Richard here served up the most fascinating program of his series. There were others but this is THE one. The spark of hope lives in each guest; each guest us a real person with just a few abrupt minutes to get it out there. God bless 'em. When Letterman was at NBC he paraded some of these folks in front of the nation -- it was jokey and exploitive ... and every one of them added their appearance to their respective vitae.
Poor people, this is what they had to settle for before the internet came along. I wouldn't be surprised if this program aired at 2am or Sunday mornings. Today that nose whistler would be getting thousands of hits right here on YouTube!

I never missed this in its hayday. Loved the paper shuffling immediately after he'd ask a question. Originally called "Tales of Roffman."
