I love Bowie but I like Iggy's version better, it's more raw and powerful. It happened with most Iggy songs that Bowie did later (each one written by both of them, of course), China Girl, Tonight, Sister Midnight, etc, Bowie did them sound more commercial.
I saw this tour. He brought out Peter Frampton from reclusion. They went to high school together. Frampton sang on Sons of the Silent Age. Frampton comes alive (again)!
i think it's cheezy. is that wrong? but he could whip 'em into a frenzy, and i agree with the poster who pointed out that it's choreographed. but that's what good dancing could do - whip people into a frenzy.
a modern day dionysus - who also had both male and female characteristics.
This is so interesting. Bowie hates touching his fans and that is apparent in this video. He reaches out, but his security saves him from prolonged contact. You can actually see him recoil. Not that I blame him.
wow, this is bizarre. i love bowie but this is a bit over the top for me. pop's toothless version is just so much better, so much more real. bowie's 80's hair is quite something.
Bowie is the best

I think, Iggy sang it better, though I'm a huge DB-Fan.
But the show, the performance, is great, amazing and wonderful!
This stage play, the choreography - so smashing!!!
By the way, was it Melissa? Does anybody know it?

Is a song written by Iggy Pop and Ivan Kral in 1981 for Iggy Pop's Party album.
Bowie made a perfect interpretation and became a master piece on his hands.

Just in case some of you don't get it, she was one of his dancers that toured with him.
Some people seem to think this is a real fan he pulled from the audience..!

sandboy007 2 years ago

This is the most absurd thing I've ever seen in my life! I love it! The bass playing is very interesting to pay attention too.

Bowie seems to smile at seemingly inappropriate times during songs.

According to wikipedia it was written by both Iggy Pop and Ivan Kral. But it could be wrong.

He's not trying to touch his fans. It's just a stage act. FYI. ;)

Check out Iggy Pop's version, nothing against Bowie, he's great, but Iggy puts much more emotion into the song, then Iggy does that to every song!
