  • Oh so gooooooood

  • 6 people dislike! One day they'll be alive.

  • Can you post the high def version? Stage 6 no longer exist. You did Jeff and the rest of the ELO group proud with this video.

  • ELO for ever!

  • I grew up with my bigger brother's music: pink floyd , beatles, supertramp, simon and gurf..., eagles...nothing to say, history of music, but I TOTALLY MISSED OUT the ELO!!!!

now i am 41 and those groups i dont listen more, but i I found by chance the complete discography of ELO and.... really ...unbelievable....lot of fantastic songs....to me is like to have a second teen age!!

now with my old experience I can say that Jeff Lynn is one of the greatest musical artists of all time!

  • good job with the footage, you could tell that you care about these guys,as do i -thanx!!

  • Left to nearly rot by Jeff because He didn't have a clue as to end it,Richard said,"Why not use Latitude 88 as the lyric?" and that did it! After 30 years, finally completed! It was used on the 2010 CD version of "OOTB".

  • This sounds like it should have been from the "Secret Messages" album.

  • @lonstar70 That's what I thought as well. Same guitars. That sound was not used at all in OOTB.

  • One of the best ELO songs. Shame it wasn't on the original album, but it gave Fans something to be excited about more recently than the 80s.

  • Excelent work dokkie2. E.L.O. ist the best!!!

  • Fantastic song and a very nice video !

(I love this new/old song and i'm a big fan)

  • My 5 year old son knows every word to this song It's like one of hiz favorite songs

  • could have been a big hit on out of the blue , but then we're all full of wisdom in retrospect!! jeff of course will always be a genious for ever!!

  • The beginning reminds me a bit of Xanadu. But its an awesome song either way! Love it, and love Jeff Lynne! The True Musical Genius! =-D

  • Another rediscovered gem - Fab!

  • Great video to yet another Jeff Lynne classic. Thanks for posting it.

  • One of the best band everytime.

  • '35 below and falling, how I wish that she was calling me...'

  • @pinkandjefflynne I wonder if this line was a reference his first wife Rosemary.

  • DOKKIE YOU SURE KNOW GOOD MUSIC WHEN YOU HERE IT THANKS AN ABSOLUTE CLASSIC

  • This song is purely epic.

  • Thx for this great work...one of the best fan-vid ever :)

  • I heard this song years ago on bbc and never heard again it caught my attention then as well as now bravo jeff

  • greatest band of all time.

  • @dreaming4000 , Jeff Lynn must have been smoking the wrong joint when he

decided not to put this track on a record when it was originally recorded. I guess he knew it was far ahead of its time. Whatever the reason I'm glad it's out now,

because its just one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

Oh and yes the Electric Light Orchestra is

the greatest band of all time. Bar none.

  • @MrHablopablo Oh please, overkill. They are the son of the Beatles.

  • Just fantastic. ELO have always been the very best...

  • Beautiful! My dad is the biggest ELO fan ever, he introduced me to them and IMO, this is one of their best.

  • gracias a quien subió el video, no lo conocía y me encantó, como toda la música de ELO.

  • Wow! Good video, I never heard this song before.

  • gracias eternas

  • super

  • Just once you thought ELO were finished, this comes along. Brilliant!

  • Unique, brilliant, say no more

  • Jeff, un genio inagotable. Espero pacientemente su próximo album, que sin lugar a dudas volverá a sorprendernos. Que bien que entre tanta música basura aún podamos escuchar algo de gran nivel.

  • I've been a huge ELO fan for 32 years. Great job on the video!

  • Piszę znowu - JEFF - WRÓĆ !!!

  • JEFF - WRÓĆ !!!!!!!!!

  • popieram całym sercem

  • I can't imagine this song in the same vein as OOTB /ANWR, although it is apparently from the same era. It just doesn't seem to fit. Sounds more like it belongs on Xanadu.

  • I agree...Lynne didn't start using this signature sound until the solo stuff beginning with "Electric Dreams" soundtrack. Maybe he wrote it back then and didn't record it until later...nice track, though!

    //dan

  • He did, story goes he never released it because the producer thought it sounded like a weather report. So yeas later it struck him he should put 'it's like' before Latitude 88 North and presto, you've got yourself a single :)

  • The "Ice Man" was foung in the Alps. Reference?

