  • after getting spoiled with all that torque in the turbocharged competitors

i have to admit it is really refreshing to get back in the naturally aspirated civic Si and row the gears continuously to keep the engine on boil in vtec--something i dont mind doing with a shifter that good

  • im suddenly sleepy

  • Use your big boy voice!!

  • Comment removed

  • I'd take the Cobalt SS T/C,.... but I'd have the coupe, the 4-door is,... well yeah you know.

  • wake me up when this video is over, thanks

  • I am getting sleepier each talking moment

  • ohhh please the mini could do it better if it is either a cooper s or jcw tey pick the wrong model wth di they choose a clubman , of all minis the clubman is the fugliest (i like the countryman better than a clubman)

  • american cars... booo.... ^_^

  • Lol cobalt ss's value dropped by half as soon as they rolled off the lot

  • Why the Clubman? Why not the regular Mini?

  • @biscuitninja I think they were trying to keep the sizes equal...

  • Sure hope they dont pay this chump. what a shitty video and horrible narrator or w.e u wana call him

  • Yawn...

  • too bad the cobalt is ugly as shit, and has a cheap ass interior

  • @bigphilly95

Apparently you haven't been in a 2008-2010 Cobalt SS.

  • Ricers talk about Americans being fast only in a straight line.................. then the Civic loses to every other car on a track.

So what are ricers boasting about?

  • @randomdude5640 your not considered a ricer if you like imporrts u moron, and the "ricers" were probably referring to the 1990-2006ish muscle cars because at that time american cars only went fast in straight lines where as imports could go fast while turning

  • @bigphilly95 I'm not talking about import enthusiast. I'm talking about ricers. For you to come out of nowhere and make this personal means you're admitting to something. If you aren't a ricer you wouldn't care.

But yes. I must admit. Those Mustangs were shit. Those guys buying them weren't even ricers. They were just dumb. Ford never updated that suspension cuz people were gonna blindly buy those things anyway. Arguably the biggest scam in American history. Only a fool would deny that :P

  • The Civic Si starts at a but under $20,000 US. The new K24 one should have had 220hp or so

  • People on ludes should not host a TV segment!

  • Who would've thought that the Chevy would win the lap time!

  • wow this dude is annoying

  • I'm glad your not a teacher, you would put me to sleep everyday.

  • I hate the narrator with a burning passion

  • He sounds like he's reading this off a piece of paper & the Honda finished in last place hahahahaha

  • GOD FUCKING DAMMIT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE AT LEAST MARGINALLY EXCITING

  • GOD DAMN... PLEASE find someone else to narrate these videos! This guy makes Ben Stein sound like Andres Cantor. Here I am watching some kick-ass little cars do some heroic stuff, which ought to be exciting. Instead I'm slapping myself in the face to keep awake.

Bring the narrator over here so I can slap his face instead. Maybe it'll wake his ass up.

  • i don't think one of these cars msrp for anything under 26k

  • The SS just can't be beat... :)

  • you can hear on the track they are keeping the rpms below like 4k, thats why the civic did so poorly, only runs well over 5k.

  • @yhazksokol yea their racing around the track but going easy on it.......... that makes alotta since??? no the honda came in last cuz it was the slowest, not cuz they were half assin it

  • @VolGreg

Hahah .... I guess it's hard for some honda guys to see their beloved SI bringing up the back of the pack . At least say motortrend got a lemon or something .... not that they were purposely running it below the powerband lol. It's a conspiracy dude.

  • @rukkee22 tell me bout it man some of these ignorant ass comments just irritate me

  • @yhazksokol

Are you kidding? I've heard some lame excuses but this one ranks right up there with the worst.

  • lol...take that Honda, lol....last place on the track, lol

  • find better hosts. This guy makes me want to die. He is that boring. OMG, did someone run over his puppy with one of these cars or something?

  • this guy is so fucking boring would have fell asleep if not for the chevy... cobalt ss is sick

  • why is he talking monotone?

  • yawn

  • I have Brembo brakes on my RSX-S turbo from the Integra Type-R

  • I like the guy he is not trying to sell any car with fake gestures and admiration remarks.

