  • My sound card is a Presonus Audiobox and I have Amplitube 3. Can I use these the same way you are demo-ing this Shred?

  • Helpful

  • Man- you and your 3 brothers really no had to "shred" those axes!!!! :)

  • How do I contact MIxcraft in regards to my ID and Authorization Code not working?

That is, I changed laptop, and now it's asking for Code, but the one I punched in

from my purchase box from Amazon not allowed?

  • dude, do use a pre-amp on that?

  • My guitar sound doesnt sound the same as yours with the same settings but on Wave? Why is this?

  • WIth mixcraft

Are we able to record the guitar effects clearly along with the music played in audacity at the same time

Srry i wasnt able to complete watching the entire video

  • thanks for the great videos, i am using mxcraft 5 and noticed you have quite abit more effects when you pull down the fx menu . did they come with mxcraft or did you add them ?

  • Sounds Great. What triggers are you using for your drums and also what plugin are you using for your drum sounds?

  • I did what you did in the video but I can't get my distortion working ...

    Help me?? :)

  • Just got the software, thanx for the tips man. That song def surprised me, lol, It's badass dude!! : D

  • what kind of pre amp are you using?

  • Truly amazing. Great job!

  • I bought the full version but it says samplerates over 48,000 are not supported

  • I will post the video here, can you listen to it? as track go in and out for the lead trck there is hiss.

  • I like mix craft i juts got it last week, can you recomend and other amp VSTs..The acme bar gig one, all the heads have hiss, i dont want to use the noise gate. do you know any virtual maps with no his?

  • Hi, can I use the usb guitar cord that came with rocksmith the game? Thanks in advance

  • Do I need a special soundcard? Because I have a laptop and the guitar that I'm getting has a real bad AMP but the guitar is fine so is it okay to use the regular sound card?

  • @xbobbyx100 Yes any soundcard is fine, if you have windows 7, use WavRT from within Mixcraft preferences under sound device.

  • Can you down load more amps or effects for mixcraft?

  • @Singleattackfucker Mixcraft can use just about any 3rd party VST or VSTI

  • Try ASIO4ALL, i use it with my sound-blaster card and latency is minimal.

  • Cool.

  • Comment removed

  • I never comment on videos but man you are good, if I was just listening I could swear this was like avenged sevenfold or something!

and also I have a question, idk if its been answered somewhere else but how do you get all the tracks for drums with a single playthrough? I'm somewhat new to this stuff

  • is there a jack type thing that u can put on ur guitar cable that turns it so u can plug it into ur PC?

  • @Pamahana97 Probably, search "1/4 " Female to USB". It's pointless though, because it will sound horrible without an audio interface.

  • @Pamahana97 Use a interface such as mbox or lexicon. Then u dont need that, you just plug your guitar into the interface. which connects to the pc via usb or firewire

  • hay

  • I've been getting buzzing like crazy. I use my guitar (humbuckers) plugged with a microphone cable shape with a converter, into my microphone jack. Is it the sound card?

  • You are an amazing musician and a very METAL man. Definitely want this song.

  • ur d dude mahn.......cn i hv tabs fr d sng u hv played???

  • does it work with basses???

  • hey man yur good i would like to know the song you did in the end is reaaally good

  • I can tell the difference between this and real amp tone, but nothing beats the fact that this method is the best when working in a place where you can't play loud. I for one work at night and live in an apartment so this application works for people in my situation. However I'm going with the Pod HD.

  • Nice playing and tone; I'm curious, my PC runs Win 7 w. 4 GB RAM and decent CPU, from the site it looks like with WavRT that would actually get the latency down to 1ms just plugging straight in . . . is that so?

  • I get no sound,,

  • can it be used with other daws?

  • well done, man. nice job.

  • Good stuff dude !!

  • THATS WHAT I CALL TALENT

  • PLZ HELP! when i monitor incoming audio from (guitar straight to laptop) it comes a second late :( it never makes sound the exact moment i play it, instead it comes in late. PLZ HELP FIX!

  • @InsaneAudioX You are experiencing latency. Watch this video on YouTube "Optimize Your PC For Use With Mixcraft"

  • @InsaneAudioX I had the same prob with Cubase LE i reinstalled it and it workek Grate. And try this i found wile usind vst and even programs that prob will come up alot to.When you open a program Right click and run as a administrator allways ok.Cuz that will let the Program run to fullpontential,So nothing blocks cuz of level issues :) hope i helped :)

  • @InsaneAudioX u can also use a small driver called asio4all try to google it

  • Great song, loved the track. But is there anyway you could do some samples of your kit, it souded great. and im just looking round for samples to add to my work.

  • Will it still be good quality if you just plug your guitar into an input on your laptop? or do you strongly recommend an external sound card?

