  • Very bad video.

    Wim/Heerenveen/NL

  • Interesting layout - nice job! It's good to see the various construction stages. With all your work into the layout, it's a shame you couldn't do better with the video; maybe next time: use a tripod, don't pan the camera very much (too much like a garden hose) and refer to a master layout map as intro to each section. Just think it thru a bit, as you obviously did when building that impressive layout.

    Cheers,

    Keo

  • how much you cost for everything dude?

  • @destripatror I haven't been really keeping good track. I'd say maybe 4,00 - 5,000 over 9 years. Maybe more. I really don'w know.

  • Beautiful layout!

  • I hope you wear a mask. You won't be breathing too well later in life.

  • Great looking mountain section and some innovative solutions to problems.

  • ahahahhahahhaha down u go u terd hahahahaha! nice layout hope your critters dont ruin it!

  • Nice layout! Next thing to invest in is a tripod for your filming :)

  • where and how did you start this?

  • How did you get the pink foam to look like that?

  • @ClanLeaderINP I used brown flat latex paint and Acrylic washes of black, burnt umber and burnt sienna.

  • you have an awsome lay out must have taken you ages to build

are all your mountains made out of foam

  • Awesome layout and funny cats

  • ho or n?

  • @trainlover479 It's n scale

  • yow did you get your foam like that, its all indented and mountain looky because in your other videos it makes it look good please tell me thanx :3

  • how did you get the foam like that all dented and stuff in your other videos wen u have it painted it looks so nice please tell me thanx :3

  • Haha i call my cat a turd to when hes in the way!

  • What did you use to score all of the pink foam to make your rock walls? What pattern did you use?

  • Lots of tunnels. I like it! Good job.

  • Do you operate realisticly or just to watch the trains run? I'm trying to decide that for my own railroad and have been asking around for opinions. By the way you have a really nice layout and beutiful scenery!!

  • @dep92 Right now I just watch the trains run. I need to do a lot more work before do any operations

  • @dep92 What do you mean by "do you operate your trains realistically" . I'm asking because I would like to have a purpose for setting up my layout but can't come up with any ideas.

  • @LorenzoHenderson Well I've read about car cards and waybills, and switching order sheets and the use of fast clock's. All to make a model railroad run like the real thing. I have not used any of these YET, but I plan on using the car card and waybills on the layout I'm working on now. Feel free to send me a message, I have a couple web sights I've found that explain things better than I can and 1 has free downloads for the car cards and waybills.

  • @dep92 Please send me the websites you have so I can take a look and get some understanding for myself

  • nice cat

  • Great job man! I loved the cat, he looks just like mine. I had to keep my cat "occupied" (outside) why I shot my youtube videos! lol.

  • i have question... my railway doesnt work so well... there is power on some parts of it but then on other power dissapears :( i have video about it, please watch and help :) thanks

  • @saletrans123 I looked for your video and found nothing but crap, sorry....rap. Where is it?

  • @RadioTrainman i removed it long ago :P i fixed the problem ;)

  • Wow how did you make the mountin's?

  • lucky.

  • i love the spiral tunnels.

  • brilliant layout mate keep up the good work 5star

  • Your layout is amazing! I presume you have access to the tunnels under the mountains - a derailment in there would be catastrophic!

  • Yeah I can get to the tunnels from underneath.

    e

  • Nice layout if you need any n scale are ho stuff at a great price give us a ring bizarre bazaar gift and hobby shop ..thanks louis 251 224 16 95

  • i love how you layed the track out to wrap around the furnace its impressive!

  • you turdd lol

  • Kato is the besssssssst!

  • chill, this gives up his time to show us how to do this. He has a great layout

  • Ok now this is weird, I call my cat a turd all the time...... lol, must be a model railroader thing huh, lol... nice layout byt he way, I wish I had that much room to run train in.

  • i just love how the train just rides so smoothly on the tracks. you got me staring all deep into the computer screen as if i'm mesmerized. that was really cool. and nice camera angles, movements, and shots as well.