  • I used to live down the street from here ;) The good ole days ;)

  • 0k so the new cobalt ss TURBOCHARGED is faster and has more power than the Si that good. For how long would that last I will give it five years and that it BOOM!!!.. People should know that any honda motor outlast any motor come on it's GM their good to break down. =]

  • my old 92 buick regal grand sport had 238,000 miles, didnt change the oil in roughly 8 mo and it was still running strong. whereas my friends 2000 civic with about 90,000 miles blew its engine with no oil changes after 4-5 months, another friend had the same thing happen to him with his vtec 2004 civic after about the same length of time. gm does build dependable engines, honda isnt everything it is made out to be

  • Look at your name, its pretty clear you are a ricer and a fanboy

  • @xamen28 haha thats what happens when you have to put track test and civic in the same sentence; it gets boring real quick.

  • I have an 09 cobalt ss tc, and this thing is awesome!! You get soo much for the price and its really fun to drive!

I mean comon, name one other car for the same price that gives you, 260 hp stock, no lift shift feature and launch control.

  • I killed a cobalt ss the other day with my 2000 civic Si... EASY!

  • @JustWaIkAway proly wasn't an ss t/c. the supercharged ones an si can compete with, but even though they are ugly, the cobalt t/c is a monster with power. (i got an 09 si if you wanted to know) and if you "killed" a cobalt ss, it probably wasn't an ss. the car looks no different on the outside except for some badges, but anybody can put those on.

  • My civic flies @ 0-60 in 5.2 secs. (mods made by myself)

Also I recommend everyone to check the news: GM is about to issue a massive cobalt recall (no joke)

  • You can tell how much this guy hates the caliber srt-4. Despite the honda civic si getting a last place finish, notice he had to say "bringing up the back of the pack is the mini clubman s and the dodge caliber srt4". Also in the first video he said the two cars had the worst 1/4 times. I doubt the csrt4 did worse than the civic. Dont get me wrong i dont hate any of these cars( i am slightly biased, but everyone is..) but thats plain unfair

  • I own a 08 SS Cobalt... I am so impressed with it... numbers don't lie!

  • I'm with Cheer08Halyn...after hearing this guy, I feel so lethargic and depressed...pick someone else to narrate....

  • this guy is so monotone. its like pulling fingernails!

  • @Cheer08Halyn I know eh, he would make a great public speaker.

  • you guys need to check out chevycobaltforums

  • alright....the Cobalt SS is the fastest(they say)but GOD IS IT UGLY!!!!For the rest they stand where i expected them to....The Civic SI...heheh....is such an overrated car by those young kid....watch and learn!!I'd go for the Ralliart or WRX...good winter car...and looks good!!!

  • The Civic Si is not about HP. It's a ridiculously fun car to drive to it's limits, and a very civil and fuel efficient car when you drive at low RPMs. From an engineering standpoint, it is very impressive to get 100 HP/litre out of any naturally aspirated car, which speaks to the years of refinement that have gone into it. Also, if you really care about power, $6k (catback, turbo, reflash) will bring the Civic up over 300 WHP and let it stick with the front of the pack, all for less than a WRX

  • unless it will rain or snow...

  • i think its hilarious how everyone seems to own an STI or an EVO but anywho... this test got it right. ever since i traded in my tC for the new SS t/c i couldnt be happier. when i went lookin for a new car bout 6 months ago i tried the si and the ms3. SI is crap and the main reason i didnt like the ms3 was its just ugly... looks like a small minivan. and the plastic in the SS isnt bad... its a 25k car not a BMW. cant have top of the line everythin

SS stomps em all for the $... even STI and EVO

  • WHERES THE SENTRA SER?

  • this guy sounds like his mom just died, and the civic could kick the cobalts ass any dau

  • no it cant its underpowered and dull.

  • it didn't do it this day. fanboy

  • Don't hate on the Si bro you know it has history and you know it if you didnt know. The SS just barely started and it will take years and many more to catch up.

  • haha! i think honda needs to step it up a notch. it probably does have the best fuel economy of the group but for this group, who cares?

  • Im going to say this again civic has racing history colbalt doesn't.That why the cobalt and srt4 need TURBOS because on NA form they wont keep up with the Si! And is the REAL DEAL buddy have a Nice Day.

  • Sure the Civic has a history but its all bad .The Cobalt does have a turbo and Direct injection this is the real deal.

