buddy about the intro of this video, and hitting the reset button on accident. how about DONT connect the reset button to your motherboard?? who actually hooks there reset button up??, who the fuck actually would use that shit button ROFL
This things A beast I love it. I only ran into one issue when I was putting in the 2nd top case fan the optional one. The wires from the front panel get smashed into the fan and I don't see any way around it am I doing something wrong?
Besides that my temps stay down nice and cool with a ton of space to add future parts.
I've got a HAF X and it's a really good case. It's really strong, no risks of damaging it. Cooling is really efficient, especially for the graphic card(s) : you can put 4 graphics cards in it and keep them cool. My overclocked GTX460 reach only 66°C with FurMark stress test after 1 hour. Also you can put in the biggest graphics cards, biggest CPU coolers and biggest power supplies.
I was thinking of getting this coolermaster but i did seen the fact that there was not enough room for bracket as well and u cleared my mind on this ty man. p.s. ok slow but clear :)
@Sinistar24 I know you can overclock it up to about 4.7 Ghx with liquid cooling. I've heard or people hitting 4.5 Ghz with it with the stock cooler. I'm using the H60 with my 2500k and running it at 4.3 Ghz.
I agree with most of what has been said on here, but will add a few things that I believe are worth noting. Having the top front fan port, with out a fan installed from coolermaster, is just stupid. If you don't buy a fan, or mount the water cooling system as mentioned in this video, you have a HUGE opening that just invites dust to collect inside. Also, the hot swap front trays, this needs tools, so is inefficient at best. If they had come with extra trays, then it would make sense.
To continue, anyone that is going to buy this case, is not going to put a cheap computer together, this is for high end builds. Why is there no lock point built in? With the hardware so easy to remove, not have a case lock, is like leaving the car door open, and the engine running, what were they thinking. Here is why I say this, my build
Asus P8Z68 V-PRO, i7 2600k, 16GB Corsair Vengence 1600mhz RAM, Asus DVD reader, Asus DL DVD burner, Asus DL BD burner, V8 cooler, 5 HDs (7TB)
2 Sapphire HD6970 crossfire cards, using a Cougar 1050w 80gold PS.
I built this, trying to future proof for some time to come, I am not an OCer, just like my games to run great. This case helps a lot, love all the space to navigate inside. I am using this with a Samsung 55inch LED, but might back down to a 32inch, 55 is just too big for a monitor. Using onboard audio, through a yamaha receiver. Not sure if I should spring for an audio card, would love recommendations.
Nice review. I have the 922 and I just like how mine looks and functions. For some reason the 932 and 942 don't appeal to me. And the price I got my case for is great for all the components i need too. This might seem weird but I like your voice! Its not annoying like many others haha..
im trying to debate between the HAF 932 and this. i really like the dust filters on the HAF X, its really the only reason im considering this over the 932. but at $40 im just not sure its worth it.
Did anyone else have problems with securing their expansion cards? I'm running an Asus formula III, gtx 470, and this case. The plating at the end of the 470 doesn't reach the screw hole for the expansion slot, leaving the card insecure. Any help appreciated. First build btw.
I'm guessing you self taught yourself most of this stuff because most of it is wrong.... first, all the hard drive bays support SSD's but don't have the cool bracket, you need to buy extra'. Secondly. what are you talking about with the EVGA Classified, it is by far one of the biggest motherboards on the market and is not standard, as nearly all standard sized motherboards do fit well with the back plate cut out, it is because the classified is so much bigger it doesn't fit.
@TimothyZhu ..... Aesthetic perception, woah. Perhaps he likes the "gameness" of it. The 800D is all sleek and sexy but this just looks like it would fuck shit up. Aesthetics appeal to individuals, some people like this case and other like the 800D. This is because, well "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
What would you recommend for a nice cooling case (SLI in mind) that supports at least one 3.5 front bay port? The only thing I can find is the CM HAF 932 Advance. That case has a few gotchas I am not a huge fan of though. Anything else out there?
@Askepticos you mean by Air Cooling? best is by FAR the Haf X, that being said this case can also start up with Watercooling so it's a good way to get started on trying Watercooling, if you're ok with Watercooling then go for the Obsidian 800D by Corsair
Is that the SR-2 Classified? Because, if so, the reason you're getting problems with the backplate is that the SR-2 is a huge mobo, and a non-traditional form factor. I think it's the HPTX, or something like that, but it's much bigger than the E-ATX, which is what the HAF X is rated to hold, at most.
@LOLCHICKEN92 Thats not the SR 2, You can only see one Processor Slot, and just one Position for the Rams, that looks like the EVGA X58 Classified 3 way SLI which is EATX I believe, and in addition to this I have to say that it woulndt be the first time for CM to fail at this, so I'm DEEPLY Dissapointed, because I got the CM HAF 932 (Full Tower) And I was totally pissed because the back CPU Hole wasnt big enough to fit the CPU Position of my ASUS Rampage III Extreme which is just a SIMPLE ATX!!!
@SithBerserker1488 Rampage III Extreme is an EATX Board, but I will admit if you have an EATX Board, the cutout is NOT Big enough for it, I've been tembeted to mod my case (I have the Haf X) to make the whole bigger, and possibly add more Cable management spots
@ToKiiNz no the Sabertooth p67 (Revision 3.0) is an ATX board (the way you can tell if it's an EATX or ATX is where is the top right Screw hole located? if it's on the Corner then it's ATX if it's close to the corener but a bit to the left it's EATX)
If any one reads this. I would love to see some one make a computer using the Thermaltake Chaser MK 1 and actually document the building process of the machine and I would also like to see some one building a machine with this case.
Hhahahahahahah, how bored are you to go through all of the comments and then write this to me? What are you against a little joke? If you are homosexual its fair? I dont have a problem with that, but i dont see why you have to comment on it? I dont really like homosexuals, we all got different styles. Your style is to go and "protect" people on YouTube... To lame dude..
ive done my research for the haf x and found out that its not exactly the haf x's fault about the backplate cut out problem this guy faced. the evga classified's cpu placement is also a little to blame at least if not then entirely. honestly i'd give this case a A++ and definitely worth your money and then some.
@Masterfighterx kinda i did try to post a link but wouldnt let me (youtube suxxs) erm google 2.0 vs 3.0 and click on images you will see a load next to each other
The good thing about your video's compared to 'other video reviews', is that you do not suffer from attention difisit disorder, in short add.
Another, in my opinion, bést part about your review, is that you support video's up to 1080P. Since there's a lot of things on computer parts that are very small, yet important to see before buying, a 240p or 360p video does not show the component very well. Supporting formats up to 1080P makes this easier.
It's called HAF-X 942, because it has "942" in it's model number. It IS a 942, because it's an upgraded and slightly remodeled version of 932, they are almost identical.
@elizabethbennettgirl sorry i have been away it just has better in take out take, more room, better cable management n in my opinion looks so much better
Also, there is no better Full-Tower case in the mid-end price segment than HAF-X 942 right now, and that won't change at least for 2 years. If you plan to buy new Full-Tower case and for a reasonable price, this is your choice. All others suck to HAF-X 942. Probably (that's my personal IMHO now) the only case that can be better than HAF-X 942, is another, newer model of the HAF series. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fanboy.
That's H. A. F. X...I don't know what the hell middle school or junior high school English classes, or who your English Teacher was, but when you see a group of capitol letters together like that in a name, that means it's an Acronym, that means each letter stands for something different...
Hi James, at 10:33 into the video you talk about the backplate not being big enough, can you go into more detail on that ? .. also - best video on Youtube, - nobody comes close. Question for ya, - the 2 swappable drives in front, - can you swap those out WITHOUT removing the front panel ? .... I'm saw the Acer Predator case at BestBuy here in Canada and fell in love with the SATA drive pullout drive method. Amazing. This case looks nice. Will it work with reg. size motherboard though ? hmm.
Remember, this case was specifically made for extreme overclocking and that REQUIRES watercooling not an air fan, thous the short hole in the back of the CPU.
is this upgrade good, i will use it most for playing games and video editing. what i have now: amd phenom 2 965 3.4GHz(basic cooler) 8GB vengeance DDR3 CL9 XFX RADEON HD 6970 2GB MSI 870A-G54 WD 2TB 5400rpm UPGRADE: Intel i7 2600k with the corsair H70 cooler 8GB vengeance DDR3 CL9 maybe 12GB XFX RADEON HD 6970 2GB Corsair SSD Force Series 3 120GB WD 2TB 5400rpm and one of these mother boards MSI P67A-GD65 B3 MSI P67A-GD80 B3 MSI Z68A-GD65 which of these motherboards should i buy,
To solve the reset/LED button problem, why don't you just no connect the reset connector to your motherboard? If you want to reset your computer, do it through your operating system.
F- for the review. I won't say how I really feel, but I am absolutely devastated that someone who uses a outdated, oversized motherboard is complaining about the cpu backplate cut out of this case. Let me get this right, you bought a very expensive, overpriced motherbaord and took no time to research out the case? You're using one video card, low end at that and trying to review this case? I'd say stop trying to do reviews and stick to eating, something it appears you're good at.

