Thank you Cotyart! I'm glad to read a sensible comment about this art form. I'm afraid most viewers are not familiar with art, thus need to share their reaction with disgust and excuses for not liking it. I say to them, keep your comments to yourself. Unless you have valid criticism!
@calicut21 I will stick to the advice we got from local tree experts, thanks. To date there is no evidence of any of our local trees suffering any consequences from yarnbombing. If you are worried about trees though, there is evidence that burning oil to generate electricty damages some trees, along with fertilizers/pestisides and salty compounds used on sidewalks, roads and highways during the winter.
Usually it says somewhere, but I can't see it, but it's one of YouTUbe's audio swaps they provide for use when you upload a video. sorry :( I can't remember who it is.
GREAT VID! If anyone wants to get involved in a yarn bombing project in Australia June 2011 check out my loom knitting tutorial (easy to learn to knit) on it called Yarn Bombing: Lanterns for The Light in Winter Festival Melbourne Australia 2011. check my channel. Happy knitting everyone!
Too bad that here in S.TX the big thing is actual graffitti..and IF there were to be some of this awesome yarn bombings they would 't last., someone would be stealin them all. *sigh* I wonder if this happens elsewheres? THATS a whole lotta yarn used..especially on that bus which is soooooo cool!
@sisdtx ps. people who remove other people's street art aren't exactly the type who appreciate any kind of graffiti or street art. they are either elitist, jealous, or conservative types.
My name is Billy Paul. We’re making a film about the Yarn Bombing phenomenon, otherwise known as Knit Graffiti. We are interested in borrowing, or if need be, renting your pre-made knitting artifacts for our film. Please let us know if you’re interested in participating by either loaning us knitting artifacts and/or agreeing to be interviewed. We will be shooting in various neighborhoods in Brooklyn in late April – beginning of May.
Nearly all the camo barbies are on dayton Street. The one of the doll number 0.24 is in graffiti alley ann arbor michigan. sorry, I should have not included it.

@sisdtx No, our's stay up until we cut them down a year or so later ;) People here seem to really enjoy them as much as our "actual" graffiti ;)

Someone at work told me about this... I would love to know a little more about the project! I just imagine random knit-bys and slow speed chases...