  • Dude that is one nice layout!!

  • you should see the miniatur wunderland its german but it massive

  • I've seen videos ot the layout on YouTube. It's really impressive

  • That sounds about right. I'm assuming that doesn't include your vast collection of motive power and rolling stock? ;)

  • Actually I don't have that large a collection. Probably less than 100 cars, 8 locos at the most. I've just been gradually picking thins up as I go along....

  • I love the intricity of your layout. Each portion has its own flavor and attitude persay. If you could "guess-timate" here, what do you think would be the final production cost of your layout, once completed?

  • Hard to say since the costs have been spread out over the years. Maybe it's cost 4,000 dollars so far.

  • OMFG THAT CAT IS ENORMOUS!!!!!!!!!

  • wow this layout is huge!!!!!!!

But i was wandering how you texture the foam to look like rock like you have right now? plz help me!!!

  • Go to my Channel Page and look at the videos in the playlist called : Model Railroad Scenery using Extruded Foam

  • my cat is a turd too and ive got 3 cats there piss anoyin coz they try pushing my trains off the track so when i go away from my railway i got to close door or wen i go out of attick they can open door i hide my trains in tunnels and they wait for them to come out

  • hi thanks m8. Have you got any other good tips for building a layout that you could share as you have done a really good job on yours and seem to know your stuff when it comes to trains. Thanks M8

  • hi m8 nice job on the layout there. Its bloody mint. I just started building my own. Just wondering did you paing strait onto the foam or did you plaster it first? Thanks man

  • I put a little spakeling on the foam to hide the seams and then painted it.

    E

  • Nice

  • hi i was just wondering over here in the uk i buy from hornby but i hate there diesel locos would you be able to tell me what company does the ones you have and the price for an average union paciffic/santa sd40 8 axle would be? because my mate said there about $279 each... is that rue as over here you can buy a set of like 2 trains a full circle of trak plus a lot of rolling stock

  • They're Kato SD70 MACs. The go for about 75 US Dollars without a decoder.

  • cool do they run on 00 gauge track and would they run of my power supply which is a standard hornby dcc controller although it can power non dcc trains if so would you be selling anyit doesnt matter if not but ivf so how much also i dont mind about how powerfull it is i just really like the look of them also what maje are they and i would sorta like one that looks like the on at 3.40 could you tell me the name of that

  • i have an ho scale model train and sometimes my cat jumps on 4x8 model train lay out and destroys the scenery, trains and cars like godzilla, lol

  • Congrats on the layout. It's excellent. You're an inpiration to all of us.

  • Awesome !!

My dream of my own layout died about 10 years ago !!!

BUT .... after many attempts ... many moves .... MANY CATS !!!

I am happy with my club layout

Oh well maybe when I retire I'll get the basement layout

  • Hi, your layout works great, I put all your video in my favorites, will be building a o scale layout, and would like to use you tricks, with the foam, it really came out great, nice job,

  • Do you have any steam engines if so make a video of them

  • I don't have any stem engines myself but I know people who do. Next time I have them over to run trains I'll need to shoot some video.

    E

  • HAHA! That's nice! Calling your cat a turd. lol!

  • do you have any videos on DCC engines, how they work and how much they are?

  • i love your layout and your technique videos! they help me alot.....but I have a question do you use dcc?

  • Yes I do. EasyDCC

  • what does DCC stand for anyway?

  • Digital Command Control

    E

  • thanks

  • I like how you ring the perimeter of your room so as to not take up all your space, provide easy access to all your rails, and still have an impressive layout. Your layout thinks outside the box. I think a lot of people think you have to have your entire layout on a single board. I have found that it takes real creativity in this kind of layout to fill in the empty space in the middle. Your layout solves the problem and doesn't waste space. Thanks for posting. Some great ideas on your page to.

  • Well, what helps me get away with not having peninsulas in the room is switching to N scale. I used to model in HO but I could not do what I wanted to do with the space constraints I had.

    E

  • awesome!!!
