  • Someone NEEDS to change the name of this video. YOU SUCK CHO' Weddings505!!! Stereotypical Bastard, you need to open your eyes and grow up.

  • I AM OF CHEROKEE BLACKFOOT AND MVSKOKEE BLOOD AND AND THIS IS NOT OF ANY OF OUR WAYS NOR IS THIS A REAL MEDICINE MAN, NOR IS THE GROOM AN INDIAN OF ANY KIND, HIS HAIR IS DYED INDIAN BLACK, THAT ABOUT AS INDIAN AS THIS THING GETS, THIS IS NOTHING BUT A BIG HOAX, AND THAT IS NO INDIAN LANGUAGE OR SONG EITHER. PRETTY FAKE TO ME.

  • I am Mescalero Apache and I don't mind saying this is bull shit ....

  • the dress and tipi, eagle whistle and language (Sioux) seems more Plains. I could be wrong. That is Kenneth Johnson, in the red shirt--well known Creek jeweler--he's at Indian Market every year. oops, I just read dinegirl above--I'm right!! But its still a good wedding in its way.

  • hahhahahhaahhahahaha....kills me.

  • This is a white man's way of thinking it's a navajo wedding.

  • This is not a Navajo Wedding that is Cherokee, or , perhaps, Iroquois.

  • whoa... let 'em have it billieder... I'll follow and throw rocks as you curse. lol

  • hahahahaha...omg...this is not navajo and why? cuz im navajo!! lol this is hilarious, dunno what culture this came from, apparently watching too much Dances with Wolves..or more wannabes..eh..

  • @calmughrabi9874 well, the groom is Indian--but some of this is suspect, I grant you...perhaps a mish mash.

  • Comment removed

  • this is bullshit.

  • SOOO NOT navajo but still nice to see different cultures.

  • So many haters! I luv it, keep 'em comin. But this is definately not Navajo.lmfao ;D

  • Wow! What a sham. Native American cultures have been appropriated to a point of blurring distinct peoples. This is deff not Navajo! As Indigenous people, we need to look critically at our traditions and the ways in which they make meaning for us in the modern times. Simply put, feathers and beadwork don't make someone a Native!

  • Im confuse ! is it a traditional Navajo wedding or not? its beautiful whatever it is.but whats wrong with this video? I just...cant get it!

  • @GTheBlackElk to answer you, NO. this is not a traditional navajo wedding. The people in the film are not even navajo. Its obviously made by a person whos completely ignorant of the native american cultures. Navajos dont dress like the plains indians and the "medicine man" specifically said hes from the San Carlos reservation ( apache)..i dunno about what "indian ways" hes talking about either..lol..

  • @calmughrabi9874 This IS NOT APACHE. I'm from San Carlos haha I don't know what da hell this is. I'm pretty sure there was pretty fat pay check in it tho.

  • @calmughrabi9874 oh so its obviously fake; but its so charming for and indian lover like me lol

  • WTF??????????? too damn sad

  • Can you tell the so-called medicine man is winging it? I can't believe they would post it under Navajo wedding. What's with all the fake feathers too?.. SMH.. Ha'tii'la il'dooh!!

  • LMAO!!!!.... Navajo Wedding? OMG -- this is such a disgrace! Hilarious....

  • @62muki

I know ! Idk why pll cant just stick to thier own heritage they took everything from us now our culture . This is bull

  • Wannabee 101,who's the preacher? is that Sakoieta with a wig on?

  • Wonderful :) Love & Peace

  • Take this awful video OFF you tube. These white Indians are ruining our culture. Their bad people ! Don't trust them, they always turn on you.

  • LMAO!

  • Total rubbish!!!!!!!!!!

  • Get ur facts straight!!!!

I agree with tha "Giiiiissh" comment..

  • damn white women always get the good lookin ones >.<

  • is this a "theme wedding" or from a movie? either way it's offensive to real navajo people

  • This is a slap in the faces of Dine people.............This is Sedona New Ager crap.....Ive been to a "Traditional Dine Wedding" and not a pinch of whats in this wedding video took place, this is so WTF!...........and then the Pipe, and Whistle....wow....

