im pretty sure the micro is the same as the mini but it's part of the "XO" line which means its in a smaller casing and the in/out lines are on the sides and not the top.

it's all unoriginal crap. half the chord progressions have been heard before, hump de bump was a cheesy, failed attempt to return to an earlier form. instead of reinventing themselves and writing amazing music like they always have done before, they just churned out more record label bullshit.e.g.the £40 boxset, just a label marketing ploy. over half the album is terrible songs that noone remembers like so much i and if. all that is good, (slow cheetah, she's only 18 is far too long.

thats crap, rhcp are mid 40s now, theyre not going to jump around half naked and rap for every album and live show, they have moved on and have developed and experiemented with different styles, its a shame that they have abandoned their older albums, but thats the way it is, stadium arcadium was a great album, with a number of very good songs on it, they were after a more complete sound, not just a raw jam, with three instruments with rap/vocals

i think you'll find that I'm not just an old school chilis fan, I'm 15. the first song i heard by them was "By the Way" for crying out loud. Then i discovered all their other stuff and thought "wow what an insane band". When I heard they had a new album coming out, i thought it was gonna be like the white album or something. then i bought it, thought it was the white album for a week, then realised actually, it just doesn't compare to their earlier work. a true fan listens to it all, not loves.

I'm afriad Flea uses a Mu-Tron III. They stopped making them in the 80's so this is closest you can get to them these days. Unless you're rich and lucky enough to find a used one...

Flea uses the regular full-sized Q-Tron, actually. He's used a lot of different envelope filters over the years--he's never actually used the Mu-Tron, to my knowledge--and he started using the Q-Tron either on One Hot Minute or Californication.

There was an article on his gear in Bassplayer a few years ago.
