if you are having problems finding a product that will actually help you get rid of your toenail infection then try tineacide by dr. blaine. i had toenail infection and i used tineacide to cure it. tineacide took some time but it worked.
um to clean it u use thath thing that stinks in a brown bottle,if it starts foaming the bacteria is getting pwned yes and soak the infected nail in steaming hot water with some shampoo in it then umm i forgot
soaking your toes in epsom salt and trying to let the tonail grow back out is a retardedly bad idea.. its just going to make your toe worse.. the only way to fix a ingrown toenail is surgery where they cut off the side of your tonail, put this stuff on it to make it not grow back. it still looks like a normal toe nail but the side that curves down is gone... i had to get one of mine cut off. now i just dig the rest out with a knife.
This hits close to home, lol...I smashed my big toe about 6 years ago and the toenail was ruined...the doctor had to rip the remainder off with pliers and give me stitches. My toenail has never been the same and I get an ingrown nail about once every 3 months...A bottle of alcohol, tweezers, my trusty pocket knife, and I cut it out myself...But it ALWAYS comes back, lol...SO PAINFUL when infected.

I have had part of my toe removed so that the infection would "dissolve" (my doctor said that) and it has been at least 5 months now scince that, and my toe is starting to grow back, i am still seeing bit of the infection but mostly swelling, should i be worried?
I think it's possible to get them on other toes. I've only ever had ingrown toenails on my big toes though. Apparently it's even possible to get ingrown fingernails!
@Brinniey Yes fingers and all toes can get them. The big toe is most prone to this because we humans use the big toe the most due to our weight beeing on it allot, also use it for stability and leanage.

Hey dude it looks pretty normal i guess. But if you keep it long enough, then the blood will start to rott and turn green. Then the blood is pretty much dead. Get it checked out and eat alot of vitamin C, it helps it. Cut it straight across every night for about a month. You could get vitamin c drops at your clinic and what not. They taste like candy lol. I have had mine for about 3 years now and my parents say that its fine, but its horrible and stings with the slieghtest touch.
NativeLova, you probaly need to get it partially removed, mine stung at the slightest touch and it got infected alot, not bleeding but a puss pocket type thing, i got the side temp removed twice but it grew back, now i've had one side remove perm and its fine :) If its persistant you should probaly see a doctor..

they numb your toe, then put this acid at the very base of your toenail... like way under your skin... then, take a pair of scissors and cut a straight line all the way down (from the top of the toenail to the wayyyy bottom... and it hurts really bad.) they cut mine from the middle... it took a while to heal and grow back but it looks normal now and it's never happened again.

Just let the nail grow and when its time to cut it don't cut it short, leave it the length of the toe or just under as that is why the toenail is there, plus you can scoop the toejam out and spread it on the dinner of friends that you don't really like.

i got rid of mine, what i did was pull the skin on the side of the toe back and dump hydogen peroxide in there, wait untill it stopped bubling, put some polysporin on it then a bandaid. (repeat untill better)

to ingrown toe suffers like myself, put a ward of cottonwool down the white put of ur toe nail and put pressure but do not cause pain, then warp in a bandage and leave for a few hours. this will help lift ur toenail gently from the skin and avoid ingrown toenails
i got them on both big toes playing football in school, i doctored them and cut on them myself for about five years. working orilling rig and on my feet all the time it was killing me. go get them cut out! not only do they cut a little section out but they remove the scar tissue that keeps causing them to grow back into the skin! Infected toe? Try blasting the gunk out with a hose. It's totally the ANSWER! I used to have an infected toe so bad I couldn't even touch it without AGONY! I noticed it often occured after going to the beach and I thought MAYBE there's grains of sand stuck deep in there preventing it healing. So I blasted it out and it felt immediately 20% better. By the next day it was 95% better. Do it twice a day for two days!! BLAST IT OUT REAL GOOD! It REALLY hurts at first so start gently but KEEP GOING!!!
If you haven't had surgery yet you should check into laser treatment. I had laser treatment done after two previous (and very painful) surgeries failed to correct the problem. The laser is much less painful and recovery is faster. Almost 20 years later and no more ingrown toenails.