  • I am a massive ELO fan but did not hear this until YOUTUBE thank you for posting it is now one of my FAVOURITES

  • Good song and wonderful video !

  • thanks man! :)

  • Dziękuję !!!

  • awesome song!! wish they would have a comeback tour!!

  • Jeff Lynne has a solo album due out late this year. Richard Tandy may appear on it for a couple of songs, as usual.

  • Jeff Lynne put his life into his songs.

    None better!

  • lol i chose this song to analyze for an english essay project dealing with love themes...i think i made a good choice!

  • dokkie2,you are fantastic, great video you have made.specially for all of us ELO fans...ELO forever...

  • Great video and great song !

    awesome!

  • Another comment to mirror what Edunator wrote. Yes, Jeff Lynne would give a tip of his hat to the quality of this video, well done dokkie2, you really have nailed it

  • Jeff Lynne had this unique knack for making lover's lament songs upbeat and snappy. I wish those fellas would get back together and do some more.

  • Lynne is God but this was a crime to not release for nearly 30 years. Maybe one of my top 5 ELO records. Roll on the end of the year for the new releases...

  • Hard to believe you made this video! It is so professional and respectful to ELO.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome

  • Agree. awesome band. Great sound. Typical ELO.

  • excellent video...thanks for posting this song. //dan

  • great vid! great song! can you do one for little town flirt which jeff did a version of?

  • Brilliant video dokkie2! Very entertaining! Goes along with the song! I love this song! Even though its not one of my favorite ELO tunes its still a brilliant song! Anything Jeff Lynne does is magnificient! He has the Midas touch in my opinion. Everything he touches, plays, or sings turns to gold!

  • Turns to stone you mean!

Ha-ha, sorry I had to do that!

  • I was born in 1970 sarah - don't you worry the fact that you are observing ELO means that you excellent taste in music.

My favorites are , all from the out of the blue album.

This particular song is a nice little practice warm up for all to partake of.

my compliments to the person who posted it.

  • I love ELO as well. I was born in 1982 and feel I missed all the great bands. It would have been so awesome to see ELO perform live, can't even imagine!!

  • ELO is the best band of all time... You can't deny it... ELO is way up there with The Beatles...

  • Doesn't matter what decade or era anybody is born in, this is the best music anybody can wish to hear on the face of the planet!!

Jeff Lynne is the greatest music maker ive ever heard.

    Brilliant Video!!!

  • Thanks you guys!

I was born a bit to late as well...

I've seen them play live only once in 1982 when I was 8 years old!

  • A good song and video.

But latitude 88 south is much colder !

  • @dokkie2 Consider yourself lucky... I grew up listening to "New World Record" but wasn't born until 1989.

  • You did such an incredible job on this. You deserve a medal or something!

The only thing I regret about being a kid is the fact that I was born WAY after ELO and never got to see them (but my mom did).

  • Man you can really tell that the editor put a lot of time behind this video. Nice job!

  • i'm finding out so many tracks here, such a shame they were left out. Love this one, thanks!

  • great performance

    we love ELO SINCE 1975

  • beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

I love ELO, Traveling, JL, all over the ELO

  • i can`t believe it is an outtake

it should have been on the original album

    instead of the whale

out of the blue is now complete.....30 years later

  • instead of the whale?

I think the Whale is absolutely brilliant!!

  • @aitken1971 I love the Whale!

  • Jeff Lynne is a music genious. Heard of ELO in 77, I was 11 years old. I sd, this is really good! then listened to all the previous yes "albums" of ELO & discovered Jeff writes & produces the songs.I bought all the albums. I followed his career w/Traveling Wilbys, G.Harrison, ZOOM. I appreciate his talent & love his music and I can't get enough of all the "Youtube" all of you put out. Its great to see many fans. My favorite band with Jeff Lynne. (Not ELO II)Thanks ELO!

  • wow, this is a great video!

love this song, it concludes the album so well! thanks for sharing!