  • please what "racing history" does a civic have, a bunch of kids racing between stop signs? The civic was never designed for racing, not even the SI

  • @albatross2380

I agree I don't even know why people started "racing" them.

  • @albatross2380 Honda has had a massive racing heritage. There is the Mugen RR civic which can easily beat a cobalt SS. While the Si may not be as fast as the SS. It is sure a hell of a lot more fun to drive and is far more practical.

  • massive as in it weighs alot? honda has been around 50 years, where were they when the great racing years of the 50's and 60's were in a boom and the pioneers of racing like ford chevy bmw lotus mercedes and even dodge were battling it out...oh thats right it was an infant company and mugen wasnt even around. come back to me in another 50 yrs and then maybe u can say racing HERITAGE

  • @albatross2380 GM has never competed in F1 racing. Neither has ford. Look at Honda today, Almost every car in the indy uses their engines.

  • @EpiDemic117 did I once mention F1 racing? no I did not. theres a whole lot more to racing then F1. I was actually talking in specific about civics and their racing heritage...if u actually comprehended what you read you would have got that. I was refering to "race what ya got" the way racing used to be in the 50's and 60's; show up to a race and then drive home what you just raced. ford was a huge part of this racing realm with its flat-head v8. as was Chevy.

  • GM has a much longer racing hertiage than Honda does lol

  • o yea baby chevy can still bang with the best. God damn that thing sounds and looks so good

  • chevy still holdin it down and always will

  • lol it might "hold it down" but it still looks like a piece of shit

  • hahahahaahaha finally a video to shut up those civic si owners who think they are the real deal! I dont care if this car has potential...so does a minivan with enough power and suspension improvements...if its not fast from the factory why bother....ooo thats right cause everyone wants to throw a turbo on something...give me a break go buy a real car. sry that was the longest run on sentence ever. bring on the negative comments lol.

  • Whatever makes u sleep better at night.. Civics are great cars and you know it

  • yes sir youre right I never denied that they were good cars, rather they are not sports cars. somehow ppl get in them and get this perception they are suddenly a race car driver. they are a family compact car they were not designed to be raced around a track or down a dragstrip. oh gosh even the si is not a sports car. sporty esque maybe, but not a sports car. my range rover with a lump of a v8 and over 4400lbs behind it can thrash civics and im talking about a classic not a new supercharged one

  • @albatross2380, none of these cars are sports cars, they are sport compacts... and i hope you know an si could beat most of these cars from a roll... it just struggles off the line cuz of its lack of torque

  • most of these cars? no it couldnt notonly is its torque laughable, its hp is lacking as well, esp when urcomparin it in the same class as a mazda speed3 or srt4.

  • horsepower and torque are kinda irrelivent at this class. its the numbers it puts down on a track that counts. even though an si has low torque and low hp, it can still put down high 14's stock. Probably wont beat every car, (or even most) of the other cars the majority of the time. Thats not really the point tho. I bought my si for 18.5k, and it can keep up with, and sometimes almost beat other cars in the class. Its not the engine and handling that make this car great

  • hp and torque are not irrelevant this whole video is on a track. the SI lost. It's not about engine and handling? well someone isn't a car enthusiast. What is it for than, the audio system?

  • You dont understand how great the si is until you look at buying another car. I was going to trade mine in for a genesis coupe. In order to get a decent sound system and a sunroof, id be puttin down 25k. I realized that no car gives the same kind of value an si gives. The si is faster than a genesis, has the best interior quality of all cars in this test, and i got it for less than 19k

  • I was saying the horsepowerand torque is irrelivent to the si because it can still smoke cars with twice the torque and far more horsepower. The car isnt supposed to be a monster until you make it one. If you want to make it fast, you can with very few improvements, the k20 is just a starting point. And that "starting point" definately aint slow.

  • @herky303

well it isnt slow for you, but for others like myself it is slow. Its all opinions on what people think "quick/fast/slow" is.

  • @albatross2380 For refinement, being fun to drive, and staying durable. That is what the SI is all about. Who gives a fuck if the other ones are faster. The Si has better interior quality and more of a look and feel to it than the others do. Plus that N/A motor is going to last alot longer than the other turbo or supercharged ones.

