My only concern about Drobo is the speed - and what the total amount of data that you can run from Drobo out..? Id you work in Final Cut Studio, processing video - how much speed will you get from direct processing on Drobo...?

To make an extra backup with a drive (for entire Drobo) it's useless. To get in trouble with Drobo - you have to lose more than 2 drives.
How you'll manage the problem if your total amount of data gets around 12 TB , you'll buy another Drobo?:)
