You can't compare a US Marine to a Royal Marine Commando. RMC is an elite, amphibious military unit with, I believe, the longest recruit training program in the world. Basic Training is 30 weeks minimum before even having the opportunity to get your green berret. That's more than double USMC basic training. They're basically the British equivalent of the US Navy Seals.

In fact, you have to pass a 'potential recruits course' before even being considered for basic training.

they are elite, but they are not the equivalent to Navy seals because they are a conventional force who are not trained to be special operations capable. they are light infantry, just really hardcore light infantry but they work in large numbers typically and dont conduct special operations. although they have special elements like Brigade Recce or Mountain Leaders who are closer to seals. but the closest equivalent the british have to seals is probably the SBS.

no there not, look its a fact, it would take you 2 minutes to find out that royal marines dont conduct special operations but SEALS do. seals training is longer and more difficult, they are just a different type of fighting force, ones special forces and one is elite light infantry. they are not meant for comparison. my brothers in 40 commando royal marines and he has never been trained for special ops and never will unless he goes reconnaissance or MLs. this is not my opinion!

how? royal marines are really nails but all there work is conventional, they dont do counter terrorism, hostage rescue, sabotage, special reconnaissance etc like the seals do. royal marines are among the best 'shock troops' in the world but they are not trained for special operations which generally take more skill to execute.

no they dont do that stuff, my brother is in 40 commando and and he is not trained in special operations but is trained to be an awesome raider who takes part in large scale raids on particularly dangerous targets. they have fought along side seals though, and are hugely respected by them and probably have equally good conventional fighting skills, but seals just have a bit more advanced training.

yeah, if you look back the role of the royal marines today is similar to what the british commandos did in world war 2, what they are best trained for is surprise, daring large scale raids on significant (often coastal) targets. they are very similar to seals in their fitness level but they have a different purpose. closer to the seals (although much more selective) would be the SBS.

A British Convoy Warthogs (Vikings) gets stuck in a river then a Danish Tank comes to help then they get fired at so the Dutch Tank and all of the British Infantry & Armoured vehicles start Firing out of some Compounds.
