They don't prime the oil filter at the shop I go too, and it takes about 5 seconds for the low oil pressure light to go out when I first start the car.

u only need to prime up turbo deisel truck oil filters not na or turbo cars its not to save time its just not needed every time u shut off your car it drians back to your oil pan unless it has an anti flow valve in the filter...

@rushtoyota It's a good practice to fill the oil filter in just about any vehicle. The ADBVs are there in part to keep oil in the filter, because it does matter. If the filter doesn't have an ADBV, then there may be an ADBV built into the engine, but even in that case filling the filter is a good idea. It's easy, fast, and cannot hurt.

man you helped me today I took my car by a dealer and they tighten my oil filter I almost give up and just change my oil with out changing my filter then I saw your video thank you man I did it with some pressure again thank you for putting on this video

i would like to see this done on a caviler with a cartridge, good way to trick people in thinking that all the filters are the same, also, i dont remember what year exactly, but on a tundra or tacoma the filter is at the top of the engine, if you were to fill it half way then you would just dump it all over your engine, o look it hit the starter, then the next time that you start your car up it catches on fire, great tip

uhm no you dont have to prime the filter unless its like a 1 quart filter like on diesel motors. or if its a turbo charged motor.

no u should always put new oil in the the new filter before u put it on

thats not always an option. i work on 30-40 vehicles a day changing oil. not all of them have an oil filter that is mounted straight up and down to where you can prime the filter before hand. and if you check and add oil afterward youre fine.

i doesnt matter if the up and down or sideways so wat if u spill a little just clean it up, atleast the fiter has some oil in it
