@doubledgamze yes but i don't think u got the point, just close ur eyes nd listen, it's not what u think about "handmade music, it's a deeper frequency nd don't u think it's easy to follow the pace ^_^
Totally Amazing! This should be of utmost interest to an ethnomusicologist or just someone who can appreciate this lad shredding up the blues!!! This people is REAL music. From the HEART and SOUL. Look at his face. He feels everything. He is possessed by this music. It controls him. He does not control what he is playing anymore. It takes over.
@Machster10 Please. This is boring; all droning and monotonous. Nothing about remotely resembles shredding. He is a man playing his guitar and enjoying it. He controls the guitar. And it's not the blues. It sounds vaguely Irish, frankly...
@Rebelconformist82 Well, fuck you very much...You obviously are unaware of the fact that this guy does not live in a vacuum - and that his playing is completely derivative. My comment stands.
So beautiful !! I lived in Mali as a child/teen from 1999-2003 because of my dads work but have never been back since ;( his music brings back so many memories it brought tears to my eyes =)
I still remember a live concert of the great Ali Farka Touré in Bamako, Mali and although I was too young to fully understand and appreciate his music it will always remain a one in a lifetime childhood memory to me!
So great to see that his son has inherited his talent!!
Ah! This kid made me smile ! I feel the presence of the departed Ali Farka here and look forward to seeing a live performance of 'Le Vieux' sometime soon. Thanks for posting.
Man, I seriously love that African style of guitar, especially with that sort of clean chorusy sound, it's amazing. Does anybody know what tuning he uses here?
I was wondering if this was the great Ali's son...I pretty much figured it was or he was using Farka Toure as a nom de plume in honour of the greatness. He's just as amazing a player as his father was.
@doubledgamze yes but i don't think u got the point, just close ur eyes nd listen, it's not what u think about "handmade music, it's a deeper frequency nd don't u think it's easy to follow the pace ^_^

Wait. how do you know this man is 'content'?
He might be pissed off at the Dutch or Christianity, if he knows his real history and not the one(s) the missionaries teach.