  • BRILLIANT! I consider myself a HUGE ELO fan and have been for years,BUT I have never heard this song until now!!!!!! SHAME ON ME!!!!.Never mind, you've sorted that out for me.Thanks for posting

  • I was the same until about a year ago...Better late than never...Jeff never let us down!!!!

  • Heard this song on the new out of blue cd..very nice.

  • Genial esta cancion de Elo, o creo que Jeff Lynne en solitario ... Hoy baje el tema IN FOR THE KILL y me encanto.. una vez mas las armonias me ponen la piel de gallina.

  • Last week I bought this CD and this song is, as already mentioned, one of the bonus tracks. The CD is great!

I like your video dokkie2 and would not mind being a passenger on that spaceship! Thank you.

  • This song pisses all over anything ELO 2 could ever do.... but folks it's not 1977! More like 2007! It's the same drum set up as petty's highway companion.....Great though!!! Keep goin' Jeff!

  • It also pisses over anything on Zoom.

  • okay, a lot of comments on this, so i may have missed this q on it. where excactly is latitude 88 deg north? appears to be in north america, but.......

  • Awesome! Great video work too! //dan

  • Brilliant!

  • aqui desde salta, argentina yo pedropicauuu... quisiera que cuando muera mi espiritu vaya al paraiso de la electric o sea latitude 88 norhta difrutar de la musica eterna ....pedropicauuuu....

  • Thanx for your reply ,,,,, ok ok

  • Thought I had every record from ELO , but this one , I never heard before ,, !!!!!!!!

  • was written in 1977 when jeff was writing out of the blue but existed only as a demo...included as a bonus track on the 2007 remastered release of out of the blue. long live elo and jeff's music!

  • What about "confusion" dear SeanBreen ??? Ever listened to ??? cheers (m)

  • Another ELO classic, superb as always!! first time I heard it, I thought it sounded like the Beach Boys, similar harmonies.

  • A very good song,to me nothing is more exciting than a new offering from Jeff Lynne. The sound is brilliant and to think there is stuff we haven't heard yet! I'd love to meet him and say thank you for making such lovely music and giving us all so much joy! Mr Bluesky is brilliant but so is Jeff Lynne.

  • Classic ELO stuff. Right on.

  • This song is awesome, and you have done a truly jaw-dropping job with the video. It's perfect. Thanks.

  • Hey, you are right. This video creation rules just as hard as the music!

  • Not heard this before. Awesome

  • Never heard this one before...thanks for the post...timeless stuff...:)

  • the best song of the year (2007)

jeff please we need a new album

  • yeah, and a tour too.

  • This is my favorite song right now. Jeff Lynne- thank God we have him!!

  • What a great, long-hidden gem!!! Bravo ELO.

  • Great song. Jeff doing his thing....

    Richard

  • Jeff Lynne is awesome.OK this is a track from ages ago that he recently finished but it is brilliant.

  • How do you pick the best ELO track ?? - you can't, they are ALL great !! Go Jeff.. this song is one of your best..

  • Youtube is full of crap videos by wan***'s who have nothing better to do -- but this one is actually really good and themed perfectly to the late 70's video output of ELO. Also a great song from their best album!

  • thanx dude!

  • He is just a genius.when i was twenties he is the reason i live. Same now. I can remember when i first listen "secret message"that was fantastic itself. Can I meet him before i die????

  • Jeff's voice always makes me smile. He has that one of a kind voice. Perfect mix of Paul Mcartney, John Lennon and Bob Dylan. Jeff's voice never lost that powerful aspect.

  • What a cool video! You've done a great job, dok!

  • long live to jeff lynne.....one of the biggest, one of my musicaly idols.

  • One of the best songs of the year.

  • i think Jeff Lynne is a god

  • Another gread vid. This is the first time listening to this song and it's great. Jeff is the best and your videos do him justice.

  • Im 16 and I also love Bluebird is Dead, quite alot of my friends, who are into the modern clash of screamingandhittingyourfriendovertheheadwithanampmusic have said that some of the songs from On the Third Day are pretty cool for 1974, especially Dreaming of 4000 for some strange reason. It might be a weird coincidence.

I'd also like to see a decent video done for 'Julie Don't Live Here' and 'Yours Truly', please, the anime fanatics are driving me nuts!!!