one place on the top to add 230mm.also 120mm and 80mm to put inside sort of video supporters.(80mm has to be around 15mm deep)

I think I'm choosing this case instead the 932.
JaxDryke 7 months ago
942 doesn't really exist... it's just called X -.- just saying :) don't get angry on me :(
Truzzetyv 7 months ago
@Truzzetyv
阿侯ダ!
It's called HAF-X 942, because it has "942" in it's model number. It IS a 942, because it's an upgraded and slightly remodeled version of 932, they are almost identical.

@CharlesWaddle he even mounted it in the wrong direction
DarkPrefix 5 months ago
@DarkPrefix It's mounted for airflow from front to back. Also, it's not a stock cooler. I'm surprised at how many people can't recognize that.
SuperBoeBros 4 months ago
@SuperBoeBros Wouldn't it make more sense to have the exhaust upwards since you can have more exhaust there.

@CharlesWaddle i am pretty certain that cooler is intels "aftermarket" cooler and apprently you get good temps with it enought you can oc with it

@Kawayol ok calm down i haven't decided yet. I may go for obsidian 800d.

Believe me miss, I am calm as the morning sea. :3
Kawayol 6 months ago
@Kawayol ok then i'll go for it ! thanks for your advice

That's H. A.

Will it work with reg. size motherboard though ? hmm.
FrostyTheBeerMan 7 months ago
Remember, this case was specifically made for extreme overclocking and that REQUIRES watercooling not an air fan, thous the short hole in the back of the CPU.
