Now, I have only known of Walter Hawkins, to know who I was looking at, for less than a year.
It amazes me that I sang and went to church this long and was clueless.
Now if I am not mistaken, he was battling cancer and do you hear how STRONG his voice STILL sounded.

I wish I could have been there to. I'm from Toledo, Ohio and wen I wuz there; nobody hardly came thru. Now I'm way down here in Orlando, Florida and ppl stoppin thru toledo. I love thiz song so much; I first heard it wen I lived in Detroit, Mi. Rite after I got saved and it blew me away. The way I felt about the Christ that saved my soul wuz put into words by thiz amazing Bishop; may he rest peacably until we join him in glory. RIP Bishop Hawkins

The Heavenly choir is super natural, out of this world, majestic, full of pomp and glory, absolutely HUGE, so harmonious that it brings tears to mortal man, every voice is heard and joyous. 'The player on instruments will be there'. Hallelujah ! Marvelous. RIP brother Walter sir.

I remember a friend gave me a copy of The Love Alive 25th year anniversary cd. I listened to it over and over again. I came to God on the strength of that experience. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. I'm very sad about Bishop Walter Hawkins' passing. I'm grateful to him for sharing his God given talents and gifts with the world. RIP Bishop Hawkins.
