  • I think it should say Dont buy from backyard breeders, instead adopt from a shelter or at the very least Buy from a Reputable REgistered breeder :)

  • greates dog ever

  • YOUTUBE IS FOR VIDEOS

  • My friend from the Czech Republic had two of these dogs. They were both national prize winners. I can't remember the names.

  • i think instead of putting don't buy dogs, you should put don't breed dogs because ones that were not put into a shelter but brought into this world need a home to =)

  • @Dazladferretman Because I bought my Border Collie mix and theres no better dog for me, I hope to rescue a dog in the future though what ever breed that may be, any which need a home and have a perfect match of personality with my current dog. any ways beautiful wolfdogs

  • i love wolf dogs!

  • what a majestic bastard

  • wonderful beast!!

  • beautiful vid, beautiful dogs! :') does anyone knows how much it will cost me to get a czechoslovakian wolf dog, please? :)

  • nejkrásnější psi....

  • I have three Czechoslovakian Wolf Dogs In my garden. They are well behaved and the female has had two litters. One more and she may die. :(

  • Nice dog :)

  • This is our national breed, I am Czech. This dog is not for everyone. Buy it, but if you have time for him. It's half wolf. This breed has been breeding since 1955, last modified by: Slovak Republic, I do not know when it was. But I know it was after 1990. It's still a wolf. He was bred for the Czechoslovak People's Army as a border guard dog. Who just want to buy. :)

It is a great breed of dog has a high stamina is smart, can handle himself. He is strong compared to other breeds of dogs larger.

  • @hanswaffen1 It's true it's not a dog for everyone, (definietelly not for beginners) but it's not true that it's half a wolf. Contemporary CSVs have about 25-30% of wolf genes and are about 7 or more generations away from crossings with wolves (BTW only 4 wolves were used to create the breed) Besides the breed underwent a tough selection in the Czechoslovakian Army and later on, so they are not wolfdogs in the US meaning, but a breed of predictable, independant and sometimes too smart dogs. ;)

  • @hanswaffen1 Yeah, but the last modification by Slovak republic was not allowed from Czech side, also the last stand of this breed is of 1983. Everything else is not Czechoslovakian wolfdog....

  • Its Czechoslovakian wolfdog, not czech wolfdog.

  • @LukeeH0 Yes, official name is Czechoslovakian wofldog, cause we were federation, but it is really CZECH woldog and was bred by Ing. Hartl

  • @xjevgenijx He, hlavne že si píšeme anglicky :D

  • @xjevgenijx nemozem ti oponovat, nestudujem vela tychto veci, len som si to letmo pozrel co ma zacal fascinovat "nas domaci vyrobok" :)

To chce

  • @dzava *........ trpělivost a hodně zkušeností.

Není to jediné plemeno zkřížené s vlkem.

  • i want one of this wolfdogs, are they expensive??, i guess they are but how much??

  • @dogfightvj 400-1000 €.

  • @dogfightvj It depends on the breeder.

  • nice video! the first picture is from slovenia =)

  • NICE VIDEO!!!

  • i want a wolfdog!

  • @worriorcatsrock13 Are you sure about that? they arent like normal dogs. require alot more training and work. have you had a dog like that? like a german shepherd? they are also working dogs. and if i remember right czechoslovakian wolf dogs are shepherd and wolf. the wolfdog need to run ALOT. but if you train them right they are great dogs. good att pulling and searching:P

  • i have one and its the best dog i can imagine. cant be better.

  • They appear to be very domesticated...maybe they are truly NOT wolves, but are genetically beautiful looking type of Sheperds native to this region of Europe.

  • is this breed legal in the usa

  • why shouldnt I buy dogs? So how could I get them? Yeah it losts its natural pack of dogs, but on the other hand it gets loving owner who gives him love and training, other members of family, we breed animals like goats, sheep, poultry etc. GSD of mine leads very satisfied life.. I think. So it gets place in different pack.

  • PES je taky jenom člověk

  • I wish I could have one, But they are noe leagal in my land ! ._.

  • preco ze czech wolf dog??? ved je to ceskoslovensky. co si nebodaj cesi zvlast spravili vlastny odchov?

  • @KoskoSVK

Ano je to Československý a né český

  • I got a dog from a mission trip in West Virginia. The whole lot of them were being abused kind of.

  • i got 2 dogs taken out of teh street

but someday il buy a dog and that will be CZW wolfdog

or somebody knows where i can pick up him from shelter in croatia :P

  • I LOVE these dogs! ^-^ They're my favorite breed besides rottweilers <3

  • I bought my dog and it has been the best investment on my life.

  • @bpayt13 He's saying to save a shelter dog instead. :/

  • @Mumble785 - ok

Caf.

  • they are beautiful, i want one!