  • This is not a navajo wedding what so every

U can tell by the cloths they wear and what they do!

  • ALL I have to say is Giiiiiiissssshhhhhh!!!!!!

  • I think I saw this on an episode of Dr. Quinn...

  • THIS IS NOT NAVAJO. WE DON'T WEAR FEATHERS IN OUR HAIR

  • Can you all tell me why native men in general always marry blond bimbos? What is wrong with brown women? Native women? I know this sounds prejudice...but dang what is up with our brown brothers? You need a trophy or a good wife?

  • @mam1132 Brown skin and long hair doesn't make a Native. She can have him as far as this one goes. But some white women easily fall for the spiritual B.S. from Native guys. You can be ugly as sin, but just tell the white woman that "the spirits" said you are soul mates. Look at this poor woman, she doesn't even know what she's participating in is absolute crap. How sad. I don't envy her.

  • @kmj2000 dam right

  • i think its navajo cause of the rug they used??? LOL

  • what the pickles this anit navajo......what is this??? the user name isnt even navajo too im guessing

  • LMAO!!! Wedding?- Maybe.... Traditional?-unlikely...Navajo?--NOT IN A MILLION YEARS......Stereotypical- INDEFINITE to all AMERICAN INDIANS!!!! also Navajo's don't go around tying feathers in each others hairs that like asking for bad karma to come to you!!! wow!!! Please BEWARE this production is all for the use of "modern day hippies" or in the words of Thomas from Smoke Signals cuz HIPPIES WERE TRYING TO BE INDIANS ANYWAYS!!!!

  • This is not Navajo! Looks like someone needs to do some more research on traditional Navajo wedding ceremonies!>.<

  • This video always makes me laugh... It's so wrong in so many ways. smh big time. Don't believe it people who don't know better.

  • These people may or may not be Native but the regalia they're wearing resembles the Plains Indians...I agree this is NOT a Navajo Wedding...You should change the title of the video to something that is more appropriate...

  • I have to admit that not knowing any better I thought this was a Navajo wedding until I read the comments below (although that blanket did look Mexican to me). Some other viewers might not take the time to read the comments. They might think this is an authentic Navajo wedding. People should not be misinformed. That said, the guy looked totally hot in that outfit. Was that Navajo? I don't know what's real anymore after this video! If the wedding is not Navajo, what is it?

  • I am navajo, this is not a traditional Navajo wedding. What are you thinking? take this down, this is offensive, misleading and giving the wrong information to those who do want to know what a real navajo wedding is. P/S i dont know any medicine man who offers to bless your marriage for only 6 months! let alone any navajo family that would let you get married in a cheap tourist sold $10 mexican blanket...

  • Comment removed

  • wtf what is up with the white lady ?????

  • I find this offensive to native americans! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves!

  • Wtf is this shit,

  • Navajo wedding, my as*. This is shi*.

  • LMFAO!!! ahahaha Im not even gonna say anything.....

  • What the heck! Not only is this misleading but its also offensive.

  • Are you fukn serious? Navajo wedding? Ha!! Moron. T'oo dingis.

  • Dayum, I think I'm gonna lose my dinner... traditional my ass!!

  • Díí hanii Diné bi'iige at'éh!! (This is not a Navajo wedding!!) Hat'ísh asken baansídadidoohkos k'ad? (What are you all now going to think of next?) Nát'íízh DCH biyijin NiT'oozh bik'iha'nííl, doohanii ałtse ádooshéo hiiłos bee na'áłkaahda (Instead of posting BS titles on YouTube, maybe should do a little research first on the internet) Doojóódlą'da (Unbelievable)

  • @billieder Im Dine as well and very traditional and I cant believe people just make things up. very disrespectful

  • I know where they got the idea, it wasn't Dances with Wannabes, it was Harlequin Romance Novels.

  • Oy vay!!! What was that? It should have all ended up on the cutting room floor.

