You didn't mention that her books Persuasions and Northanger Abby were published posthumously. Infact you didnt mention their publication at all! I'm sorry but if I were grading this publication I would give you poorer marks for missing 1/3rd of her works.
You did great on this video. Though i was expecting a bit faster pased. and a bit more pictures. but anyway, you made a great vid! im doing my biography on her and i have to do a short speech and were allowed to use youtube videos for our introduction.
I hate to say this but people from that era is so unfair they discriminate between both sexes. Just because we're woman we cannot work we have to get married! Women also have some potential too. Well at least its a change now.. It is really a shame that Jane could not see the benefits of her work that she's achieved...
@some3202 Well, we hope that this condition is changed nowadays... You see, today is the International Women's Day, but if we look around we still see women getting lower wages, suffering disrespect and violance... Let's stick to Jane Austen's attitude and get our space in the world! Thanks 4 your comment.
Its sad that her family treated her works and letters in death as if they were useless, like she was a child with some silly brain fever, as they thought of most women in those days who wrote or stepped out of the box. They treated it as if her works would amount to nothing, I'm glad she proved them wrong and is now in todays society getting the respect her works deserve, and being one of the best known women writers of her time.
@ChaosControl1997 Yes indeed, but isnt it a shame that she couldnt of seen some of the benifits that her work achieved. It's always the way with these past succesful Regency/Victorian author's, their worth much more dead than they were alive. Tragic in its way.
I just finished reading a bio of Jane Austen by Clair Tomlinson. In the Appendix to Tomlinson's bio, she puts forth the theory that Jane died of Addison's Disease, the same disease that President John F. Kennedy had, which was kept from the public when Kennedy was president. Tomlinson's theory was that Jane Austen died from not only from Addison's, but from cancer. We will never know what Jane died from, unless they dis-inter and and test her dna against her living descendants.
@Maio0oia Yes, you're right. This beautiful song is from the soundtrack of Pride & Prejudice. Thanks for you comment and visiting my channel. All the best!