Im suffering from this now and its a common problem i have that I come across every once maybe twice a year.
Lifting the side of the nail and stuffing it with cotton seems to work but im not having any luck with this one.
Might need to go to some more extreme measures.

they numb your toe, then put this acid at the very base of your toenail... like way under your skin... then, take a pair of scissors and cut a straight line all the way down (from the top of the toenail to the wayyyy bottom... and it hurts really bad.) they cut mine from the middle... it took a while to heal and grow back but it looks normal now and it's never happened again.

I have a curse with these! Had an ingrown toe nail, on one foot. had part of the nail pulled out. Got another on the other foot. Had part of that nail pulled. Got another on the OTHER foot again. Pulled part of the nail. Then got another infected on both sides of the toe, and decieded to just pull the whole nail out.
Now I think I'm getting another! (yes again). I have a curse!

hey mongglory..i had mine done today...without injection or any thing that stop my pain...let me tell you something...even though its pain...ITS DONE VERY FAST...the doctor just have to shape take out ur ingrown toe tail and kill the bacteria in it...then wrap it up...GO FOR IT..

Just let the nail grow and when its time to cut it don't cut it short, leave it the length of the toe or just under as that is why the toenail is there, plus you can scoop the toejam out and spread it on the dinner of friends that you don't really like.

Yea i have an ingrown big toe on both sides....yes very painfull.....i have been to my doctor and had a procedure done about 3-5 times on each toe.....i am goin te get an appointment soon to have the nerve witch controls the growing of the nail sideways burned by acid....which he numbs it and ass of time and then stiks a long cue tip dipped in the acide for like a long tine....very painful after the numbness.....famliy has done it and satisfied by GL!

the best way to get rid on an ingrowing toe nail, esp an infected one, is see a doctor. ignored mine and ended up having the infection spreading to the other side of the thumb, so my nail was ingrowing on both sides.
i went to a doctor and they did thing and now i'm grand.
i wish i went sooner doh, i had to get 7 injections in my foot and i was like only 13

I have to i have on both toe and i have it for very long long time and since i'm always at home i don't use sock or shose and because i did't use sock or shose for long time it actually stop getting worse it don't hurt for me to talk anymore but it is still long way down to my skinn and since i'm use to it i don't get hurt as long i don't pick on it

i got rid of mine, what i did was pull the skin on the side of the toe back and dump hydogen peroxide in there, wait untill it stopped bubling, put some polysporin on it then a bandaid. (repeat untill better)

You can get one by cutting your toe nail too close/short, So when the nails starts to grow back, it sticks into the side skin and makes it infected.

to ingrown toe suffers like myself, put a ward of cottonwool down the white put of ur toe nail and put pressure but do not cause pain, then warp in a bandage and leave for a few hours. this will help lift ur toenail gently from the skin and avoid ingrown toenails

i got them on both big toes playing football in school, i doctored them and cut on them myself for about five years. working orilling rig and on my feet all the time it was killing me. go get them cut out! not only do they cut a little section out but they remove the scar tissue that keeps causing them to grow back into the skin! I didnt think i had scar tissue but here i am a year later and no more probs. go to a pediatrist!!!money well spent!

Infected toe? Try blasting the gunk out with a hose. It's totally the ANSWER! I used to have an infected toe so bad I couldn't even touch it without AGONY! I noticed it often occured after going to the beach and I thought MAYBE there's grains of sand stuck deep in there preventing it healing. So I blasted it out and it felt immediately 20% better. By the next day it was 95% better. Do it twice a day for two days!! BLAST IT OUT REAL GOOD! It REALLY hurts at first so start gently but KEEP GOING!!!

If you haven't had surgery yet you should check into laser treatment. I had laser treatment done after two previous (and very painful) surgeries failed to correct the problem. The laser is much less painful and recovery is faster. Almost 20 years later and no more ingrown toenails.