  • Great video! As someone else said - 'ELO's music is timeless'. (But I'd like to defend 'Julie Don't Live Here' - would love to see a vid for that!)

    Veel bedankt, Dokkie! Fijne werk!

  • Lattitude is such a clever track, it sucks the listener in like all great songwriters do. All the ingredients are there, Jeff is the man...

  • Sometings forget to say:JL IS SUCH A VERY NICE MAN.!

    I know that.

  • hey peace!

  • 1967 dude is probably a Jeff Lynne stalker. Sure sounds like it. To him, Jeff is messiah-like who can do no wrong. I simply wish I could punch 1967 in the face with Rosie Vela's ring on!

  • oh shut the f**k up!

    stupid idiot

  • Thank you, dokkie2. Rock on!

  • Esta canción me recuerda al disco TIME, está muy bien

  • GREAT! wonderful! you did a fantastic job!

I will try to mae a video for "the way life´s the meant to be"(one of my favourite songs)

greetings from germany from a big big elo/jeff lynne fan.

ps:JEFF IS A VERY NICE AND FUNNY GUY!Talked to him.

  • This song is really a mix of 1977 and 1987. It very well fits on Out of the Blue. But its that Jeff Lynne drum sound: every Lynne album produced since 1987. Love this song though, its now one of my favorite ELO songs of all time.

  • so you spotted it then,Jeff does play drums but shall we say very limited, bev was left to his own devices for the ELO drums often overdubing with different room types,as I have said before every player in ELO made the sound ,you spotted the drums were not quite right, somebody should shake Jeff up and get the 78 line up back together

  • EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! I never get tired of this music!! The music industry just doesn't put out music like this any more.

  • u need to make a dern video for bluebird is dead, and everyone check my highlight film from my this football season, leave some comments please

  • im 16, and i know that this is the greatest band that will ever walk on this world, u fight bout bevan and lynne, but neone that was part of ELO was pure gold, end of story, but my favorite song still to this day will be bluebird is dead

  • You are very smart for being only 16, ELO is the greatest band...my favorite song is every song since 1974

  • That's because the music of ELO is timeless! :)

  • Does not sound like a 1977 song at all.

  • Incredible...brilliant song and a great video. I hope there will be enough material for another E.L.O album

  • wow,f in WOW

  • at last everyone has stopped arguing about the jeff elo pt 2 thing phew! the last lot of comments have been at least constuctive and pleasurable to read,so to ELO ,Jeff ,ELO PT2 ,the Orchestra ,thanks for the music.

  • Do you think if Bev didn't reform ELO Part II back in the late '80s, Armchair Theatre would have been the next ELO album?

  • nah,Bev asked Jeff to do another album, but he said he didn't want to do another in that concept ever again, but your right Armchair theatre sounds very ELO,but dosn't everything jeff does ie, set on you-George Harrison, won't back down-Tom Petty, etc etc,but whatever, still good music from all of them.

  • When I first heard Cloud Nine, I would have said that over half the songs sounded like ELO with only a 1 or 2 songs that sounded like George Hsrrison

  • point of clarification: Richard, Bev, Kelly, and everybody else who contributed to ELO's records-- all no doubt talented in their own right. But none of them could ever truly be ELO without Jeff (as amply demonstrated by ELO II), whereas the singer, songwriter, producer, and sonic architect of everything they did is more than capable of carrying on without them.

  • That may be true, but ELO Part II sure gave it a money for the money, the were great in their own right. They did have Louis Clark that provided the same sonic architecture on incorporating the strings into their music. But like you said, didn't have Jeff and the special talents he can only bring to the table. ELO part II continues on as just Orchestra today. I came across their website last night. I think part of the problem is that ELO just faded out of popularity in the mainstream

  • That should have been a run for the money. LOL

  • This should be the official music video for this song, I can't believe this song came from the late 70's. I think you should submitted it to Jeff Lynne. I only wish the original group (Jeff, Richard, Bev, and Kelly)would get back together. I miss ELO and ELO Part II

  • I too wish the original band were inclined to collaborate again, but haven't you left out one member? One of the real MOVErs and shakers?

  • Great video for a great song!

  • Love it, love it.