  • beautiful, and yes, mostl likely a true czech wolfdog. Please come view my puppies. we have a timberwolf hybrid, and several other neat animals. we should start charging admission to our home!

  • If she/he is the one form the pictures, yes, he is a wolfdog.

  • Canis Lupus=wolf, and Canis Familaris=Dog. The wolf is the the same genus and species. It is not a different genetic animal, but, here's the BIG but, the FLIGHT response and the friendliness of the dog, and ability to recognize human behaviour and the retaining of juvenille characteristics is what makes the dog a DOG and not a dog. This is a beautiful animal, but a wolf by any other name. They lose the natural fear of man,of real wolves, and therefore more dangerous

  • @alexnds1 You speak of what you don't know. The only way this breed will become dangerous is if you mistreat it, which will make any dog a liability.

  • There is absolutely no reason to cross wolf blood back into the domestic Dog! The dog originates from the wolf, but it took centuries to breed the animal today we know as the dog away from the animal we know as the wolf. The dog maintains the infantile like puppy like characteristics, even as an adult. It is not aloof. It is social and a tame animal. A wolf is a wild animal with a flight response, as suspiciousness of people. The genetics of the wild blood overwhelm the tame blood

  • May I ask? The dog is vlčák? I know German vlčák, but no czechoslovakian vlčák. I see the dog for the first time.

  • @Elunaj

    Czech / English

    pes - dog

    vlk - wolf

    vlčák - wolfdog

german shepherd + euroasian wolf = czechoslovakian wolfdog :-)

  • @Ackreti

    Thank for elucidation.

  • These dogs are agazing! Awesome!

  • krásných psů :) <3

  • i belive my dos is a czech wolf-dog but shes adopted so i cant prove it - and i am aginst buying a dog only adopting and while there are tons of racial dogs waiting for adoption just without papers i dont think there are czech wolf-dogs wating for adoption

  • @dewsdew you may be able to have her DNA tested to find out her exact mix.

  • @dewsdew

When you adopt, you still buy the dog. XD They don't just give you the dog for free.

  • @dewsdew but they specie is extreamely rare, and is threatened to disappear due to crosses with other species such as the huskies or other ones who will bring genetic problems for them.

you will never find one for adoption or to buy in a regular petshop, because few people really cares to protect this breed. and if you have a congratulations for taking care of this animal.

  • @dewsdew

yes, there are czech wolfdogs waiting for adoption, in fact quite a few... You could check the global website for czech wolfdog owners and - lovers. it's wolfdog.org

  • No its not Czech Wolfdog but Czechoslovakian Wolfdog. And German Sheperd were crossed with wolves and in their begining they got much from the wolves then today. So It is more dog then wolf ïn these days with specifications, but these dogs are really beautifull and life with them is fantastic. I am from Czech Republic and I am so proud of our national breed.

  • @dastymilibubak,

as you know, 'Czech wolfdog' is the shortcut name being used for the czechoslovakian wolfdog. ;-)

And not to spoil your party, but the dog actually originates from the Slovakian part of the former CSSR. :-p

Just joking, you should be proud of this wonderful breed. If you'd look at my uploaded movies, you'd see, how much we love the dog!

  • @Ottokar0712

Ok Mr. Hartl was from Czech he started to breed Czechoslovakian Wolfdog and after that Slovaks continue in breeding CSSR was Czech and Slovak together and after welvet revolution they split.

  • @dewsdew Would you rather adopt a baby then having one with your partner?I for one prefer to have a baby of my own and maybe after to adopt a baby. It's egocentric, but it's human nature.Adopting is a fantastic gesture but having your own kid it's majestic.

  • I may assure your there ARE czw waiting for adoption! Czw with papers and without papers!

  • @Zadora44 Where can I find one? I'm in the states and can't seem to find any.

  • @StickandRuddur As far as I know there is one breeder in the USA (at least whom I can safely recommend) - Galomy Oak. In the USA the breed is called Czechoslovakian vlcaks to distinguish it from wolfdogs (dog/wolf hybrids with random combinations of wolf and dog genes)

  • @dewsdew its czechoslovakian ..no czech i know we are little state :D

  • Československý vlčák je nejlepší pes jakého znám! :-))

  • they are just sooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!

  • The dogs that really resemble a wolf are the wolamutes aka wolf/malamute puppies!

  • Their awfully pretty, but I would be afraid of its manner, or if it got out someone would mistake it as a wolf, and call authorities, or shoot it.

  • Que hermosos animales. Felicitaciones

  • Seriously doubt theses dogs are even half wolf, they look like grey sable GSD to me.

  • @bioferret That's what I think too! They need Malmute or Husky in the mix to achieve a more wolf like appearance. This dog looks just like a shepherd with wolf markings, but a wolf does not have the conformation of a GSD. Maybe one day I'll create a dog that resembles a wolf more.

