I am not going to argue about the merits of his bonus, but the money was his. He legally earned it. Also, AIG was never a private company, it was a publicly traded company. These bonuses do not matter anyway. AIG is going to repay the government as it dismantles its financial products division.
Hey do not bother about these elitists who support DeSantis. These elitists come up with lame arguments and whines when they already had a large share of the economy. We, the ones against, put up REAL arguments that are based on principles and values.
idesofmarchUNIAEA, if you have nothing good to say, then don't say it. You just making me laugh
Madam, Mr. Desantis ran a profitable division at A.I.G.. His division when sold off, will save tax payers billions. You are an example of public education. Your lack of understanding of a situation is dangerous.Your spreading of filth through uniformed comment is a danger to the world. You create, by intent or just shear stupidity, class envy. Hopefully people will read the source, and not your diatribe.
After 12 months of hard work dismantling the company — during which A.I.G. reassured us many times we would be rewarded in March 2009 — we in the financial products unit have been betrayed by A.I.G. and are being unfairly persecuted by elected officials. In response to this, I will now leave the company and donate my entire post-tax retention payment to those suffering from the global economic downturn. My intent is to keep none of the money myself.
Madam,You simply don't get it. His quote was"I am proud of everything I have done for the commodity
and equity divisions of A.I.G.-F.P. I was in no way involved in — or responsible for — the credit default swap transactions that have hamstrung A.I.G. Nor were more than a handful of the 400 current employees of A.I.G.-F.P. Most of those responsible have left the company and have conspicuously escaped the public outrage."
You never had a contract, have you? He deserved the money, you and the fools in Washington have no integrity, I pay taxes and I don't want anyone to steal in my name. This talented man deserves more than some punk that can hit a ball or sing some rap crap.
read the stimulus package, AIG bonuses were protected in that huge thing. as far as the VP of AIG, he was working for 1$ a year, the bonus was what he was working for. BTW the actual bonus was just under $750,000 after taxes, and this was before they were going to be taxed 90% its very easy to toe the line for either side, you can take what you hear on the news, which will be slanted one way or the other, or you can do the research yourself, and maybe not follow along like the rest of the sheep.
