Yes Level 24 makes mission 4 level 2 in ultimate doom look like gold. I've done it on my difficulty of choice ultra-violence once.

@AltimaMantoid Ah yes, I just watched your vid of that level. Seeing how bad Habitat is actually makes me want to play either E2M2 or E2M4 just for the fun. I think one other Sandy Peterson blunder, aside from the 2 I just mentioned, was probably E3M9. That map was so unimaginative, basically take E3M1 & add chewy surprises.

@MasterDrew117 I actually don't mind E2M4, it's nicely done despite Peterson's involvement with it. It has a unique atmosphere to it.

@AltimaMantoid Very true, plus the music in E2M4 would be a perfect piece for a haunted house. Deimos Lab was also a good prep-map for Halls of The Damned when taking into account the number of Cacodemons & Barons one encounters.

I actually like the slime-fall room. If I'm in hell I expect stuff to not make sense -- a little bit of surreal helps after all that base and city. Can't say much for the rest of the map, though...

@u1849ka I will give you that, with the whole "If you're in hell things shouldn't make sense." You have a point, however... that's... still even less explainable and more of a "Fuck you, Sandy Petersen" to me haha. Just nothing in this map appeals to me at all =/

Wouldn't it be possible to land on the very edge of the platform with the invulnerability at 6:16 to not get the invulnerability, then wait for the platform before grabbing it?

@TheHMSInvincible Possibly with exact precision, but you greatly risk a LOT of time loss in a speedrunning scenario. In casual play if you're willing to wait for *near eternity* then possibly.

Oh yeah I don't know if anyone else mentioned this because I don't feel like reading all the comments but if you get stuck in the middle press whatever button you press to open doors (I bought mine on the 360) and you can slowing go back up... as if they couldn't waste anymore of our time but yeah I wanted to give that heads up about this shitty map

@Superben169 Yeah, you can press on the walls to get back up to the top, but the only problem is that the pits are so deep that you'll die before you get back to the top, even at 200/200 health/armor. Even if you have 30 seconds of invulnerability, I think it's still too slow... it's just ridiculous. Just best not to fall off and get stuck =/

This map is boring.... You got that stuck in my head while playing this map making the level a little bit better. Haha I like the cheesiness of these videos

@Superben169 Thanks, glad that you enjoy them then =P As for the map, yes, it is incredibly boring and badly designed, quite possibly the worst map in Doom 2. At least, this is my opinion =)

@m3ntoZ Trying to figure out how this map is enjoyable. Not judging you, it's your opinion =) But I seriously cannot find one good thing about it, at least for me. It's a painful mess of awful, in my opinion. HOWEVER, I will say that the cavernous areas of the map do have a nice texture combination going, so I will give you that much =D

@AltimaMantoid I was looking through my save files looking for the level i was going to record today and thought i had overwritten it on accident and i thought i may have to play chasm again since that was my most recent save before then. The thought of this provoked near hysteria. Luckily i had just passed over it. Another crisis averted.
