Sorry if that comes of defensive. But your comment reads like an advertisement for a competely different engine from another engine builder.
Of course you can get more power from an FE - add cubic inches, cam, or compression - just like any other engine. I've had pump gas FEs at over 750 HP - and done it at the EMC where everyone can see the results on an impartial, third party dyno.
sixtiesforever1966 - I fail to see the point in your message. This is a mild combination going into a street rod. It's not a maximum power combination - just a way to showcase some new technology applied to a classic engine.
If you want a small block crate engine by all means buy one. It will run nicely and look like another pretty small block. Making it a "427" to justify the badges on the car is like stuffing a sock in your pants. It'll never have the looks or the value of a real FE.
@Survival427FE im looking for efi on my 428cj. i want to know what distributor to use end intake manifold. i will have my iron heads worked on with a efi compatible hyd roller cam.i would really like to have it ground at around 490. for street use only? i want it to idle smoothly and civil for the street. i was wondering about a throttle body wih an intake elbow to manifold setup, what would you recomend i do? its going into a 69 mustang fastback
I've yet to try one of the new throttle body deals. Cannot see any reason why they would not work - but nowhere near as well as a multiport system. After all - the OE mfgrs went to multiport and away from throttle body stuff many,. many years ago.
@Survival427FE thats what i want throttlebody to intake elbow multi-point, but i want mass air instead of speed-density i know its possible i just need someone who has done this help me out, and i need to know what distributor and computer to use? if i cant use this then im just going to put a 4.6l 2v in it.
I'm looking at building a 427 stroker (FE) for my 96 f250. Are there any big challenges in building up an injected engine rather than a carbed one? This would be my first FE and the biggest build I've ever taken on myself.
I use many Dove parts in several of my engines. This particular build has no Dove parts in it anywhere. Please try not to advertise competitive services in my videos - its tacky at best, and potentially misleading. This engine carries a one year warranty as it is inteneded to go into a Dearborn Duece street rod and not a racing application. Thanks! BR
bought a set of speed pro pistons 60 over for my 390 and had them balanced in houston when my machine shop got to putting the engine together, he told me that speed pro cut the top piston ring groove wrong to 3,32nds instead of 5/64ths, i called them and speed pro said they would send a different set of rings to match the pistons but wouldn't replace the pistons cause we had them balanced already, what would you do?

Depends on the system you choose. I have used a single four barrel throttle body with the FAST EZ-EFI and it worked very well and was simple to tune.
