  • Cocaine's hell of a drug

  • COMPLETE AND WONDERFUL!

  • She is most beautiful woman ever!

  • what a waiste

  • what a beautiful smile :)

  • I've read that her and Jimi were really nice people. I've read that Janis was picked on all through high school and bullied by the other kids. I hope they got to see her shine :)

  • I read that when she was in college, one of the fraternities named her the "Ugliest guy in college". Cant believe that. Shes laughing now.

  • Dick Cavett looks like a really good interviewer.

  • I could hang with her,Wasnt she so cool. Her outfits are rockin.R.I.P. Janis you are loved.

  • Janis Joplin ROCKED!

  • Nobody is holding a gun to your head to make you watch the video, if you don't like it, don't watch it, and until you have walked in someone else's shoes it might be a good idea to keep your judgement to yourself. She was ridiculed all her life and still had to guts to do what was in her heart, how many of you can say that you don't cave in and do what everyone else does because you're afraid your "friends" might laugh at you or think you're crazy, not many I'll bet....

  • so bittersweet, such a fabulous talent and so down to earth in this interview. It makes me both happy and sad to watch this.

  • Lady Gaga, eat your heart out... All the stupid acts of today that don't have talent, remember Janis Joplin. She had MEGA talent, and she was weird. Today, the "artists" have no talent, and are REALLY weird. Pick up an instrument, and stop showboating... Find some talent, and use it. The REAL 1% are the ones that won't buy into the GARBAGE that Generation X is trying to cram down our throats... REAL MUSIC comes from instruments. NOT a machine. RAP, HIP-HOP, and "NEW R & B"? You're OUT.

  • utter rubbish. she was brilliant after big brother

  • She was only as good as Big Brother. After that she was just another dive bar singer.

  • omg what the fuck has that girl in her hair?!

  • @Lori16311 feather boas. Why is that shocking?

  • @FaerieCrone cause that looks fucking stupid. worse than Amy Winehouses hair!

  • @Lori16311 Yeah well I don't think that it would matter to either of them now, whether people liked their hair or not - they're both gone.

  • @Lori16311 Love Amy AND her silly bee-hive. Don't hate....LOL

  • Elvis ,Dylan, Morrison , Brian Jones , lennon, Amy Winehouse et al were all laughed at by their peers. Still no excuse to make a bargain with the devil! Harden up ,Princess!

  • Way before my time, but what a lovely sweet lady x

  • Her hair was magical = )

  • @shaneshakyid no.....they were not anywhere close to being equals....janis was professional.

  • Please I really love this interview, but I cant undestand what she said refer to the high school ppl, somebody could writing for me, I'll apprecciat it.( They kick me out ,the town the city the school and... ( I miss this part)

  • @adrianamarcia123 I think she said "they laughed (?) me out of class, out of town and out of the state"

  • @adrianamarcia123 "they kicked me outta town, outta the school and outta the state man" x

  • @pictureisup1 - the year is 1970, the year of her death. 3 interviews of her on the Dick Cavett show from 1969 and 1970 are avaiable on DVD...

  • This was her best interview. What year was this? Does anybody know?

  • here we are now

    entertain us

  • I love you. See you in heaven

  • she was so lovely

  • There is truth and sadness in the words of an innocent, when it is said that only the good die young I wonder if the line "this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you" maybe there is comfort that awaits in those who outside smile and inside hurt - rip jj

  • 1:07

    that's why i'm going

  • Janis,I always admire your interviews.

  • you're such a fuckin' retard.

  • I would have loved to of hung out with Janis...Just for a day and a night.

  • Ela tinha um jeitinho de criança. É uma pena que tenha morrido tão cedo.

  • Pearl was the most Dynamite Digable artist who ever lived & the goddamn Landmark Inn checked her in there. Nobody at the Landmark even knew who she is.

  • janice Joplin She should've been on non

  • @AmericanBlackshirt1 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Okey doke.

  • @AmericanBlackshirt1 are you religious by any chance?

  • @AmericanBlackshirt1 a bit of a troll, ain'tcha? umad bro?

  • @AmericanBlackshirt1 You'll probably die a nobody. One can at least hope.

  • Why Busking trail spot in the vid... we only want to see Janis....

  • These two are like 2 peas in a pod. So amazing I wish she was still around. I love her with all my heart. I met a girl around christmas who looked EXACTLY like her nose smile and everything, had the same voice and same persona. It was insane, i wanted to be around her like 24/7 because she was SO MUCH like her.