  • @EpiDemic117 dude it's engine, seriously what are we talking nascar here? no so stop referencing motor, we're not talking power windows, they're called engines. naturally aspirated doesn't mean it's necessarily more reliable. don't change the oil in ur civic for awhile and get back to me about reliability.

  • @albatross2380 do the same with the cobalt. We will see which one is better built to take abuse. (Hint: Civic)

  • considering engineers designed the cobalt engine for immense amount of extra compression from the turbo id still bank on the cobalt. the civic engine revvs like crazy I doubt it'd outlast the cobalts.

  • @albatross2380 The K20 is known for it's high revs and reliability. Most engines that are turbo'd have had many problems especially in the past. And for overall quality and durability there is no comparison.

  • why cant they ever use the two doors for the cobalt!

  • Could this guy be more boring??? You freakin' test cars for a living!

  • the honda has a lot of potential. shame the factory doesnt bring out what its capable of... and this is comming from a Cobalt guy lol!

  • ugggh throw a turbo on the si please honda. it needs it. i think si is the shit but i'm putting a turbo on mine pronto.

  • What a crap host.

  • whoa great video! jk this guy sucks he sounds like hes gonna fall asleep!

  • Please hire me to be your video broadcaster I can do a WAY better job and I'll work for a fraction of what this douche bag editor probably makes off these youtube comparison tests. Keep your boring and dull editor away from the camera his voice and personality is absolute rubbish.

  • MOTORTREND : when are you going to hire proper broadcasters to host these shows? After watching Top Gear this is so amateurish. This man is the senior editor.. thats fine. He doesn't belong in front of a camera without a personality makeover. The director must be pulling his hair out listening to his monotone voice.

  • Good job chevy. I love how everyone throws them down but yet they turn out a heck of a fun car for the price.

  • being a mini fan, i'm really disappointed they didn't use the non clubman s model.

  • You guys are overreacting a bit.

When you set your inner fanboy aside and pay close attention to the specific models tested it makes perfect sense. These are in the $25k range, not the more expensive/better performing models of, say, the EVO or STI.

The more expensive models do perform better, but they don't fall within the criteria of this particular test.

  • actuly mazdaspeed is the fastest... that is a bad test... just like the host

  • God this guy makes me want to blow my brains out. Jesus hire me for this... Who's dick did this guy suck to get this job?

  • i think the guy needs to be fired,he doesnt even know how to say things right, weight to power ratio wtf?its power to weight.

  • lol i was thinking the same thing!

  • this host could not be more boring

  • I think the MS3 should have came in first, followed by the WRX, and then the SS. All the other cars were crap. They're lucky there wasn't a MS6 there though, that car would be in the number one slot no problem.

Also, for the people that try to compare these cars to Evo's/Sti's: Evo's and Sti's are overrated...they might be powerful but stock for stock, there are other cars that can compare and are far cheaper. Plus, who wants to drive a car that everybody has just because of the name.

  • MS3 is a crap car. yes my cousin owns one. i will never ever buy a mazda. that thing has more problems then a american car.

  • That's why you need to get the special ones that are made in Japan and not in Michigan :) That's what I did with my MS6 anyways. No problems at all so far!

  • ms6 is barely faster and its only cuz of AWD that it beats the ms3

  • Well they do have the same engine, lol.

  • haha you know that is because most all mazdas are produced by ford, now?

  • yes ford owns them. and has for quite some time

  • The Mazdaspeed 3's parts are 95% Japanese. Made in Hiroshima, Japan.

  • Look for all the people saying sti and evos are the best then hats off to you,but hear me out on this one,Ive dynoed my SS/TC at 241whp and my friend did the same with his STI,and guess what? Same whp. He launched a bit faster but I caught up and kept up,im telling you I drove both cars and I'd go with a cobalt. awd doesnt make your car a beast just gives a certain advantage. Basically for around 15k you're paying for the fact that the Sti is awd and thats it! I ended up with the cobalt btw.

  • That's a smaller list but I tried as much as I could before I bought my SS. Have any of you gone that far before buying?

  • ....Simple fact is, every car can be picked apart. Like us, designers tastes are individual. Gm, Ford and Chrysler fucked themselves with crap cars in the past and it is unfortunate because cars like the LNF powered SS with the FE5 suspension really are amazing pieces of machinery. You people may not like them, but like the Neon SRT-4, until you drive it don't knock it. I really have driven alot (STI, Altima 3.5, Civic Si, EVO, Mazdaspeed 3, Eclipse, CTS and DTS, Charger and 300 SRT-8).....