  • This is totally new AGE stuff

  • Like hell this is a traditional Navajo wedding. This is what is called New Age...people who exploit what is left of Native American culture and ways. This is just a gumple of stuff. Not from any specific tribe.

  • hahaha i want a wedding like this. LMAO!!!!!!!NOT but it reminds me of someone. lol

  • This is NOT a Navajo wedding ceremony.

  • Not a Navajo ceremony. I don't see any wedding baskets with blue and white mush.

  • "LOL" FUCKIN IDIOTS ( WEDDINGS505 )

  • real navajo men have many wives of course at their disgression np

  • Waah'!!!! NOT EVEN. . .

  • This might as well have been Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky's wedding. This is not a way to perserve our Navajo Culture. Please come and visit the Navajo Museum in Window Rock before claiming any Navajo culture references.

    1. Navajo Men aren't supposed to wear their hair long.

    2. Navajo weddings are conducted in private in a Hogan

    3. I don't see a Dowry!

And you say no to Gay Marriage? Please!

  • @jjisola Navajo can wear their hair long. It's just the majority of the time it's in chongo. Remeber Navajo identity was lose association of families and clans, and is still true to this day. Naadleeh marriage was common though.

  • @Zeev The only time a Dineh is allowed by tradition to wear their hair down long is for funeral rites. But at all other times, it must be worn in a Tse Yeel. I'm not sure what you mean by "lose association of families and clans." I'm curious on your source of information. Mind sharing?

  • This is not a Navajo Wedding Ceramony.I wish the native man and white woman a happy life together and that they honor eachother. They spent alot on their atire but had nothing at the same time. The man who did the ceramony seemed to stumble on his words and meanings.

Eagle feathers on the front and the back for 6 months.

I am what I am and know what is not. This was NOT.

  • I"m Apache from San Carlos and there isn't nothing navajjo or Apache about this, This dude is full of crap.

  • The only thing navajo about this is the vase they drank from..other than that its stuuuupid!

  • ummmmm diz dont look like a navajo wedding.... *shrugs shoulder*

  • Not NAVAJO wedding.

  • fake!!!!!!!!!! discrace!!! this is not right!!!

  • LMAO! This is not DIne'. By the looks of the dress and the use of feathers, its not even Southwestern. Just plain Stupid!

  • Its a commercial wedding...The Spiritual Leader is Apache...

  • maybe this guy who label this video didnt know what he was looking at... to put it nicely.

  • i agree diz is not navajo!!

  • This looks like a scene from Dances with Wolves! Leave it to some non natvie to think they know our traditions. Whomever conducted this wedding ceremony better get their facts straight. This is NOT a traditional navajo wedding ceremony. And you should be ashamed of yourself for taking something that is sacred to the navajo people and turning it into some kind of spectacle. Our way of life is NOT for your entertainment!!!

  • LOL Shay-hi ! (Whoa/Wow/GASP!!! (LOL) in Ojibwa) We do this style of wedding. NOT a Navajo one that's for sure. Poor couple probably thought they were getting the real deal of a Navajo wedding. It is a traditional ceremony I might add, just not Navajo. The Lead Man looks like a Fly By Nighter.... A crazy man after money and fame....

  • WTF!!

  • oohhkaayyy....uh, yea

sorry but not a navajo wedding....

  • soooo not a navajo traditional wedding....

  • Thats not a traditional Navajo wedding.

  • I thought I'd keep an open mind and give it a try, but this is down right offensive. Pan-Indianism at its best. Thank you white people.

  • NOT a Navajo wedding ...

Do a little research people ...

  • This is Dine wedding

  • This wedding isn't even Navajo! It's more like a Lakota wedding. What a bunch of fools.

Don't say something is traditional and goof it up like that!

    That is not Dine'!

  • haaaaaaaaaaahahahahahha oh god this is tooooo damn funny.!!! I am a young Navajo dude learning ceremonies, and I cant say this offensive.! I cant even hate them because of how stupid this is!!hahahahah i wonder how long that marriage will last.

