Not 100% sure, but I think you can just right click your mask and go to Select > Select All

Nope, Rotoscoping is creating a traced matte animation from a live action video source.

Think "A Scanner Darkly" or some of the Kanye West Videos.

You could color correct and then apply the filter called "Desaturate all but reds."

simplest way to do it is in windows movie maker, import your media into the clip then hit ctrl p and choose "for playback on this computer" then you choose name ect, and choose the biggest render file you can, then continue and drag that clip renderd into vegas

it's a custom one he saved. you have to use the red midtones, make the red 0.5000 and the green/blue 0.0000. then, you can name it, Red and save it for the rest.

That's okay, then you get the same video and every time there IS a blast you just show the video with the red (While masking wherever you want the flash. ) so that it looks like a blast is coming out. To make it look more realistic you can import a Halo 3 video where you just shoot your BR once and you use that to have a flash on your gun so that the gradient of the color is realistic.
