Why would you disable UAC? It's something Microsoft finally did right security-wise. Look at Linux or Mac OS X, you have to even put in your password! I have mine set above default because I personally think that while it may be annoying, it's definitely something you want. It's like backing up or using an antivirus. It can be a pain, a resource hog, an all around bug, but when something happens you sure wish you had been smart and had it enabled.

@HTATigersBasketball He does this for the skilled computer person who knows what he/she is doing. For those of us that do it is very annoying and a hassle so we disable it and be done. If you know the program and what you are doing you should not have to worry about something happening.

@strifethe3 if ure talking bout bringing back the wondpws search back on u can go to control panel/programs and then click "Turn Windows features on or off" and u can check the Windows Search box..it worked for me. hope i helped?

@jagjagin ah christ... Like, i dont know how bad the situation is but ima guess you used the patcher thing and a program like rocketdock or somethin. Quit the dock, make sure its set to not run at startup. right click desktop, hit personalize and load windows 7 default and then aero theme... good luck.

What do you think about the freezing issues Windows 7 has?

I have them on my machine, the OS freezes when idle sometimes. I've tried the windows 7 Freezing hotfix to no avail. Right now i'm at Driver Verifier, trying to figure out if there's a deadlock with one of my drivers.

If you can, please help.

@gPaHaTaTa it isnt always the operating system because my computer has never frozen and i have been using windows 7 for about a year now so it would probably be a problem with the hardware or maybe drivers. hope i helped!

@JDMowerGuy1998 People do it differently. What i personally like to do is to go into control panel, uninstall the display drivers, use a program like driver sweeper to clean out the registry, then reboot, then installed new drivers, then reboot again.

That's how i do it, but it's not required to do it like that..

@dchains All I do is just go to the manurfactueres (fail spelling) website and download and install, for me I don't need to uninstall stuff.

@wasitrealy You that's another way to do it, Nvidia's drivers are fine with reinstalling new driver on top of older ones without a reboot. But i just personally like to make sure everything is stable and working properly, that's why i personally go through what i go through when it comes to installing new drivers.

Alright, on my HP laptop I do not have a volume control. Therefore I have to use the F9 key and the F10 key for adjusting volume. Such as with F2 and F3 for brightness and on. Is there a way I can disable that feature and manually do it myself. I play this game called Runescape and using these keyboard short cuts are crucial in real time battle.

Great video. Some of the features tips that you mentioned are entirely useless to most people though. Like the power savings. I never notice a difference when I set my power savings to balanced. The cpu throttles it up and down depending on what it needs which is a good thing, less heat, less power used..
