We are getting the car back together by the end of May2011. Tito's Chassis Shop has the car now. We are putting it back together after the bad crash at the Pan Am Nationals in NJ late last year. Time to improve!

custom rear diff or half between the cx7 and mps6 rear diff , mx5 engine and gearbox+turbo cut the fuck out of the tunnel, custom crossmember and computer. how about an engineers

@chemao1978 Sure have and I said " the V8s are OK but MOST of them don't make good hp/ci like a good jap turbo engine can". topfuel = 500ci, 8000hp = 16hp per ci with a 4 sec life span. 5 sec Top alcohol V8s are around 6-7hp per ci and still need huge maintainence. I run 6-7hp per ci with my jap STREET engines on PETROL and they last way over 100 runs and its not hard to get well over 10hp per ci with a suitable jap engine on meth and even more than that with a rotary.

@chemao1978 No I have a 3 liter straight 6 (182ci) that makes 1400hp on petrol and runs 7.2s @ 186mph on the 1/4, it ran for 3 seasons with an oil change and a set of plugs and its the current world record holding engine,(no shit). A fellow racer has a 3.4 liter straight 6 and thats 2500hp (6.4 @ 225mph) which is 12hp per ci on meth so trust me there's nothing far fetched about it at all. Imagine putting these engines on Nitro? I'm sure would make more hp/ci than the current top fuel engines.

@RIPSNZ I guessed you're running some kind of frame with a 2JZ motor. I clicked your name and voila! I was right. Looks good. Now with that said, it's widely accepted that top fuel engines could make close to 10,000HP -- but noboby really knows for sure. That's pretty close to 20hp/ci. How about a formula one engine that makes 700+HP on a 2.4 litre V8 with no boost? Can you imagine what they'd be making if they could be turbocharged? :) Also, I think most of the advantage of more cylinders

@chemao1978 BTW, my motor is not 2JZ, its nissan RB30 with a totally stock block (no filler), stock crank, stock mains caps, stock mains bolts, wet sump, full cooling system, run on petrol etc etc, 1400hp reliable for 3 years at the same hp/ci as the top alcohol boys :-)

Cool, those are rare. The only thing I am surprised with is the bolts. Keep this in mind though -- top alcohol/fuel use roots or screws. Imagine what they'd make with centrifugals or turbos HAH Anyway, nice "car". The fastest car I have now is my GranTurismo -- and it's not fast at all. I sold my 240 a year and a half ago after having moved to Boston. Awww I miss it though

@RIPSNZ is more contact points on the shaft = better torque. Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder how much more power a top fuel engine could make with a turbo isntead of a roots supercharger. I guess it would be too much to keep the engine together. And a 2.4 litre turbo V8 that revs to 20,000 RPM would be... ridonkulous. :)

@chemao1978 I agree and its nice to see you are open minded about engines unlike some yanky V8 fans who think there's no way anything else could be better. F1 use to be turbo'd in the 80s and they reliably made 1500hp from 1500cc (91ci) so thats 16.5 hp per ci way back in the 80s with enough reliability to go round a race track at full noise several times, not bad at all, Imagine what could be done now with modern efi and turbo's, as you say 20hp/ci is probably not out of the question.
