Fangirls just ruin everything. Imagine how you'd feel if 90% of your fans were fat anime nerd girls who thought you were 'cute', and didn't acknowledge you for your musical talent (I am a guy, but sadly I know this is true with most japanese bands).

I think they've done good in moving away from visual kei; their new sound is much better, and they are obviously better now, or else they wouldn't be accepted into events such as the Rock AM Ring, or Family Values.

Actually, Dir En Grey is a very artistic band, their music isn't the same old crap over and over, Like some shitty singer like Brittney Spears, They have different styles to their music, with your harder more screaming metal sound like in Clever Sleazoid, and the more vocal glorifying music such as Conceived Sorrow, and The Pledge, which has made their newest C.D. a great buy for any Dir En Grey fan.

Actualy, Kyo has been found guilty of stealing the vast majority of his lyrics from a published yet little known poet. I forget the poet's name... The story was pulled after the record label paid the news organisations to drop the story. Still, the majority of Japanese fans found out about it and have turned on Dir~En~Grey. That's why they only seem to tour America anymore... because their american fans don't get the news as fast and have lower standards anyway.

So far it's beleaved that Withering to Death is posibly the first album they did wich didn't have stolen lyrics in it, and it is an admerable peice of artwork. I realy wish it was their swan song, personaly. I don't see any creativity or originality in their latest works. The lyrics are complete crap... just random ranting and cursing mostly. Musicaly they are becoming messy and overly simplified.

Actualy, homosexuality and bisexuality were considered perfectly normal in ancient Japan as well. They only started to get tight-assed about sexuality when the Chinese philosophers and western religions started visiting their country and screwing with their values. Now their culture is beginning to open back up again, though it was already very tolerant compared to just about every other civilisation.

It's a really great song, I've done interperetations for it on websites before, and it's really well done, but he's gone much deeper many of times, like Macabre for example, or Kasumi, I find those songs to be much better examples of Kyo's great writing abilities.
