be said of Plant returning to LZ though, if not even for just one more reunion tour. If Krauss is mediocrity, I'd love to her a good or superb singer.

  • and she can fiddle too.

  • Well, I consider myself a fan of Alison and I disagree. I am looking forward to the next album with Plant as much as to the next with Union Station!

  • @Lengsel7 WOW!! That was pretty harsh! All this time I thought she was really good, thanks for your enlightenment! Please tell me who is a good singer so I will know to listen to them instead.

  • Your a trendy dickweed.

  • I totally agree with you , it was cool that she shared the stage with plant , she's a great artist I wish she would go back to AKUS

  • I sang this song by my Daddy's bedside when he died.

  • Just remember, he isnt gone, he is just waiting on you to go home!

  • That's sweet, and no he's not waiting on you to go home, he's waiting in the grave for a resurrection. Some people take a comment like that seriously and 'off' themselves thinking they'll automatically meet in heaven, NOT so!

  • Just Awesome! I like her version. This is one of -if not my favorite gospel folk songs. Emmy Lou Harris just does an awesome job on "Down From the mountain" (PBS special). The guitarist who also sings with her does an incredible job on the solo. I hope someone will post that too! hint hint :-)

  • i found an old dvd around my house that has the musicians from 'Oh Brother Where Are Thou" performing at Rhyman Auditorium. Allison Krauss, Emmy Lou Harris, and (i'm drawing a blank on the third lady) sang this song so beautifully together that it made me cry. Three part harmony was absolutely amazing. i wish i could find it here on Youtube. Post it if you can find it please! even if it's just the music. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG I"VE EVER HEARD.

    Justin

  • i just looked this up. the DVD is called "Down From the Mountain". the third woman singing with EmmyLou Harris and Allison Krauss is Gillian Welch. Find it. Post it. Love it.

  • ..my Angel here on Earth...

  • Alison, in my opinion, has one of the purest voices in Country Music today.

She's the real deal, and the whole package!

Very best wishes for health and happiness!

    GinMillBill

  • And people say Angels are not real and are not here with us. I say, listen to this wonderful woman, and tell me HOW there can be no Angels when you hear one before you!

  • I did see this show last night in Losa Angeles and it was way better than I could have imagined! I hope that they release a live CD of there tour, this music should be around for everyone to enjoy!!

  • Stuart Duncan in the BEST!!!!

  • She did such an incredible job on this song last night in Asheville....I think I caught a glimpse of what heaven will be....

  • I have tickets to the L.A. show on the 24th and I can't wait! She is one of a handful of artists who actually sound better live than recorded. I have goosebumps.

  • I want to go this this particular concert again, I wasn't prepared to hear here sing such a variety of music. I would be able to appreciate it more a second time around. ENJOY THE CONCERT!

  • That was a good show. It was nice to hear Robert Plant doing some old gospel songs with Alison Krauss as well as some old Led Zeppelin tunes.

  • I have seen her and US many time, just attended the AC&RP concert. I thought it was great, but when she performed this song - I was just overwhelmed by the nastalgia of the music and the clairity of her voice. Thank you for posting!!!!

  • effing love her live shows

  • most excellent

  • You sure are :D

  • Brilliant!Thank you so much for putting this up!
