@WCUangel90 no. they dug the hole so that the rock would fall into it and let the cart roll. the cart simply rolled over the rock in the hole and kept going.

Why -would- the farmer keep a fox kit if not as a pet? Major hole in the story.

@sora28387 Maybe he intended to keep it as a pet like for his wife or something. Foxy is quite pretty. Of course I know hunters that keep animals like that to train thier dogs to track them down so that could be it also.

@Serasia In the book, she's really the sister of Vuk, and her name is Iny just like their mothers, In the book Vuk's mate is a different fox called Csele. In the movie...She's not his sister, but maybe she called Iny, I dunno.

Um, in the original story she IS Vuk's sister. But they don't have kids, both of them have another mate later.

you read the origional book? what other differences in the story are there?

There's a lot. As a children's cartoon it's less cruel than the book (for example there hasn't shown the battle between the hunter's dogs and the fox parents)

But it's follow the main storyline so well.

If you interested, you can read the book, it has been aired in English as 'Vuk the fox cub' by István Fekete.

@Aedua I knew it!! I always felt so weird while watching their meeting. My first thought was that "Um, that's MOST LIKELY your sister. Don't go getting googly", but I just brushed it off when the story didn't go in that direction. It still always made me feel that way at that part of the movie, though. I almost even comment on the last clip to see if I was the only one that ever wondered that. Good to know that it wasn't just me, and better to know that the original story agreed. Thanks

@KutePulki In the Original story this fox girl is Vuk's sister. Teh original story is Istvan Fekete's novel VUK. In the cartoon we have some changes. Vuk's love called Csele.
