Everyone has a person in mind that they wish they could have met. For me,Mae West was that person..even in her late years. Just to have been in her presence for a little while would have been an awesome experience. Even in her seventies she could frighten chat show hosts to distraction just by looking at them, and clearly revelled in their obvious discomfort as they struggled to keep control of the interview. One hell of a woman that's for sure and we will never see the like again.
I forgot to say that my father was in that room on that night working as a bus boy. He always said she was the kindest person he ever met. Lovely! A real STAR
As Mae West might have quipped to present day suitors. "Don't get online, get inline!" I have been researching Mae West's life and times and her legacy. Entitled "In Search of Mae West," I hope to have it published in mid 2011.
Quality is gone in film these days and music! we have lost the spirit that brought great actors and actress,s before our eyes. Now we have empty entertainers

There is nothing this glamorous in Hollywood today. The word "star" is used way too much when it shouldn't be now.

@FLDiamond04 I agree, there was the star of yesturyear that was bigger than life, & now we have famous people who call themselves " stars ".

1:44 - "...Mae West you were romantically linked to once...the mind boggles"
The way Liberace looks like a deer in the headlights. Priceless.

heh, and then you notice he almost tells him off?
"now thats taking it a bit far" is a bit like saying "watch your step" ... remember Liberace lived his life firmly in the closet