  • That's great that you like your car, that it won this comparison test and that you buy American, BUT I don't believe you when you say you have driven those cars (more specifically the SI, EVO and STi,or MS3).

The simple fact that you like the Neon SRT-4 and Cobalt SS says everything...PLEASE, say no more.

  • Wow, you really think highly of yourself. Thinking that I actually give a shit whether you believe me or not. And suddenly because I like the NSRT-4 and the Cobalt SS i'm not allowed to drive cars like the MS3? The Si was to low at the roofline for me and had no torque, The MS3 had a gorgeous interior and alot of cargo space and the STI was too expensive. I drive cars before I decide to buy one. If you don't believe it I don't really care. Next inane comment please?

  • You have proven over and over again that you can't tell the difference between an EVO and a STI throughout your rant. If you had actually driven these cars you could never make such a mistake, so NO you have not driven either.

As for the SI and MS3, if you had driven them, you would NEVER ended up with a Cobalt. They are far superior vehicles in nearly every respect.

  • Actually, I did drive the EVO and STI and if not for the fact that 40,000 tax in was way too much I would have settled on the STI because I have liked it for eons. Far better than I like the EVO. So YES I have driven both and the STI was better but still too pricy. And the SI and the MS3 did not offer the same kind of deal. I love the MS3 but again, I ain't paying 32,000 tax in, The SS was the best deal and on the highway it's far more comfortable and quiet than both the MS3 and the Si.

  • No it's not.

  • dude seriously, youre a fuckin douche bag

i like how you try to stick up for cars that got beat by the cobalt

the si sucks ass, has no power, and is slow

how about you fill your comments with facts about the shit you talk

im in with 8balt, and its not just because im a chevy guy, more along the lines of youre a honda guy, and a dumbass also

  • You might want to read all 8BALT's posts before choosing sides.

If you read all mine, too, you'd realize that I'm not a "Honda guy."

I'm not even going to ask why your name is Chapstick...the name says it all.

  • I love how everyone gets so up in arms :) Now that i've had my fun, really, you can't compare the Evo to the Cobalt anymore. Make comparisons that matter. 40,000+ dollars canadian would net me a CTS which is a way better car overall. Everybody knows the EVO is boy racer and uncomfortable, The TI doesn't give much over the WRX, the Civic Si has a fantastic engine for longetivity but lacks real performance and has no damn headroom and the Cobalt imterior has more plastic than one would want.....

  • What do you mean "how EVERYONE gets so up in arms?" Is your YouTube discussion making big headlines up there in Canada?

That SI gives up 63hp to your Cobalt and only finished 3.2 seconds behind in this test on a 2.5 mile road course.

Also, who (other than you) is comparing a Cobalt to an EVO? That's a horrible comparison. If I owned and EVO, I'd be insulted.

  • You're an angry person, just let it go and accecpt that the cobalt ss is a decent car.

  • Jesus christ are you still going on? Here let's settle it. You drive an STI, your god, noone is better. I think it's time for other people to have some discusions, so go ahead and continue post your anti-cobalt rants because it is now falling on def ears and i'm done wasting my time on you! Period.

  • I haven't been called JC or God in a while. That's a bit overboard.

  • i wouldnt mind getting a cobalt ss.

  • I have the 09 turbocharged SS and I love it

  • one of my home girls has a cobalt ss in yellow. its such a sleeper. but im not really a big fan on subcompacts though, or front wheel drive, but this is a really good car.

  • That's right...we don't drive these cars at the track, we drive them in the real world. And in the real world the Honda and Subaru come out on top in both reliability, livability and sportiness. That Cobalt will blow a head gasket at any second now...

  • The Cobalt, since it's conception, has had average to below average reliability rankings by every company that performs this type of testing; whereas, the Honda Subaru have had excellent longevity. I suppose J.D. Power, Automobile, Car and Driver, Consumers Reports....etc....are all biased, too.

Your ignorance is shown through your lack of spelling, grammar and punctuation. Try out some reading rather than watching YouTube all day.

