Quintus Metellus was the commander for the "first" battle in 148 BC

@MrXdeadX Legions are typically composed of around 5,000 soldiers. They are split into what was called "cohorts" which are basically squads of smaller amounts of men. A cohort is usually divided into around 300 or 400 men, give or take. Hope that was helpful :)

@RWJkicksAss4U Peasants can be useful. When facing a faction that has horse archers or chariot archers or really good foot archers or artillery, you could use peasants to soak up the missiles and let your real soldiers take less arrows and casualties. Peasants also could slow down a cavalry charge. I would prefer to use town watch because they are only 50 denarii more expensive and yet they're somewhat stronger.

@GeneralHaseth1 Ok, are you logging on with Rome Total War or Barbarian Invasion? Makes a BIG difference. Take your disc out, and read if it's "Rome Total War" or "Barbarian Invasion."

Awesome battle alex,i Believe the main reason the macedonians lost pydna,if i am not mistaken,is because the phalanxes had to march over rough terrain,thus leaving gaps in there lines.The Romans,seeing this,rushed forwards and into the gaps causing chaos and routing the macedonians,Also perseus fled without even engaging and was accused as a coward by his men...

@GeneralHaseth1 You're on the wrong patch. You need patch 1.5 of Rome Total War. If you have an old patch, then it will look like everyone is playing Barbarian Invasion (even though they're not).

It's incredible how fair you make both armies, each with its own specific advantages and disadvantages, but unique at the same time. Even more incredibly, however, when you stage two of these battles (in one you use the one army, in the other the other army), you win both of them. And an awesome history lesson at the same time. Epic.

Do you ever do off-line battles? You are the best RTW player I've ever seen and I really would like to see you beating Teutoburg Forest on very hard preferably without pausing. I've tried it numerous times on VH without pausing but always failed hardcore. After that I realized I was playing 1.3(in which berserkers had 3 hp). I switched up to 1.5 and failed 10x again :)

Could I request you to try this battle on VH without pausing if you don't mind?