  • @darksquid13 Line in or mic input is fine.

  • im using normal line in, how can i have it as real time playback?

  • @syuxzter Just use the "monitor incoming audio" function, it works for any input device.

  • When I click the option ASIO, i have no options to select. I need to get rid of this latency its killing me :(

  • @ArtificialFlavaFTB2 ASIO is only available if your sound card supports it and came with an ASIO driver. ASIO is not a Mixcraft or windows function, mixcraft simply presents it to you if your computer has an ASIO driver installed. Have you tried wavRT?

  • @acoustica222 i need help, i pluged aux wire to my motherboards mic in, i hear it perfectly, mixcraft picks it up, but im lost on how u change the guitars' sound. I tried all the amp effects, but im still hearing my same ol guitar

  • @ArtificialFlavaFTB2

You can download the free ASIO4ALL driver

  • @ArtificialFlavaFTB2 try asio4all, its free and its a low latency asio driver

  • @bullyingthebully I got a new laptop from my dad, and it has something apparently my old one didnt, because i have ALMOST no latency!

  • @ArtificialFlavaFTB2 each computer is different, it depends on your audio configuration mostly, so a pc may have high latency by default, and others low.

  • you remind me alot of thomas youngblood from the band kamelot

  • could i just take my laptop and put it near my amp and just recrod then do this

  • @Shreder158 You could but it's going to sound horrible. The mic in your laptop is extremely low quality as compared to a professional microphone or lining in direct, which is how amp sims were meant to work.

  • @acoustica222 ok thanks

  • @acoustica222 ok thanks could i also just use a jack

  • @Shreder158 You could but it will sound bad.

  • @Shreder158 Are you serious?

  • very very very good:)

  • This is really cool. I don't even need an amp to record amazing guitar stuff anymore!!

  • It works. Cool.. Thanks for the video...

  • Awesome...love it!!!

  • Awesome...love it!!!

  • wow, dude your incredible :)

  • @harrothahobo Thanks, much appreciated!

  • That is pretty impressive, especially for the price!

  • Im Wondering Where Do You Get All Those Plug-ins??

  • what sound card do you use? I'm using Sound blaster xi-fi extreme. is that okay for ASIO and the plugin?

  • @damiantreez I Have That Too I Tried To Test It, Its Not bad For My Windows Vista Laptop!!

  • @damiantreez Just about any sound card is fine, but most won't come with an asio driver. You should try it with wavRT. I use m-audio delta1010LT cards.

  • can I get that same sound without connecting A guitar into the computer?

  • I bought Mixcraft a couple of days ago. Cost next to nothing for what you get with the software. I mean, how much would a 'Marvel' (wink wink) stack like that cost to buy on it's own???

    Best money I ever spent.

  • i cant get that distorted effect and im doing all the same things!

  • @tristosonasty So you select a preset and you get no distortion at all? Does your guitar pickup take a 9V battery? If so, try a new one, that makes the signal much hotter.

  • @acoustica222 Explain me that please, i have a emu 1212m and a fender standard mexican stratocaster but the distort doesn't sound like the video and your records, please explain what is the problem??

  • @acoustica22 Please explain me this, i have the 1212m and a fender mexican standard stratocaster but the distort doesn't sounds like the video. 9v battery? what can i do?

  • @jprojasc Try plugging the guitar into a direct box or mixing board or preamp or anything like that, then plug that into the computer. Some guitar pickups are not as "hot" as others. Mine has no battery, just hot pickups; I got lucky :-) I imaging active pickups would be great for this sort of use.

  • Really helpful. Been contemplating whether to buy Mixcraft after getting the free trial and this has sealed the deal. Impressive sound achieved in the song. Thanks!

  • Shit man you are good. Can you put some parts down for me on my songs ? :oP

  • @trulynot Thanks :-) Actually I do like to do collaborations, but right now I am swamped with work. Hit me up in a month or two.

  • @acoustica222 Will do. Thanks :)

  • is there a way to connect your amp into mixcraft 5? i hear things about audicity allowing to do that but im more comfortable and used to using mixcraft. if there is, please give me instructions to do so. thank you

  • @diegonacho30 Of course, the steps you need to take to connect your guitar to your computer are no different no matter what software you use to record it with. We have a tutorial here called "how to connect your guitar - Mixcraft Mini Tip". Have a look at that, you can connect an amp the same way. Just use the amps line out (not speaker output). Better yet, put a microphone in front of your amp and connect that to the computer.

  • @acoustica222 alright thanks for your help :)

  • I DONT HAVE SHRED AMP..!!!

i installed it completely..but i dont have it in my presets..WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!??