  • who are these people, they have no respect for true native ceremony. this is no navajo wedding you have violated my people ceremony and the thier name. you should be ashame and becuase of what you are doing the world is out of balance. leave the native ceremony to us don't try and copy what we do.

  • Hey look, they're both drinking peyote wine from a traditional pot...made in China. OMG...I just wanna puke. And why would a non-Navajo marry a yonega in a fake "Navajo" ceremony. Doesn't he have his own traditions? German, perhaps? Why didn't she just tell him they were getting hitched at the local presbyterian church? Oy.

  • LOL, are these people for real!

  • Is this for real?? I don't know if I should laugh or continue to be offended.

  • some wedding that isn't even a traditinonal navajo wedding and even if it was you wouldn't even be able to take pics or vids it is forbbin for any one to take or record the wedding and it is almost aways done in a hogan it looks more like a plains indian wedding. hey allso weddings 505 you should rename this like plains indian wedding not navajo it is even close to a navajo wedding

  • hey.....they forgot to tell ya where to find your local curio store for all the rugs and pottery and painted feathers and peace pipe kits. LMAO. Kimosabe is the china mans name...LOL. I mean honestly.......What the hell was this???? The only thing navajo about it was the Ed Lee Natay song at the end and even that was an apache song. Oh creator, help those who don't understand our traditional ways and make a mockery of them. Man did you guys see how dark the grooms feathers were?! I want sum! LOL

  • hahahahahahahaha this is to funny ijust have to laugh at this. some people just don't know shit! hahahahahahaha this ain't a navajo wedding. hahahaha

  • These fools aren't even 'Navajo', let alone 'traditional'. Hey, Weddings505 - you need to re-title this video. Maybe change it to 'Wanabi Wedding' or 'Jackass Ties The Knot'. By mislabeling this, you are sending out a FALSE, stereotyped image of Navajo people to your viewers that don't know any better. Luckily, I do, because I'm Dine'...but I can see there are some here, like zhorkon, who aren't.

  • I, too, wish you well, Standingwithfeast... It is good to have a sense of ultimate Truth, and of Right and Wrong actions... to have personal beliefs and standards to adhere to. But I would suggest that your "Truth", your mastery or interpretation of traditional NDN beliefs, are deficient. Beware unseemly hubris, in pretending to know the Great Spirit's preferences and intentions. Beware whenever you find yourself in agreement with the tribal Whites, self-segregated in their "Aryan Nations"...

  • The historical success of the Navajo Nation can be traced partly to revered tradition, but it is also traced through the many clans which, in their origins, adopted and normalized the infusion of outsiders - Tewa, Hopi, even Mexicans (bitter enemies, in the past) - all of whom contributed materially and spiritually to what Navajo people are today. Why should the *occasional* marriages of black, white or yellow people to NDN people today threaten a strong, spiritually healthy and proud Nation?

  • Dear Standingwithfeast, you might be surprised to learn that we are not entirely in disagreement... I too see much virtue in marriages which preserve language, heritage and culture in the face of a pervasive, dominant, corrosive, yet obviously imperfect alien culture. But nevertheless, we differ... I also see much value in *some* mixing of a few special individuals and families who have the necessary creativity to grow and learn from the inevitable contacts we must have with our neighbors.

  • To those who speaks the Truth are not insecure as zhorkon thinks. It is those who support and defend corruptions are the ones who are insecure. I don't need to defend the Truth for the Truth is perfect from Above and doesn't need to be defended. In Law there is also Mercy according to the Great Spirit's term and not yours. As in the Proverbs, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction." The Lord 's mercy gives sight,so repent & live.

  • Plus, presumably, one or both of them feel they have some NDN heritage - like a hell of a lot of modern Americans do! Not so bad either (even if they should spend some time learning the real deal from the Hollywood shtick. But if you're "pure but insecure"... well, rant on! In a strange way it's comforting to know that all those evil Anglo males don't have a total monopoly on ugly racism. Use a mirror.