  • well grammar nazi... no not all of those magazines are bias....also they dont all describe the cobalt as you said they do....none of the articles that i have read about the cobalt say anything about lack of durability. their are many people who drive cobalts and from what i read, hear, and see they mostly hold up on par with the honda civic, which is quite good. AGAIN you show your bias by backing up your fairytale claims with nonexistent info that you just pull out of your ass.

  • J.D. Power and Associates - Cobalt Reliability - 6.0/10 (MEDIOCRE). The Civic isn't good, it's the small car benchmark.

I've replaced two head gaskets on Cobalts with 98K miles and 112K miles. The later had a head that was so wrapped that it couldn't be decked. Head gaskets have been a problem with GM I4s since their conception.

I would take a Focus over a Cobalt and I'm not even a Ford guy. So take that prosaic information and shove it up your ass.

  • reread last post....

  • "reread last post... ." In other words, you were proven a douche and you got nothin'.

  • reread as in you have not provided any type of source as to where your pulling your information from... and no your ass doesn't count. so until you do your point is moot and you are considered a tool..... i doubt you will provide any links though, you will most likely respond to this with more arrogant puss boy talk which seems to be the only thing spewing from that big mouth of yours.

  • YouTube doesnt allow html, url's or special characters in video or channel comments. Use Google, DOCHE. Both US News and True Delta come up first. US News has about 20 references from reputable sources and ranks the Cobalt 6/10 (like I said before DOUCHE). True Delta uses actual customer testimonies to compile data and it shows the Cobalts power plant reliability is poor to mediocre. YOUR ARE SUCH A DOUCHE. Check it out #2 doodoo sauce.

  • I guess JD power and associates don't know jack just like you little boy. A buddy of mine has an 08 sport and thanks to his love for raod trips he has racked up over 175,000 km's with no problems whatsoever. Replaced the timing belt for routine maintenance. I know countless guys well over the 4 and 500,000 km mark. If you drive a cobalt like a jack ass it will indeed break. Thing is if you drive a civic like that, it will break too.

  • Oh, and the pathetic little Civic SI couldn't finish the Nurburghring without breaking a component. Honda is overpriced dogshit and will soon be leap frogged by KIA and Hyundai. GM was one of the Pioneers of VVT, the ECOTEC is used in world land speed record vehicles, a 2.0l LSJ held the world record for fastest street legal compact (SS Supercharged motor) and the new SS Turbo held the FWD Nurburghring world record. SS T/C also beat the EVO X MR at the Tsukuba time attack. So you got nothing.

  • I don't own a Civic and have never owned a Honda vehicle period.

However, if you are inferring that the Honda K20-Series engine is less reliable than a LSJ 2.0 or that it has less of a racing heritage than the LSJ, your are sadly mistaken. The Honda's list of accomplishments couldn't fit within this entire forum.

As far as Nurburghring, I hadn't heard that story, but it's a test track and manufacturer's test and break new vehicles on there daily. That's what it is for.

  • Never said it was more reliable for 1, for 2 I was referring to the LNF, 3 they both have awesome engines, however, for only 175hp the SI is a blatant rip off. Ecotec for all the slamming it takes from you people is truly a world class engine and GM has every bit as much racing heritage as Honda. Gm was also one of the pioneers of VVT so don't go saying that they don 't have heritage either. GM has revolutionized alot of things. The ECOTEC is no slouch. Go read on it a bit!

  • First, the SI has 197 hp, which is no slouch for a naturally aspirated 2.0L, so you obviously haven't driven one.

Second, you got the best deal on the SS for many a reasons: reliability, market demand, and resale value.

Third, I was referring to the K-Series engine's racing heritage not Honda's vs. Chevy's.

Fourth, you can't get a good deal on a Civic because the dealerships won't dicker. The reason is that the Civic has been the quintessential, top-selling, reliable small car for ever.

  • VVT wasn't developed by GM. Fiat came out with it first and Alfa Romeo was the first to put it in a production car. GM dabbled with it in the 70s, but anyone who knows anything remembers how shitty that system was.

Honda's Vtec system has been out since 1989, revolutionized VVT, and is an extremely reliable and complex cam switching technology. ECOTEC sucks.

  • Well like most dipshits you missed whatI said. "ONE OF THE PIONEERS" and saying the ECOTEC sucks just proves you're a typical ignorant youtuber. Stick to the elementary forms my boy.

