Muitos não sabem, mas o carro mais rápido é o Vermelho e, para não ter o problema de gastar muita gasolina, é necessário utilizar o câmbio 'manual' (usando os botões L e R para mudar a marcha) pois o câmbio 'auto' do jogo é muito ruim (essa era a ideia, assim o jogador mais habilidoso será mais rápido).

Dessa forma, o carro Vermelho gasta a mesma quantidade de gasolina do carro Branco se o jogador baixar a marcha ao bater e somente utilizar a quinta marcha enquanto acima de 220 Km/h.

I'm in near tears remembering how great my childhood was. All the kids thought i was weird because i never wanted to grow up. My childhood was the best part of my life, and I would give almost anything to re-live it. This game brings back so many memories of me and my siblings when we all lived together. I miss those old days.

I'm now trying to complete this track in championship skill level. I'm doing my best (perfect pitstop, no crashes) with the white car (the slower, but the less fuel consuptiom one - what makes it the best choice) but I just can't get better than 6th in the end. What's the mistery? I'm playing with manual gear. Will it be this the cause?

SmoothCriminalAaron: No, you always play on half a screen. The sequel (Top Gear 2) lets you play full screen, however.

That track in Rome is the most difficult to be the 1st when we are competing in the Championship level, since we have to stop at the pit and the track is too flat to get speed advantage.

Yeah and apart from that I don't know how but the other cars somehow go fast and you can't ever reach them in Championship level.

I played this track using the white car on Championship and there was no way I could finish it on 1st place.

My favorite is the blue car but the red car is the best, only suited for good drivers

Professional level, the white isn't the best choice in my opinion... Its long to gain pole position because it doesn't have much speed. Red Car is better, if your a good driver and you know the race for the best fuel/balance only!

yep the red car is my favorite, but what sucks is that you never reach the max speed it's speed that it stay constant is @ 130MPH, however once in low fuel your speed increases.

This is because as the fuel load gets lower, the car gets lighter in weight causing it to go faster and turn slightly better.

rainbowarrior15: Yeah, it's not very realistic, but it is from 1992. They just use images of the landmarks (like the Colosseum) in the backgrounds, and that's about it.

Not to me. Mode 7 games have a certain look (and usually flat landscape) like Super Mario Kart, F-Zero, and Pilotwings. They also seem to look smoother than Top Gear does.
