This era of games will always be special to me,so much fun back in the day.Also loved how the levels themselves were a challenge with all the switches/keys/hidden rooms/ect.

I guess they just wont make them games like this anymore :(

PS: the Gauntlets of the Necromancer was my personal favourite weapon in the game :D

Just played through this coop with a buddy on the hardest difficulty. Not bad, but it was way too easy. We beat the last 2 episodes in less than 20 minutes, and 3/4ths of the monsters we just ran by, didn't even have to kill. This does have some cool stuff, but Hexen & Hexen 2 are overall a much more challenging, and satisfying experience for coop.

Uh..Remember the constant whispering from the Disciples used to get on my nerves when I played this back in the days. Loved how this heretic elf laughed every time he found a weapon though.

This is such a Doom Clone! I mean, using the engine is one thing, but barely anything is different about the gameplay.

Wow. You can really see how each weapon here, is a reflection of dooms. Crossbow = shotgun. staff = pistol. 'three pronged-blue firing-thing' = chaingun. Necromancer's gloves = chainsaw. Meh. Oh well... still a pretty creative game.

@ScrapChild1979 I believed that the 'three pronged-blue firing-thing' was called Dragon Claw. I did not think about this until you brought this up. It made sense. Although there is the belief that this game resembled Doom, I still love it to this day.

I actually discovered Heretic only after playing Hexen xD I still remember, it was a demo but there were some sort of community packs playable through the demo and which to an extent allowed me to play nearly the first whole levels that were locked originally from the main room of the 2nd level. Go figure :P "flawed" demo sure made me one happy nerd youngling :)

gloves of the necromancer, my favorite weapon. And i love that evil laugh whenever you pick up a new toy, awesome game.

@zemsta I would not blame the protagonist for laughing. Everybody waited to tear him to pieces.  I believed that the gloves of the necromancer used the red lightning when you combined it with the Tome of Power. I believed that you can kill the enemies much faster when you combined it with the Tome of Power. It really came in handy when you wanted to conserve ammunition.