  • Pioneers typically make advancements with technology, not regress like GM originally did with their shitty 1970s VVT.

  • Wow, three posts, you have trouble thinking on the fly eh?

  • Of all GM vehicles, I would only consider three (all of which are well out of my price range):

    ZR1, CTS-V or a Duramax-powered truck or van.

I would never own a FWD vehicle being Honda or Chevrolet. Definitely not a Cobalt (in any of its trims). In fact, the Cobalt would rank second to the lowest just in head of an Aveo. I suppose that's why GM is phasing out the Cobalt out and dropping the nameplate totally.

  • That's the nice thing about opinions, everyone is entitled to one. You clearly have never driven the SS T/C or even the SS S/C. I have test driven every sport compact that was available prior to purchasing my SS T/C. I know what they all drive like. If I had 40,000 to spend on a car or even 34,000 (Canadian) I would have bought a WRX or an STI. I would have also bought an MS3 but I got the best deal on the SS. For the money I got a car that beats near everything in it's price range. I love it.

  • Congrats on buying a Cavalier...I mean Cobalt.

  • Does you Cobalt say Hertz on the side?

  • YEAH...and calling me a dipshit and little boy is way more original and impressive.

  • It took you two poststo fit that in? And no it isn't original but it sure is true douche.

  • You initially responded to me with two posts douche.

  • Because I ran out of space :)

  • You better have good snow tires to beat everything in its price range 6 months out of the year up there in Canada, EH?

  • Oh no doubt it is good in the snow but Trucks and the STI are far superior to the EVO. And my car never got stuck once. And it isn't susceptible to the same parasitic loss as the EVO.

  • THANKS...That's why I have an STi, douche!

  • Congratulations!

  • Wow...you have driven ALL the sport compact cars, yet you can't tell the difference between and Evo and STi.

That's good, because you are not worthy. I'd love to come across you and your turbocharged rental car someday.

  • By the time that rolls around i'll have the GM stage upgrade and my exhaust and tune. I think at around 320HP it will be a better match! If I dump the overall cost of your car stock into my interior and performance, you would be put to shame. I don't need my car to make up for a tiny cock, I buy cars because I enjoy them. More than I can ay for you. And the four door is the rental dipshit, I own the coupe!

  • My car cost me 27k back in 2005 and I now have title in hand.

Good luck hooking up with 320 hp (if it ever happens) not to mention the ridiculous amount of torque steer. Anyways, I beat Camaros and Mustangs all day with more power than 320.

Soon after, the internals and head gaskets will blow. Factor in the incredible amount of depreciation your car already has, all that money you 'saved' on the initial purchase will be up in smoke while your swallowing mine.

  • No doubt that would be US? 320Hp can be reached with ease so stop feeding the ignorant evo owner stereotype. And torque steer is non-existent currently and frankly when I put the Stage 3 in my old SRT-4 I had almost 400 torque on tap in high octane mode. Never had a problem once. And the internals on the LNF are good to at least 400HP which for street use is way too much. 300WHP is my happy limit. And unlike you I didn't buy my car for resale value because I don't plan on selling it......

  • Now I know you're a liar. The SRT-4 probably has the worst torque steer of any car ever made. You are so full of it.

And, again, I don't have an EVO.

  • ...Frankly the EVO does not appeal to me. It's uncomfortable as sin and the transmission limits the fun factor big time. Clearly you bought your car as an investment but really, cars are a shit investment and your stupid for thinking any car is a good investment. The extra $7000 I didn't spend went into an RRSP. It's pretty sad when you have to compare your evo to my Cobalt SS but I guess when you can't compete with your own class you sink a little to make yourself feel better. I pity you!

  • I don't have an EVO, and to compare my Subaru to your piece is absurd.

I agree, cars are terrible investments, but if you should ever happen to wreck and total out your Cobalt, you'll see where resale comes into play. Your car is probably worth about half as much as mine now and I only paid $5k more.

  • Actually moron I got walk away protection insurance. I planned for depreciation. I still love my car and I always will and if I crash my entire value is covered regardless. So you don't know what you're talking about and you no not what you speak about the SRT-4. The Caliber has murderous torque steer, not the Neon SRT-4. And I know you never drove one so st
