i met diego in 2005 in las vegas,i was selling him a piece of jewelry. we became friends.he was very kind and normal also quite in his own way.he gave my father and i front row seats with press pass for casamayor 3.he was somthing else, i will miss him and always remember what he did for me.rest in peace diego.
he is what boxing needed. A warrior willing to fight, getting up when lesser men would have conceded defeat. What a true warrior, till we can see him again...R.I.P
diego was a cool guy, i used to talk to him at the fights all the time. he LOVED his fans dearly. i remember him telling me that he "does this for his fans" i can remember thanking him and the smile that he gave me. R.I.P. Diego thanks for being a pal and for the wars!
Yeah I've met some pros (the A holes won't even talk 2U) But there R some who R regular guys who happen to have extreme talent. I've actually had a world champion ask me "how did I look?" & another well known fighter come out off a win to sit ringside & asked "where'd you get that hotdog" These types of guys who care about fan make you continue to care about the sport. RIP Diego (Im still U on Xbox Fightnight)
As a true fan of boxing one MUST tip his hat to the warriors of the game and when you speak of such you must include this man. He simply embodied all of the qualities that you love to see in a boxer. He had the grit of anyone with grit. Win or lose he ALWAYS put his all into his fights. Boxing is now better because Diego Corrales laced up his gloves. Boxing is now in mourning because his gloves will never be laced again. Thank you 'chico' for trailblazin'!!
