I now being to understand why they have to change most voice actors. One of them were likely Funimation dub, if you know what I mean since 4kids are done with this.
I'll bring out the examples. I would say Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman's new voices were the best so far. And as for the others, well I think they were trying to do their best. I think Amy, Big, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, and Team Chaotix voice actor tried to make it sound like from SA2 and Sonic Heroes. As for last three, were great

I'm on thin ice with this fanbase, and I get the feeling that Sega are too! I worry about the fans reation to the next game in the series, I really do!
@Bowmaj21 Hey don't worry. Not as many ppl have a problem with this cast as the original, Sonic 4 was still successful, Sonic Colors was well-received and Sonic Generations was greatly received.
I do prefer the Genesis and Adventure series style of plots but I don't complain about the current one. Have stated my opinion on them before but hopefully ppl don't take it as me complaining. ^^;

Personally I wanted Johnny Yong Bosch as Shadow, Troy Baker as Knuckles (sounds like Scott Drier and Dan Green mixed) but Travis does well. Thought Knux was voiced by Kyle Hebert at first but turned out he was big, but it sounds fine. lol Silver and Blaze are near perfect and the rest are so identical to at least 1 of their previous VA's that it's hard to dislike for me. lol
@Axxidous EVERYONE wanted Johnny to voice Shadow. I know I did! I actually thought that Crispin Freeeman could make a decent Knuckles, but I glad Travis sounds the same to Dan. He was one of the few voices I was okay with.

I think Rouge's voice is much better than the one in Sonic Next Gen... i mean its still a little deep but its way more fitting to her, and it doesnt sound like a MAN.
I know most of you won't agree with me, but I actually really like Shadow's new voice. :) It's much older and more matured sounding, not to mention different and unique compared to that last bland, angsty "I'm brooding and dark, grrr. >:(" voice he had. While it's unlikely, I think this new Shadow might open up an oppurtunity to possibly develop his character past being a generic anti hero and make him more unique, maybe mature him up and add something more to his character, ya know?

@SonicResearcher well he should really have a slightly deeper voice because he is a boy. Many of my friends who have played sonic games for years are still convinced that tails is a girl! In my opinion I preferred the original games where they didn't speak at all, but if they must talk then I prefer the previous voice actors.
Both of Cream's voice actors are great, Rouge sounds like she got younger, Shadow, Blaze and Espio hardly changed, and Amy turned from an easily enraged stalker to a Cream-One-Year-Later.
...and not just because they're members of the Royal Brittannian Family. But seriously, I can't NOT imagine Euphemia when hearing Cream now, and Schneizel when hearing Espio.
Imagining Euphemia as Cream is great too, as their characters are alike-- very sweet and pure of heart. Both are so cute.
As for Schneizel and Espio, it's just so awesome. I either think of a royal prince who suddenly turned ninja, or a ninja who has some princely qualities. IT'S SO AWESOME.
Tails sounds like a boy. It's perfect. And I love Charmy and his new voice. If you really listen for it, you'll notice the difference in Silver's voice too.
Interesting, Amy and Shadow's voices sound more like their previous voice actors than how they sounded in Free Riders.
Still, when the 4Kids VAs were still new, they did get better over time, but in games like ShTH and Sonic 06, they had poor voice acting, mainly for the voice acting, which has an impact on voice acting, was just as poor..
(Continued) That said, I would say the reason that Amy and Shadow, who both have new voice actors as of this game (though you all knew that), sounded more like their previous voice actors like they did in Sonic Free Riders, for while they have only a few lines here, the voice directing, as it had affected the voice acting in Free Riders, was not as good as it was for when the two characters' new voice actors portrayed them in this game.

I think Rouge's voice is much better than the one in Sonic Next Gen... i mean its still a little deep but its way more fitting to her, and it doesnt sound like a MAN.

Ok, here's what I think.

I know most of you won't agree with me, but I actually really like Shadow's new voice. :) It's much older and more matured sounding, not to mention different and unique compared to that last bland, angsty "I'm brooding and dark, grrr. >:(" voice he had. While it's unlikely, I think this new Shadow might open up an oppurtunity to possibly develop his character past being a generic anti hero and make him more unique, maybe mature him up and add something more to his character, ya know?

@SonicResearcher well he should really have a slightly deeper voice because he is a boy. Many of my friends who have played sonic games for years are still convinced that tails is a girl! In my opinion I preferred the original games where they didn't speak at all, but if they must talk then I prefer the previous voice actors.

I love Cream. And Espio.
...and not just because they're members of the Royal Brittannian Family. But seriously, I can't NOT imagine Euphemia when hearing Cream now, and Schneizel when hearing Espio.
Imagining Euphemia as Cream is great too, as their characters are alike-- very sweet and pure of heart. Both are so cute.
As for Schneizel and Espio, it's just so awesome. I either think of a royal prince who suddenly turned ninja, or a ninja who has some princely qualities. IT'S SO AWESOME.

Tails sounds like a boy. It's perfect. And I love Charmy and his new voice. If you really listen for it, you'll notice the difference in Silver's voice too.

Interesting, Amy and Shadow's voices sound more like their previous voice actors than how they sounded in Free Riders.
Still, when the 4Kids VAs were still new, they did get better over time, but in games like ShTH and Sonic 06, they had poor voice acting, mainly for the voice acting, which has an impact on voice acting, was just as poor..

(Continued) That said, I would say the reason that Amy and Shadow, who both have new voice actors as of this game (though you all knew that), sounded more like their previous voice actors like they did in Sonic Free Riders, for while they have only a few lines here, the voice directing, as it had affected the voice acting in Free Riders, was not as good as it was for when the two characters' new voice actors portrayed them in this game.
Just wanted to point that out.

My first time hearing Vic's rendition of Omega...
I actually really like the new voice; it sounds exactly like E-102 Gamma. Even surprising when you're used to his typical voice for characters like Edward and Hikaru Ichijo. Although that could be due to the editing done to make his voice sound more robotic.