  • Truth is wasted to those who have no desire for the nature of the Great Spirit. What is considered as modern is nothing new, If you have understanding from ancient history to now then you might not rent agaist the truth. If it is o.k. to you for a person to do what ever they like as long as they are happy. And you are teaching this as your "truth", then you asmight as well advocate men having sex with animals. In life, there is law in all things for a good purpose.

  • Zhorkon, it is very childish of you to brand me as a racist. I have like minded spiritual brother and sisters of OTHER RACES. We love each other in the purity of the Great Holy Spirit. Your ignorance blinds you zhorkon. It is ignorant, and void of truth concerning your own human nature that works in all people of all race that makes them ugly. I don't hate folks like you and in the video, but I do hate the ugly lying spirit that is working in everyone who love not THE TRUTH. Use THE mirror sir

  • Chill out, NDNs! Yeah, I know where you're coming from... If this wedding was labeled differently and not misrepresented as a "traditional" "Navajo" ceremony... well, the less crazy amongst you commenters *might* have been able to keep a little perspective and wish the couple well... interracial or intercultural marriages take a special kind of love and commitment, and I wouldn't knock it.

  • To standingwithfeast THANK-YOU ! I think its about time for indian women to stand up and save our culture. there are to many white halfbreeds who speak for us, NOT ME ! .When they speak our traditional ways are exploited .SAVE THE NAVAJO CULTURE. Tell them how you feel,If it's not right speak up. A True 100% Navajo women.

  • Robert Eagle Hawk? Even his name shows you that he is a wanna be. He is an eagle wanna be, but not even a hawk but a chicken hawk. One who does not speak as a Navajo, but as a serpent with folk tongue.

  • This is not Navajo. How come you Indian guys always marry white women? Aren't we as Indian women good enough for you. Indian women ! we have to start speaking out and defending ourselves. It sucks. in the 70s the US goverment sterilized Native women,Now are own men are doing away with us, No respect no thought about us. Fight for Your rights!

And be proud of who you are,A 100% Navajo Women

  • These so called Navajo men are nigajo men who dispises their own blood line, and marries to white women. This is not a traditional Navajo marriage. Shame on them! Shame on the blacks who hates your skin color, shame on you white girls who hate your father, shame on you asians who is ashame of your blood. God the Great Spirit made us races for His reason. You who say celebrate diversity, celebrate by not polluting diversity by mixing it. Keep it pure as the Great Spirit is pure.

  • my comment is i dont care

  • Well, the officiant and the groom don't even look Navajo to me...but whatever. Maybe the blond bride is Navajo? LOLOL. I know she dreamt of Harlequin Romance novels with her "fine" NDN "brave" by her side all night. Yech!

  • this is crap at its fullest,im not Navajo and even i can see that

  • dang, they got everything in there....a pipe, eagle feathers, flesh offerings, some crazy ass song, some pueblo pottery and and an eagle whistle...people like this need to be shot.

  • hmm idk wether to laugh cry or get pissed... DAMN U! U WANNA BE NDN!!! I HOPE U BURN IN HELL!!! (shouldnt be saying things like this but still)

HEY EAGLEHAWK! (turns) (//--) (--\\) "Wat?" lol

sum of u will get this maybe lol

  • geee...gaahhh...dang...jus real speechless...

  • WTF!!!!!! Really? Really?what the f*ck is "whokadahey"??!!?!

  • ROFLOL!

  • This is NON-NATIVES at their commercial best! LMMFAO!!!!

  • Non Native people never cease to amaze me. I find this video totally insensitive and offensive. This in no way resembles a traditional Navajo/Dine wedding ceremony. This wedding was obviously preformed by a non native individual who lacks culture and tradition.

  • LMFAO! This aint no Navajo Wedding! LOL Looks like an Amature Hollywood NDN film.

  • It looks decent and diggable... but not a navajo wedding, some other tribe.

Makes me want to get married though....heh

  • I am Navajo, and this is not a Navajo Wedding Ceremony.

  • I am Navajo and I agree...

  • navajo wedding es....hahaha..no this isnt the navajo wedding...