  • @bioferret you really need to look into the breed they are far from a sable GSD the conformation would be WAY off

  • Now this is a dog, not one of those rat-dog hybrids you see running around that bark and snarl at everything. I you want something smaller that this get a cat.

  • When I saw it first time in my life, I said: "Look, there's a wolf!" I mean, I know a lot about dogs, but this one surprised me. :-)))) Beautiful animal. :-)

  • Stop saying "GSD."

Yes it was bred from the Shepherd, but the wolf part is Czech, and it was done in Czechoslovakia.

    110% CZECH Dog. =]

  • @n1b3luNg you dumb shit wolves for this mixing with german sheepard where taken from carpatian mountine curve which is based in slovakia (not in CZ they don´t have carpatian mountines) you imbecile.... You are form US you don´t know a bid about this breed but talking like you where one from the scientists which cultivate them... its more slovak than czech but it does not matter cos it is CZECHOSLOVAKIAN ! ! !

  • @johannizacia1 what does being from a certain country have ANYTHING to do with knowing a breed....nothing

  • @johannizacia1 :lesson in Geography:Carpatian mountains run through Bukhovina, Ukraine! This Carpatian wolf is common to Rumania, Moldavia,Ukraine and former Chechkoslovakia

  • They look sorta like how GSDs USED to without the annoying sloped back and Abnormally big heads, but with wolf markings.

  • Beautiful breed!

  • smart and good looking..............is this belongs to GSD.

    or this is GSD?

  • 1:08 it looks like it wants to eat the little baby

  • fukin gay music

  • this is slovak dog, not czech

  • Comment removed

  • Slovak dog...

  • to je predator

  • nice D: i don't like the shore hair they get from the Shepard in them though... my hybrid is black and brown with almost peach eyes.. he is all shaggy and what not

  • are you saileing them?!?!?

  • they are beautiful

  • Awesome! They are almost wolves! Even eyes of the puppy are so blue as wolven puppies have.

Sometimes they have deep blue colour of eyes for all their life.

  • Who says dogs aren't people?!

    Ja chem takeho too!

  • Who says dogs aren't people?!

    Ja chem takeho too!

  • This an amazing breed! Help it to become a fully recongnized breed of the AKC!!!

In response to alexnds1: This breed is not just a hybrid. It is a recongnized breed of the United Kennel Club, AKC Foundation Stock Service, and FCI.

  • These dogs are amazing. Help them become an AKC recongnized breed!!!

In response to alexnds1: This breed is not just a hybrid. It is reconginized as a purebred dog by the United Kennel Club, AKC Foundation Stock Service, and FCI.

  • @Trixie822 I am well aware this is a recognized breed. I am also aware that it is no longer a 50/50 cross of pure wolf and GSD, but rather, a multi-generational cross, and the breed was "fixed' to breed true, by line breeding and inbreeding, as is necessary to form a breed. I still don't think this is a family pet, any more than a Dingo is a family pet, althought the Australian blue heeler has Dingo blood. Wild animals belong in the WILD.

  • @alexnds1: I also think wild animals belong in the wild, however, this breed is just like other dogs. As you know wolves were domesticated and over time because the average dog we have as pets today. This breed isn't any different, it just has closer ties to its wolf ancestors. I think that this closer tie should mean only experienced owners handle this dog.

  • @alexnds1 Czech Wolf Dogs are dogs - that is why they have dog in the name. If you know anything about the history of this breed, they are several generations removed from the wolf. They are considered dogs. Even a recent hybrid can be gentle - it depends on the individual. Do your research before you condemn a breed. Too many innocent dogs are being killed under breed bans.

  • @SilentDarkWolf . It took 40 years to domesticate silver foxes, for Russian Scientist. Domestication includes flight response and retaining juvenile characteristics. You telling me that in 5 or 6 generations they did with wolf hybrid what took 40 years to do with foxes? This was with heavy inbreeding and linebreeding and no outcrossing.

  • @alexnds1 your comment about children being seen as non pack members shows you know NOTHING of pack mentality. Do some research before you talk.

  • @alexnds1 Wolf-Dog hybrid has a stronger pack drive than a domestic dog. It physically pushes lower ranking pack members into place, with teeth. It sees children as lower ranking "pups" in the pack. Plus, it also has a very strong prey drive. Anything fleeing away rapidly is seen as prey item. Unlike the domestic dog, like the border collie for example, where the need to chase prey, but not go in for the "kill" is bred out, in the wolf, the last step of the "hunt" game is not bred out.

  • This breed looks good marking wise but its clearly looks a lot like a shepherd, they outta throw some husky or malamute in the mix to give it a more wolf appearance or throw more wolf in the mix.