  • Lynne is a prick. Look what he did to Bev and Kelly and the rest! ok, he's a good songsmith...but it ends there. The man fucked over the whole orchestra, save Tandy. Maybe Tandy has photos of Jeff? Why else did he stay???

  • Life is Life, but as a musician, Jeff Lynne is God.

  • Hi Pennyloafer.

  • Rofl. Kthxbye. Jeff Lynne IS E.L.O....

  • True talent speaks for itself; all else is pretense.

Jeff Lynne IS the Electric Light Orchestra.

  • I love Jeff too, but one man does not make a music group. Each person bring his own talents...Bev on drums, Richard on keyboards, Kelly's incredible voice next to Jeff's, Mik on violin, and Jeff the songsmith and lead guitar. All those players at minimum made ELO

  • gotogoman.....Go whine somewhere else. You are parroting the same crap that you have seen on other sites or on here. You people that supposedly hate JL so much sure do like to watch his videos and listen to his music! Methinks thou dost protest too much. Maybe you really do like his music, you are just too wrapped up in your baseless hatred of him to admit it.

  • I agree entirely with your comments, after all, none of us are perfect! ELO are just about as good as it gets, to misquote - it's the song, not the singer!

  • fuck off lynne defender. Have you ever asked Kelly and/or Bev how they feel about Jeff? I have, and the answer aint pretty!

  • Well, you have proven your intelligence. I bet Bev and Kelly would really think highly of you for getting on here and telling people to "f*** off". I'm sure they told you to say that to me. You are such an intelligent defender of them. Go take your lies somewhere else. You are another person that hates JL so much that you get online and watch his videos. Makes no sense. Just keep talking. I'll keep laughing at you.

  • Oh such words! Try debating the fact he upset 2 longtime members so much (1 being co-founder)that they feel so strongly about him! Give me your limp-wristed explanation as to why Jeff is NOT a dink for what he did to them!

  • Your argument just does not hold up because they seem happy at this point. Kelly got money like he wanted in the court case against JL and Bev is doing fine with the band Bev Bevan's Move. So they have moved on in life, and so should you. This is my last response to you because you just don't want to let go which makes it like debating with a brick wall. Have a good time with your grudge.

  • I'll say when this ends, jerk! So now you acknowledge there was a lawsuit? Hmmm. Neither are doing "as fine" as in a proper reunion of ORIGINAL (heyday)ELO, which SHOULD be occurring right now. If not for Jeff.

YOU are the brick wall for being too dumb to know what truly happened with regards to your messiah, JL!!

And if you watch ZOOM, try not to vomit when the sex toys appear on stage. Rosie Vela? Pleeeeaassee!

  • Well, for you it will obviously never end so shut the hell up! I say it ends now....PERIOD. You better get your blood pressure checked soon. Goodbye.

  • you have the personality of Jeff! Controlling asshole who always thinks he's right...bye-bye!

  • The year you were born. so pay attention junior.

  • Thanks for excellent video and another great song. Can't do i-tunes on principle. Any other way to buy?

  • I-tunes is a great program! just give it a try... and don't believe all the pc users you've spoken with saying winamp is a better way to play your music library!! :)

by now the new remaster from 'out of the blue' must be available in the shops!

  • I've been unable to even locate the song via iTunes and it's making me nuts. This video's the first change I've had to hear the full song (many thanks, btw). Has anyone in the U.S. been able to buy via iTunes, and if so, please let me know what keywords you searched with.

  • Okay, I bought it through Wal-Mart's website and it is a very low price. That site is extremely easy to use and the downloads are very fast. I bought this song off of there the day it was released. Try it.

  • ta1k0....I bought it on Wal-Mart's music download site. They have every song you can imagine and the site is easy to use. Just go to walmart dot com and click on their "download music" link.

  • Fantastic, dokkie. thanks for the tip off via demonoid. Excellent work here.

  • anyone know about sales yet,has it charted anywhere?

    I did my bit anyway....

  • "yeah, how about "julie don't live here" theres no video to that one"

So. Julie don't live here is a terrible song. It is nowhere in the class of this gem.

  • Awesome Job Dokkie

  • great work dokkie...

    what year is this from...
