you learn whats hot and whats not real fast, If you were to wear gloves... welding gloves would make it impossible to move with any dexterity and do little for the heat (if you say tried to hold a hot piece with it you'd burn yourself and ruin the glove) Fingerprints grow back, you just gotta know whats cool, whats hot and whats too hot.

tha heat doesnt get transfered to the glass and burn your hands ? or does the glass simply not conduct that much heat ?

You can easily get burnt most beginners use welding gloves, you have to have long rods of glass coming off your piece in order to not get burnt, notice how he holds it at the edges
