  • i couldnt help but look at more of this ''experts'' videos.

She is teaching very bad habits. You cannot just tie a horse to anything first time. it needs to have a breaking point (hence baler twine) because a horse can literally break its neck if it tries. There are no safety aspects in these videos. she has the horse touching nose with the wall.. honestly who would ever do that? where is the explaination of the groundwork leading up to this?

no young horse will tie perfectly first time.

  • where is the safety of the horse in any of your videos?!?!?

  • I find it interesting that with all of these "horse people" commenting, no one mentioned that they key to teaching a young horse to tie, is teching a young horse to give to pressure. The best way to ensure that your youngster has a great start actually begins far before you actually tie him up. Learning to submit to pressure leads to far fewer "tough lessons learned" when they are tied for the first time.

  • how about teaching the horse to stand quiet using positive reinforcement, at liberty, then add a halter, then a lead, then lead draped over rail, all using positive reinforcement. If the horse never feels trapped, he will never resist.

  • that horse was hilarious

  • real........ lead lol!

  • again, you dont need a lungeline, just a normal leadrope and a bit of twine on that eyeloop, your horse will get away if he pulls to hard, therefore not hurting himself and will release the pressure if he doesnt like it....do not stand at the side of your horse when tying up....that is just senseless.....

  • I wonder what this horse smells on that wall?

  • Wish people would stop slagging others off go find something better to do with their time like getting proper lessons so you dont have to spend all your time on U tube posting negitive comments on other peoples work . o yes and my friend lost a few fingers using bailer twine and as you can see the lady didnt tie tye the horse directly to the ring OMG get over yourselfs .

am fed up of the slagging on u tube equestrain section agggg.

  • @TheBigboy1973 I do agree with you. This video is ok BUT in her other video for introducing the circingle she walkes right underneath her horses lead rope. Big no no

  • i never seen that one just got really peeved at all the crappy comments find horsey folk so bitchy sometimes and besides at some point weve all gone woops maybe that was a bad idea i have a19 month old youngster and shes a right wee madam she can jump out of her field when it suits her and the tape height is about 1meter . shes lovley but very brave and stupid god help me .thanks for responding

  • @TheBigboy1973 see a lot of horse people aren't horse people they're just jackasses who think they know everything about horses and they are right about everything.I just know my ways of doing things are way better than a lot of people because I always think of the horses safety never my own and the horses well being a lot of people just think about themselves or money very sad so many stupid people are in the horse buisness

  • Do they not have bailing twine in America? A horse should never be tied directly to a tie ring.

  • The horse is doing the right thing, he is smiling to the the camera.

  • wow, taught me "so much". btw, if ur horse gets scared for what so ever reason and pulls, then the rings comes out of the wall, wtf are u going to do?

what if he escapes the stall while the door is still open or he gets tangled up in the lunge?

  • @horsecrazy17414 not to mention the fact if a horse learns to get away from the pressure then they learn they can break halters, ties other equipment to get away from it.BAD idea thats how we create horses who walk through cross ties

  • how ur supposed to train a horse is to when they flip out u dont give bc that teaches them that when they flip out they get lose what u do is u just hold it tight untill u feel them give into the ropes pressure then u release just like that saying with horses u give alittle i give alittle it has to be fair on both sides

  • I agree, one of the best ways to teach a young horse to tie, is to tie him/her SAFELY and high up to a sturdy tree or a hooked up horse trailer. This will teach him that pulling will not give him the release of pressure, or 'freedom.' He'll learn that to get some slack in the lead rope (or the release of pressure) he has to stand still and respect the leadrope and whatever he is tied to. A horse usually does not have problems tying if they have had solid lead training.

  • what happens if the horse gets scared and starts thrashing and twisting and they end up hanging themselves what do you do then? my horse did that the first time we took him to a show he almost killed himself.

  • That's why you tie a horse using a quick release knot

  • oh sorry i thought you meant just tying them to something solid :D

  • Nah, then you can't get'm loose :D

  • @highpointchamp thats why you stya with them and don't leave and why would you leave your horse tied up to a trailer unattended?thats just asking for trouble.

  • my horse wasn't unattended i was standing right next to him. my whole barn was sitting around our trailer.

  • @chels2315 ya but you also dont want to break there neck and as the get used to getting restrained you can hold it tighter and tighter

  • shudnt u tie ur horse 2 string so they can break away if nesisariy?

  • haahaa he kept smiling
