so how much did u pay for this..? iv seen them on the internet for as low as $275. but i was on craigslist looking at them and this guy is selling his (plus a hard case) for $350 and hes had it for 3 years. he said he bought it new for $600. and they both are standards with the inlays and chrom and same features. is that a ripoff if i buy it off that guy?

there is the standard which is what i believe he is playing. and epiphone also makes the slightly less good versions such as the studio. or you can get the stadard "b-stock" which is closer to 300. but yeah. the lp standard is 500-550 depeneding on the color. i too am planning on getting one froma friend for 350 with a case. its a good deal for a good guitar. take it

the plus top has a variety of flamed finishes like translucent blue and cherry sunburst and it is 100% mahogany body... the plain one only comes in plain black and has mahogany body but it is topped with alder.... apart from that... in guitar center plain top is 375$ and plus top is 549$

That's artificial harmonics: basically, you have to sort of immediately touch the string with your thumb after you play the note. Look on the net for better explanation :)

There was no amp. I recorded the sound directly in my soundcard using my GNX1 (by Digitech).

It was late in the evening so I was recording with headphones in order not to piss off my roommates :)

I have an epiphone les paul classic. The wood is of very high quality. Better than a lp custom. I would compare my epiphone to maybe a gibson lp studio.

Depends on which model of Epiphone LP. From the Standard on up, the wood is the same with the exception of the thickness of the maple cap. The Gibsons are a 1/4" while the Epis are a veneer. The Eltist Epis are pretty much identical though. Epi hardware is also cheaper except for the Elitist.

i have Gibson's and Epiphone's no difference in construction what so ever the only differences are in the small specifications like the abr-1 bridge that gibson uses i don't like it all that much is buzzes allot and the epiphone tune-o-matic bridge which is the same as gibson's ar-1 except it has thicker posts so it is more stable just an example. the gibson Nashville bridge is better than the abr-1 bridge and is much like the epiphone model.

the main difference between the gibson and epiphone les pauls is the pickups which can be easily replaced and the bridge system which operates and sounds exactly the same except for the epiphone model with the screw end so its easer to adjust.

The difference between plain top and plus top is only appereance, instead of normal maple in plain top, the plus top uses flamed and figured maple which makes it look nicer on the back...

This one is the normal standard, no plus top or plain top. As far as I know the only difference between plus and plain top is the flamed maple top on the plus top. I'm not sure about the difference between this and the plus/plain tops though.

Hey, i'm glad you like it. The setup is just the Epiphone through my GNX1 (by digitech)that's going in the soundcard

Be sure however to check the guitar yourself, cuz there are good epis and there are some bad ones as well.

I made this video cuz the guitar was for sale, however that did not quite work out...now i'm thinking maybe is for the better :)
