Love your video! I couldn't figure out what to get my Mom for her birthday, and she's a huge crochet fanatic, so I think this will be an amazing gift! (My first try was a lot tighter than yours, so I'm going to try to loosen my stitches on my next one.) Thank You :D
You know you are really great at making it look easy and understandable.! cause i am not good at all and you made me learn and get better!! THANK YOU SO MUCH <3 your amazing!
Is this a good project for someone who has never crocheted a single stitch?? I really like the way you explain it , but still I am having a little trouble.
Hi, this looks like it will be easy to follow along with! do you use all 3 skeins of yarn for the one scarf? also how do you keep your yarn from knotting? I had a really hard time with this and it ruined my whole scarf :(
@Alibidancer929 Only use all three skeins if you want a really long scarf. But, you can also get three different colors and change colors at the end of each row for a different look. Hmmmm Knotting? Where exactly is the knotting happening, is it in just where you are holding the yarn? Or is it within the stitches? If in holding you just need to be aware and fix the yarn from time to time, if it is in the stitches you are wrapping too tight. Let me know okay.
@bugaloospoodle Okay so you only need one skein to complete the whole scarf? Its hard to explain; I guess just all my yarn is knotting, and I can't pull anymore out to use it. Is there a way to ball the yarn so that it doesn't do that? Thank you!
@Alibidancer929 Oh, you mean his guts keep falling out LOL! You should really always ball the yarn up before you start. Mine still gets all tangled up and I have to have the kids untangle it. I know how frustrating that can be. If you are now working with the yarn and yo don't want to undo your work. Just find the other end and start to make a ball with that side of the yarn.
@bugaloospoodle ok, sorry I am new at this, do you have any suggestions on how to ball the yarn, is there any videos or something I could learn it from? If not that's okay!! thank you for your help. sorry to keep asking this but I'm going to get new yarn this weekend, can I do this whole scarf with 1 skein or do I need more than that?
@Alibidancer929 You will need at least two skeins of yarn to get a good sized scarf. Also when you get your yarn the first thing you need to is find both ends of the yarn. One will be from the inside and one will be from the outside. Use the end from the outside of the yarn and just start rolling it into a ball. Then after you do that it will be easier to work with. I hope this helps and don't be sorry I don't mind answering your questions.
i finished my scarf! it took about a week but my scarf is twice wider. i got huge problems with edges, they aint strict but kind of curved(. anyway soo happy and proud of myself.))))) thanks again for the video.
@TheHeatherjane You start into the next immediate stitch, the counting four chains before starting first stitch just makes the beginning even and keeps the edge straight. It also counts as your first DC stitch. I hope I helped and answered your question.
@chrisrichbestfan just keep working and it should straighten itself out, you also maybe pulling the stitches a little tight so loosen up a little when you are holding the extra yarn, that might help.

the scarf i made had ends that curled over (like a curly fry if you can imagine)
how can i prevent that with the second scarf i make? is it because my stitches are uneven?

got a question, when you double crochet, after you do the first one do you count to 4 again or do you start on the next stitch?
TheHeatherjane 1 year ago
@TheHeatherjane You start into the next immediate stitch, the counting four chains before starting first stitch just makes the beginning even and keeps the edge straight. It also counts as your first DC stitch. I hope I helped and answered your question.

ok, my scarf whenever i do the double stitch is like swirling. It doesnt go straight it goes in like a spiral form, whats wrong?

i do not have the needle can i do it with an other one it look like a regular one but thick and big
chjohnnygf 2 years ago
Yes you can use a different size needle, it just makes the stitches bigger and it will work up faster. Good luck.
