the real magic here is the emotional story at the begining about the rose petals. when they are produced at the end it triggers an emotional reaction. the rest is just sleight of hand and a simple way of making it look like he loses her card in the deck...

Whats the point of knowing how its done...that information is only useful if you had the skills to use it.....there are hundreds of tutorials on youtube for every sleight he does...buy a deck of cards and learn everything and make up your own routines if the methedology interest you so much.

You say "Please do not post any methodology, this trick is to be enjoyed."...but the enjoyment from magic tricks is understanding the methodology. Without that, it's all the same. Trying to figure out the techniques used, and then discovering the actual techniques, is what makes magic interesting. Otherwise, every magic trick is just like a mystery novel with the last 10 pages missing. All buildup and no payoff.

To truly enjoy a magic trick is to both not know how it works and to not WANT to know.

Imagine reading the last 10 pages of your mystery novel first... The rest of the book would be pointless.

Having said that, I concede that a truly great trick is one that gets-one-over even on the people sitting there desperately trying to figure out what's going on, rather than just letting it happen.

Actually, I spoke incorrectly. There are multiple ways to truly enjoy a magic trick, dependent on the viewer. Some viewers truly enjoy magic tricks by not knowing and not wanting to know. Some viewers (like myself) truly enjoy magic tricks by wanting to know and then knowing. I was just driven to comment by the implicit assumption in the comment "please do not post any methodology, this trick is to be enjoyed" that somehow knowing how a trick is done is diametrically opposed to enjoyment.

That analogy only makes sense if you don't see the magic trick, but once you've seen it, it is disengaging to not read the last pages (or at least try to understand the methodology of the trick).

To enjoy a magic trick is to try to understand how it works, or at least, that is what Derren Brown says (in Tricks of the Mind, the book), and what I agree with.

A Magician's job is not to present puzzles, but entertainment, to cause spectators to enjoy the experience so much their too distracted to worry about methods. So perhaps, it is 'magicians' to blame.

if he had come out earlier, before he made a name for himself and gained diffrentiation and respect for his act - then it would have been an all to easy lable to use (esp from the gutter press).

by keeping his personal life to himself for so long - he has become well known entirely on the merits of his skills,knowledge and writeing.

Umm... more pan-sexual. Bi-sexual implies that the someone prefers both sexes. Pan-sexual is where sex simply doesn't matter.

If you think about how to you hair colour probably isn't the biggest defining factor as to whether you like someone. It's more of a general characteristic. Pan-sexual people see gender as just another characteristic. I hope that makes sense. Lol.
