7:20 and onward is the philosophy of Nietzsche and Albert Camus. The origins of Moore's philosophical point of view. Moral ambiguity in a godless world. The human condition drowning in an ocean of meaninglessness....outside of whatever meaning you choose to give it. I choose the life of a drunken backwards cave man who knows how to use the internet.
Great job on the music...especially how it turned just perfect for the point where Rorschach realizes what the dogs are chewing on....and the windows breaking, excellent!
Animals seem to have some sort of extra sense that we don't. On many occasions, just before a natural disaster such as an earthquake, animals have cleared the area before even our most advanced equipment has been able to track what's coming. Rorschach is figuratively suggesting that they know the darkness of life - which he now embraces.
Thanx! That's a very interesting interpretation BUT (prepare to have your mind blown) cats scream in the middle of the night BECAUSE THEY ARE IN HEAT! Everyone I ask says so, even the vet. This is gonna sound stupid but maybe Rorschach got really "excited" just then. I really appreciate your answer but it still doesn't feel like the right one...
I believe that you're BOTH right and there's another instance when cats scream: when they're afraid! I owned a cat who did just that when a former roommate of mine died RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM! Check with your vet on situations like THAT!
Thank you. My friend and roommate was a survivor, if you can call it that, of a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler. My friend drove a VW beetle. He periodically required dialysis to get through the day. One day, his kidneys gave out and my tomcat, Elric, was the only "witness." When I came home after visiting family, Elric was crying in a louder voice than I've ever heard him cry! I called a neighbor, we called the police so that they could rule out foul play and they called an ambulance.
It's possible that there was human flesh on the bones before they gnawed on the bones. If that were true, killing them would have been customary and possibly humane. Once a carnivorous animal, even a dog, has tasted flesh, he/she becomes a killer. That's ALSO instinctive.
I kinda liked the movie scene, because it showed how Rorschach loses his "cool", so to speak. I can't explain, but the chopping in the movie let people see the anger/insanity/etc you know? BUT I like the comic one too.
This makes me wish that they had included the entire interview and stayed completely true to at least this one part of the comic. I didn't lik how in the movie Rorschach cut the man up. Burning alive in a fire was a much more horrific death IMO
I believe that was the point. The Rorschach Test is a reflection of the psychological makeup of the person who looks at it. That's why Kovacs first said "A pretty butterfly" when he saw it: he wanted the psychologist to believe that he was "normal" so that he could be released from prison. Or at least that's how I interpreted the scene.
@Elric33239 i thought he said a pretty butterfly so he could seem normal so they would put him in the public prison instead of the insane prison where he could get to the criminals locked up in there with him. they'd be trapped right there besides him wouldn't they... seems like his kind of mental wave there at least.
Intentional reference to Taxi Driver? If so, that's no end of awesome because of the whole Kovacs-Bickle thing, as well as the fact a certain Zack Snyder wrote a similar reference into the Dawn of the Dead remake...
I too was startled by the shattering glass. You didn't include sound effects on the other Watchmen Origin videos which is understandable considering the time and precision needed regarding sound editing. I'm sure this took longer to make than the others. Excellent work!
Awesome. Enjoyed this tremendously. Only thing that would have made this better is voice acting, but that's a very minor complaint. Sincere congratulations.
Amazing. The editing in this video is absolutely top-notch. I cannot imagine it being planned better. This is one of the best Watchmen fan videos I have seen, well done mate. Cannot wait to see more.

@AkasunaNoSasoriSama Yup. Connecting a serial killer to pop culture, to a children's cartoon no less - gutsy move by Moore.

It had to be changed though, better as it was in the comic. People would have screamed "Saw ripoff".

I would have smacked anyone that dared compare Watchmen to any of those trashy "horror" flicks :P

That's another possibility. It was the ultimate irony when Big Figure and his thugs came looking for HIM. Good catch.

its sad they left parts of rorshachs interview out. it didnt show how he views things so horibly, it can make anyone depressed.

This is a fantastic tribute. The music really fits Rorschach's disturbed, twisted personality.
Superb.

That is just fantastic. The story is a very powerful one.
The music is spot on with the feel of building tension and I personally loved the shock of the breaking glass effect

holly shit that was epic!! you have very great taste in music im proud of you man great job dude
honnyikillthekids 3 years ago
No, you're not crazy. What's crazy is trying to turn comic books into live action films.
Unfortunately, the American public thinks animation is kids' stuff, and worships famous actors.
racookster 3 years ago 2
This is superbly done up until the first glass-shattering which is just a bit too loud.
Other than that, it's flawlessly edited and the music works so well. THIS is how the motion comics should have been done.
Great job.