  • It makes me sad to watch her interviews even when she's funny and laughing and singing because I know that she was probably almost always hurting. Or, at least, it looks like it. As soon as a smile on her face pauses, it's replaced by the saddest looking face I've ever seen in my life. Her smiles seem like a bandaid that doesn't quite stick. And it's just so sad. RIP Janis.

  • @aGlowingTeapot  ...That, exactly. ;_;

  • She is so artistic. She's not and old soul in a young body. She is brilliant and doesn't know it. She is way head of her time. Star child. A gift from GOD.

  • Old soul in a young body is the story of my life!

    R.I.P Janis <3

  • I can identify with Janis. An old soul in a young body. I'm the same age as she was.

  • she is hard not to like in these interview no matter how you feel about her music

  • I just love her. An old soul in a young body.

  • She's SO cool!!!!!!!!!! She has a great voice and wow, what a nice person....

  • she is absolutely adorable-what a great talent too

  • I love janis! she's cooler than hell

  • Cant wait for the movie to come out in theaters about her!

  • could anymone tell me the date of the interview?

  • Don't quite understand why she cared at all what a bunch of high school as*holes thought. If they could not accept her as she was in high school, she should have realized she was to good for them. Maybe it was her age, she was still young at 27. Another 5 or 6 years she probably would not have even bothered going back to see people that made her unhappy.

  • With a good stylist, she would have been able to transform herself into a beautiful woman just like Kelly Osbourne did, but with talent...

  • @SVinNJ u really havnt got it have ya?? she was a beutiful creative woman with a big heart no matter clothing, she had her own style and life philosophy as well intelligent and thats what makes a woman.. and u can't really compare kelly osbourne with janis joplin its like comparing moon with sun both beutiful but nothing alike. love

  • Actually she wasn't pretty. She must have been in the chair about a couple of hours at least to look that good. She was a very withdrawn person who exploded when she performed; probably the reason she welcomed the hoots and screams during her performances...recognition at last! She was worthy of it; a rare and unique talent totally out of left field from the 60's rock scene. She was one of the elements that made the 60's esoteric...and weird.

  • lol that guys seems a little uneasy about her

  • On t'aimais tant ................

  • I wish I could have been her friend.

  • i love you janis!

  • damn she is hot.,and have a sexy voice

  • She was a pretty girl.

  • @chicherchio Pretty stoned.

  • ahahah i love what shes wearing, its sick!

  • I just love her!!!!!! too bad her high school friends treated her so badly. their loss. a great story teller with color.

  • With the new movie announced it will be interesting to see if they point to that reunion as the cause of the depression that lead to her death. That is the common story told on the radio.

  • Janis was beautiful but a vey sad individual inside. I wish i could've hugged her and told her that I love her and that God loves her too. Gone too soon!!

  • zooey deschanel actually looks a lot like her. they couldn't have picked somebody better to play her.

  • I would marry janis joplin

    R.I.P.

  • <3 <3 <3 !

  • OMG! I love her so much... MAN!

  • She was a gentle soul. I think she looks soo pretty here. It's saddening she's not here.

  • A legend....

  • You can tell that she was a very lonely and sad soul. Just look at her face and eyes..she seems very lonely!!!

  • @oolivebeauty: such is, occasionally, the lot of musical genius. The rest of us can only attempt to understand the inner workings of such minds. She loved fearlessly; both music and people ... the only way to REALLY love anything or anyone. Coming up, not many black people from my generation knew who Janis Joplin was; I, myself, had never heard of her or her music until an ex (who is white) introduced me to it. I fucking love her voice ... it transcends boundaries. She was a cutie, too.

  • I love janis. She has pulled me through so much bullshit

  • She was never clean again-as heavy as she was into drugs and drinking (Southern Comfort) while performing, and she wasn' t here during this taping, which was truly sad. I loved this woman's talent and miss her every day...ano' Billy Holiday. Her amphetimine use was overabundant but doctors in the 60's prescribed them as if they were aspirin.

  • Janis is my Hero!

  • What a sweet heart. This is when she went clean for a while. Look how beautiful she looks here, although, she always is beautiful in my heart. I am so glad I was able to see her live on TV as a kid. I was born in 1962 when she recorded her first song "What Good Can Drinking Do". What a pure creative genius.

  • She was very intelligent, creative, and kind hearted. I, like many millions of others, miss her to this day.

  • Janis sure did really made this asshole classmates jealous with all the sucess and money she made between in the late 60s and early 70s.

  • hey, maybe I should start attending my highschool reunions too

oh Lord, why dont you give me a Mercedes bench!!

  • lol.. that 'bench'... that was a good pun! or was it?

  • just a little hitch hiking in Brazil..

  • hi Janis! We miss you!!
