To anyone whos viewing this, here is an update. The day after the fire many existing and past members of the Connecticut street rod association cleaned up the entire mess. The 23' was given away as a gift to a friend of ours wife, the 63' Galaxie was impounded due to severe body damage. The 35' Ford is being restored, and is out for complete body work. The 37' Ford is waiting to be examined. There is a new car involved, a 40' Chevy coupe. The garage is completely rebuilt and will be in use soon.
Dear Sally and Paul, so sorry, terrible. My kids all loved the old cars when you fired them up, even in the middle of the night when you where going to a show they would wake up and look at them. We are sorry from all of us, Danny and Lu and all the kids.
I'm assuming the guy you're talking about is the one walking. They had their men set up. There is always one guy making sure everything is where it's suppose to be. He doesn't fight the fire himself. They responded quickly and did they bet they could. They saved the houses next to the garage and tried salvaging what they could of the cars. So before you trash the FD, why don't you get your facts straight.
This is my friend Paul & Sally Benoit's Garage...a loss of 4 hot rods, '35 Ford, '37 Ford, 60 era Ford Galaxie, and a '23 Ford T-Bucket ....they are devastated....the next day about 30 people from our car club went there to help clean up the mess.
They had an attack line stretched, supply line laid, the truck company in position and setting up, and were evacuating the neighbors houses in less that 1m 28s. I think they moved fast enough.
