NACAR's claim is lack of sponsor interest, but if you look at what they have turned the Cup series into now then you can easily see how IROC ratings would have DESTROYED NASCAR forever. And I think thats why they axed it, because the racing was just too good for NASCAR to compete with. Just my own opinion on the deal.

@SlyHobbit You do know know that Nascar had absolutely NO relationship with the IROC series... therefore they couldn't do anything to the series... Lack of funding is what dropped the series

Why did this series fold? They should bring it back and add some more races + drivers.

It's so hard to do it because all of the drivers from all of the series need to be available for one race weekend at the right race track which is why it is always at the same track that Cup is racing at that weekend and the reason why so many Cup drivers race in it. And two, they couldn't find a sponsor and the demand for the series dwindled.