  • @ninjaduderantaro If you installed Mixcraft 5, Shred installs with it. It is not a virtual instrument, but a VST effect which is accessible via the FX button on each track.

  • thanks man. I will be back for more

  • Buying the software. Had the trial, and was very satisfied. and 80 dollars is inexpensive, and when i realized this came with it it turned from a ya i'll buy it to a gotta have it. i have two questions though, what hardware are you using to run your guitar through your computer, and are there presets you can use to simulate a bass amp as well?

  • @CodyLeeWalters I have my guitar plugged into a 24 chanel mixer and then into my computer via my M-Audio Delta 1010LT sound card, but the mixer is not essential, it's just the way my studio is set up. You can plug your guitar right into your computers sound card and it will work fine as long as you can get low latency with the sound card. Simulating a bass amp; I suppose it could do that as well, just disable distortion and use compression. But shred is made specifically for guitar.

  • @nbro222 I checked it out and it looks like Mixcraft + Shred is using up 105 MB. So you should be fine for memory. Just make sure to shut down any unnecessary programs, including web browsers (big hogs). The other factor is CPU. Shred running on a netbook was taking about 30% CPU...Now that is a netbook which has an extremely slow CPU....so I expect that it would hit between 3% to 15% on a normal modern desktop.

  • This is freaking awesome! I've been using Mixcraft for the last month or so, now my trial is over and I'm gearing up to purchase.... Great great great software!

  • This was great. As a non musician, I have a new found respect for Mixcraft. I am hoping I can learn to something simple.

  • If so, use a tight noise gate effect. It will cut off instantly when you stop playing. Of course what you hear on a slipknot cd would be heavily determined by the guitar used, the guitar players style, the amp, cabinet, settings, engineering, etc.

Just plug into shred and start pushing buttons, you'll find a tone you like.

  • @MartyHITD:

You can simulate just about any guitar tone you want, you just have to know how to use the effects. I am familiar with slipknot but the guitar tone sounds no different than any other metal band to me, are you wanting a super tight up front and distorted sound?

  • @pcs800 very much so

  • is it possible to get a "Slipknot" Heavy metal style tone without horrible fuss?

  • @MartyHITD Noise gate my friend

  • @MartyHITD watch?v=UXKoxNlqIBU&feature=related

  • Great video. I liked the details of how to change/tweak settings. I tried my Guitar through the mic in socket but, it didn't pick up too well and was tinny. Perhaps there's a cheap alternative like an adaptor to convert the lead jack plug to USB or something. I haven't got RCA in.

Anyway, thank you for uploading this video. I hope you do more.

  • @Topdoginuk You could get a EMU 0202, which we now ship an LE version of Mixcraft 4 with. This is a good product that will work well with a dynamic mic and guitar input.

  • @acoustica222 Thank you for your reply. I took a look on the Acoustica website but I couldn't see this EMU 0202 Interface. I've seen what it looks like on the Dolphin website and it's £77. Seems okay if it works with MX5 and Vista and stops latency etc. I'll think about it after reading any write ups.

Thanks again. Oh, will you do a vid of you creating a whole song of 3 mins? pls

  • @Topdoginuk Meaning to show me playing the parts as they get recorded? I am not sure if I mentioned, but I probably did 30-40 takes on the drum track alone before being ok with what I played :-) What I probably could do is get all the parts recorded and then show how I set them up within Mixcraft before mixing down.

  • @acoustica222 Yeah, that'd be great. Be good if you could show/explain how you will split/divide/name the structure of the track between intro, verses, chorus, outro etc.

    Thank you for replying.

  • @Topdoginuk This would be a pretty big project, give me some time to come up with a song and then I'll try to screen capture video as I go through it. If you subscribe to this account, you will be notified when new videos are uploaded.

  • @acoustica222 Sounds like I've set you a challenge?! You will gain respect from your followers if you can produce these videos of song creation. It's what people need to learn in order to buy/use Mixcraft. At the moment the videos don't properly cover this important fundamental area.

Thanks for your reply. I'm really looking forward to your uploads. I can show some of my subscribers & pass to Justin Sandercoe & Carl Brown.

  • @Topdoginuk I plan to start working on this on the weekend. I have decided not to put much effort into the song itself, it will be short and probably not very catchy, but the lesson portion should be there.

  • @acoustica222 Thanks for reply and notification that U R gonna hav a go at this. I may have a go at creating one too. It'll be good for anyone considering MC5 but not sure how to create a song using it. When I began looking at MC4 I qickily realised there were vids showing how parts worked but, not how to create a proper song on it. I will show how to this and hope it will work hand in hand with your videos. I can then send it to people & encourage them to get creative with on this awesome DAW!

  • This is awesome! Love it!
