The biggest oil indutrys have banned the manufacture of electric cars a few years ago. All these cars could have been made with a system that can reload the batteries with an seperate air intake that transforms the intake air to electricity... But the electricity industry would make alot of deficit and the cars would cost about 10-20 times more. Once again, Money and Power vs Ecology.

it is still better for the environment than driving around in a conventional car. And guess what? Technology is EVOLVING. That's the whole point of it actually. And in the future, it will be possible to generate enough electricity WITHOUT fossil fuels. And btw, what kind of a reaction is: "Oh, that isn't friendly for the environment either, let's stick with our injection cars, then we don't have to change". And only does 0-60 in 4.9sec. Why->The torque is fed through gearing which does not output anything close to that number. Sure, the 4 electric motors combined output is 3,319tq, but that never reaches the wheels. Additionally, electric motors will deliver their rated power (hp & tq) in an all-together different power band curve than an combustion engine and gearing plays a huge part in how power is applied at the wheels.