  • sorry about the username. its my sisters. mine messed up. Anuke is my wolf dog and he is HUGE!!!!! he has a window place like that one. wehave a pond too. if any hunters come on my land, then Anuke takes care of it. he gets along so well with the other horses and animals on the farm. i love my BIG fur ball.

  • My baby has the same light colors as the puppies in this video, I hope she turns out just as pretty. Mine is german shepard/husky/wolf mix.

  • very nice

  • This is most beautiful dog.

No, it´s not a dog. Its a wolfdog.

  • @LukeeH0 you said it!

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of the most beautiful breeds I've ever met! =) I would LOVE <3 to have one ^^

  • @alexnds1 This is no hybrid, it is done by purpouse- german shepard was too overbreed, they target for best of german shepard but with no inborn defects- they tried to create healthier race of dogs- i am czech and we are using those dogs for service. And child is always seen as member of pack, it is not tru . Most attacks are done by USA tterier - stafordshier terrier and pittbull. You shold check all arguments befor saynd this crap.

i am so happpy to share my life with them :)

  • they are beautiful

  • @pelewi aj jaaaa :)

  • guys this a Single Jig music!!!!!

  • These dogs are amongst the greatest creatures in the world. I will have my Saarloos puppy in 3 weeks and cant wait. Gonna be hard raising it in a big town but I have so much love for them! Wish me luck!

  • wolfdog may be taller but they are supposed to be real slender, from what i read. males max 65lbs? isnt male german shepard @ 85 max? i mean, what they want, not what they actually hit.

  • how large are they compared to a siberian husky , im thinking of getting one of these beutiful creatures

  • Well males are min. 65 and females min. 60cm tall and as for weight M - over 25kg F- over 20kg.

But they are harder to teach than ordinary dog ( because around 6- 7% of wolf blood flow through their veins) But they are very loyal, not to their master but to the whole family (wolfpack) They have sharper senses and showed extreme endurance (100km run, average speed around 12-15kph without beign tired) With proper training they are great SAR dogs.

  • are they larger than huskys , ive heard that you cannot own one if it doesnt have another dog from the same species living with it

  • Yeah they are larger than Huskys, Husky maximum weight and height are Czechoslovakian wolfdog minimum. Friend of mine friend had one czw and he was 72cm tall and weighted around 32kg, average husky have 58cm and 20kg :)

  • ive heard they are bundles of carnage , alot of people say they are dangerous , but ive also heard they are amongst the greatest of dog friends , which ones are truly the description of their temperament

  • @AdiF50Ronaldo7 It depends on their training. There isnt a "bad breed" or a "good breed". This isnt a dog for beginner but if youll spend some some time with him its a great obedient and loving dog :)

  • what may be a problem is a beginner where to own one of these dogs , also whats the differences between the czeck and the saarloos wolfhound , im not sure which one would be better , ive heard czecks are larger and more bold

  • whats the difference between czeck wolfhounds and saarlooswolfhonds

  • @AdiF50Ronaldo7 I dont have any personal experience with saarlooswolfdogs but from the texts on the internet I can say that they are pretty similar.

  • ok , i know they are similar but i cant find a direct comparison on the internet , i can only find general comparisons , anyways thanks

  • Joj jedného si raz kúpim určite :) Zatiaľ mám Aljašského malamuta tiež nádherného.

  • beautiful creature! I wants one! 8D

  • 5*****

  • is a GSD bigger than a wolf dog?

  • Usually not...

  • no. standar height for male GSD is 60-65 cm, and for wolfdog there is no upper limit, but lower limit is 65 cm (for male)...

  • nádhernej pes, ale prej pěkně vostrej!!!

  • krasne psy, raz si takeho kupim, fakt nadhera :))

  • how can i get one in the u.s.? im just assuming they arent here cause all i here from you guys is just about czechoslovakia. and are they expensive???

  • @teelow777 Well so far I found only this- galomyoak(dot)com

The price depends on pedigree but generally its 250-500 dollars. But its not a dog for beginner and you have to be patient while training because its got a lot of wolf

  • awesome, thanks!

  • pls jmeno musici ??

  • ooo moc hezkyyy

  • These dogs are absolutely gorgeous. One day when we have lots of room to run...

  • wow pause at 47 thats the biggest bitch I've ever seen!

  • I love the music from Lord of the dance and I love czechoslovakian wolfdogs. That makes it a perfect video!! :)

  • Krasny Ovciaci

  • Krásný vlčáci ! :)))

  • Prepac mas pravdu pomylil som sa :))

  • How would this type of dog do in florida climate?

  • I'm sorry BUT NO!! The tamaskan is NOT a wolfdog or a pure wolf!!! The tamaskan dogs are domestic dogs but they are the most wolf looking dogs!!!

  • The utonagan, shikoku and Northern Inuit can look far more wolflike than the Tamaskan
