@Maybe you are looking at it from a more "musical" perspective, while I do enjoy the music the thing I like most able cof is their lyrics. I remember sitting down with the lyrics and listening to songs such as say "beauty slept in sodom", or "doberman pharaoh" or even "mother of abominations" and "medusa and hemlock" for the first time and hearing the rich and deep references to mythological, occult and even biblical themes and being very impressed.
