i had an uncle who test drove grant tanks during the war before they were shipped. he put them through their paces and more than one batch was destined for russia. i saw one knocked out. most likely he had driven it after it left the factory. fascinating.
I read that the German planners wanted to build a line of defensive rings in Russia to fall back on, all the while Speer would be amassing huge amounts of tanks, other weapons etc. The Russians would expend themselves, and then the Germans would plan an attack in 1944 again on the advantage. However, Hitler wanted No Retreat, and Kursk was a terrible plan and had no shot of success. Any other darn plan would've been better; plus the Russians knew the attack because of codes, and it was obvious
@petrwarry72 ah ok....nice to know...i know that the soviets receive american supplies even tanks and jeeps and so on...but i even thought that the soviets paint over the us emblems
Does anyone know what kind of rockets were used during the battle of Kursk? there are two types of it in this video
